People who complained about this film should be glad it got closure at all
I hesitate to call this 'closure'. We finally found out who the boys mother was, but I can't say I really cared about that. I was much more interested in what really happened at the movie night massacre. My theory is it was Jonas himself who did it. Blue Morpho made good on his threat, and showed the audience something so horrible about Dr. Venture, that he decided he had no choice but to kill all the witnesses. In his haste, he accidentally got caught in his own atrocity, (Or maybe Blue Morpho thwarted his escape.)
I would have liked to find out for sure.
@@Commanderziff My personal theory is that a young Bud Manstrong walked into the tape room, saw Blue Morpho's porno, and while jacking off to it accidentally leaned into a control panel that flung everyone else into space. Prolly passed out from the trauma with no memory of what transpired. IMO it's pretty in-line with the show for the Movie Night Massacre to have been caused by nothing more than an accident. That brings the added gratification that, had Jonas Venture Sr. never taped that porno, he wouldn't have gotten stuffed into the PROBLEM

@@Commanderziff Unlikely that Jonas would put himself in a danger for that. And he didn't seem to care or worry much that Venturion was even on board and if he really wanted to get rid of him, he would've just killed him in place (I am sure that Jonas carries at least some type of weapon at all times) and just say to the public that it was self-defence. Considering it was before the powerlevel regulations (no Venturion near Rusty in the powerlevel regulation flashback and low-tier Red Death's crew taking on Jonas seems to support that there were no regulations in place), it was fully in Jonas' power.
Also, a random villain babbling about some Jonas' secrets won't fly, especially considering that he organized the very heist. But even back as the Blue Morpho he had his comic book series quickly cancelled and most of his work consisted of covert operations for Jonas, so he likely wasn't even famous among the general public and even among the capes and villains (it seems like nobody was aware of Morpho=Venturion=Vendata aside from Doctor Z).
On an unrelated note, it's strange that nobody seemed to care about Venturion/Vendata for about 40 years until the current day, despite the fact that the old Jonas crew is still alive, Doctor Z is still alive and Vendata would've at least knew about the Monarch due to both's affiliation with the Guild that woul've prompted some flashbacks in Vendata's mind. Just seems like a plot hole.
The grappling belly buttons are pretty cool... but your old suits could literally FLY. Not sure if this really counts as an upgrade.
Old monarch suit could glide, and only one of his suits could do it

@@lampo6947 No we saw in "Showdown in Cremation Creek" that the suits including the henchman suits CAN Fly which is actually something Dr. Girlfirend/Dr. Mrs The Monarch designed so yeah those could fly and so could the monarch suit. Pretty sure these can too but if you're used to flying around and not used to grappling around there is a difference.

Gary's second suit is a custom job with kevlar made by himself, no flight shown. Not to mention in the same episode Gary mentions this, the Fluttering Horde was complaining about how their current equipment wasn't up to dealing with Hatred's gunplay. Also Monarch throughout the series blew through all his cash for the good stuff, biggest hits coming from the cocoon blowing up the second time and renovating the old family house.
I now realize I have way too much knowledge about a fictional supervillain's finances.
@@johnsayles8032 Well the Monarch still had a flying suit as of season 7 (as "The Unicorn In Captivity" actually pointed out there's a difference between the probably much more heavy flying suit he wears for battles and arching and the cloth wing one that's more for just general meetings and talking that CAN'T fly) but yeah I guess Gary probably hasn't since upgrading his suit especially since he probably priortized weapons and strength over flight. And yeah after the end of season 5 funds were tight and they weren't really even spending them on Monarch stuff so Gary probably hasn't had a flight suit in awhile but I still say the point is "if you CAN grapple around you'd have fun with that even if you are used to flight."

Not only that but 75% of its appeal was just referenced to the old show. For people who missed the original punch and style of the show and just wanted a true final season it def was a let down

I would say they did their best to tie up loose ends, but the movie suffered.They moved things too quickly, just to answer the questions left off. They really should've had another season instead, so they could fully expand on their ideas.
