I think the Blue Morpho/Vendatta character is probably the most genuinely tragic character in the series. He starts out as a genuine hero, is blackmailed by Jonas (who also had an affair with Morpho's wife behind his back) into doing his dirty work for him, is killed, is turned into an amnesiac cyborg by Jonas, is killed again by Cano, is brought back Again by Dr. Z who wipes his mind of all memories, disappears, reappears as an amnesiac villain, confronts Jonas and kills him (or so he thought) in the Movie Night Massacre, gets his memories back after almost being destroyed by Brock without provocation, goes home to a long-empty house, then finally confronts Jonas Again, who tries to trick Morpho to steal his robot body to house his own brain which will kill Morpho once again, and then he and Jonas are finally killed in their final confrontation. I don't know how they could have made his story more cruel or tragic than they did.
It's also the most comic book story of all in a show that loves to homage/parody comic book superheroes. Amnesia, betrayal, and a metric tonne of deaths and restorations. It's a perfect tribute to all the tropes.

There's something so unsettling about the V over the crotch. Yes, it's probably meant to mirror the natural V that can sometimes be seen on the male body, but it also evokes the knowledge that Jonas literally cockholded him when his wife allegedly went to him for help concieving, and thinking of Jonas putting that there on the body of his friend is just so. . .gross.
I was rewatcning the show and I think the most disturbing thing was realizing that Jonas was, like, sexually obsessed with the Blue Morpho. Remember, Jonas brought over those women seemingly just so he could create that tape to trap the Blue Morpho. And while the movie implied that he probably didn't sleep with his wife, he did force the Blue Morpho to commit a series of sexual crimes. Blackmailing someone into sex is a form of rape and Jonas seemingly did that multiple times. And then there is even Jonas turning him into Venturion and then forcing him to basically be a maid, a rather feminine occupation. And then there is the sad way Vendata reacts to Jonas when he does see him again on the space station. He is scared of Jonas and he just wants people to believe him.
Huh... I know it was pretty obvious from the get-go, but it's pretty attention-grabbing knowing that Vendata really was the Blue Morpho. It also makes the Monarch's trial all the more interesting in hindsight. The Monarch was talking with his father and he didn't even realize it.
I don't see how anyone could have thought that a robot, especially one who was thought to have been put out of commission by Brock fucking Sampson, especially one of the (former) council members, would turn out to be one of the greatest heroes of all time.

My biggest problem with this show is the writers took forever to tell this story. There's no way they wrap the many plotholes in one movie but we take what we can. Seriously, why did they take forever to tell this story on a cartoon series? Sitcoms don't last as long as they did.
Has anybody else noticed that the entrance building at the start of the video is shaped a lot like the entrance to the Brotherhood of Steel base in Fallout 1? Did the animators slip in a small reference to that classic game here?
Either that, or the background artists simply used it as reference model. Same thing was with RE4 mercentary confronting Colonel Gentleman in Star Wars cantina.
I love how they used the design of the Brotherhood of Steel bunker from Fallout 1 for the entrance, really caught me off guard the first time I watched this

For real! It takes a lot of loyalty/patience to be a Venture Bros fan...I'm pretty sure that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer are the only two guys doing the writing, so it kinda makes sense. Still though, only 7 seasons during its 16 year run is pretty brutal.

VB is known for bringing back characters. I doubt that after keeping us waiting for what happened to Jonas Sr. and Vendata and Blue Morpho, they'd just kill them off within a few episodes. They'll be back. Just you wait.
+NC A (NCA) Not Jonas though. All that was left of him was his head and Rusty took that. They possibly took Vendata to study and possibly learn Guild secrets from his mind.
Actually while Rusty took his father's head, and possibly the remains of the PRO-BLEM. The Guild took the remains of Vendata for the crimes of the blue morpho. It is possible that they both will return in some form. I'm betting on AI/Cyborg.
A lot of people immediately see Green Hornet, but Blue Morpho is also based off of The Shadow. And like The Shadow, he is a darker more urban vigilante with a bad reputation compared to the more squeaky clean seeming Jonas Venture. Or The Shadow to Doc Savage. And this is proven to be false because Doc Savage lobotomized some of his foes into submission while The Shadow never goes that far. Although Blue Morpho is much more emotionally vulnerable than The Shadow.
I was rewatching the series and it's really pretty sad just how vulnerable the Blue Morpho is. Even if Jonas hadn't attacked him, the Guild and OSI weren't going to let him get away
themarkiscooking or he may have deliberately fucked with him I mean maybe he was legit when he said fertility treatment but he still used his own penis or something
And holy shit I thought he was the test pilot from the first season. The one that kept screaming all the time. I knew Jonas had attempted to cyborg someone and failed and it was someone close to the Venture family I just didn't know who.
April 9, 1987 The day Jonas Venture.....well, died seems slightly _wrong_ Lost his body and got put in suspended animation, but as far as the world was concerned, died.
I think it's another unseen character who will be revealed in this season or another...But I feel as though this person is connected to OSI...OSI now has 1. Rusty Venture's confiscated cloning technology 2. The DNA of Jonas Venture Sr and the Blue Morpho 3. The machines that they were connected to that preserves their thoughts and memories.... These 3 facts lead me to believe that Blue Morpho and Jonas Sr. will be resurrected in clone bodies for some sort of purpose....perhaps in fixing the damaged Orb
So, let me guess this clear, Vendatta was missing for all that time and granted the Guild had some hiccups so they didn't have time to mount a search for him but none of the OSI could track him down as he walked all that way to his old home?
@@SuperWolsey Venture Bros has this theme of failure and disappointment. The Guild and OSI are basically a bunch of manchildren playing dress up so it's not surprising that they do fuck ups like that.
The rest of the Guild was busy dealing with a war with OSI on Gargantua 2 and Sovereign killing off the rest of the council. Plus he was considered dead at the hands of Brock
This was the culmination of everything. Everything that had been going down in the background throughout the show's run, and it all came together. The smallest things suddenly actually meant something, and everything was connected. Everything goofy turned serious. And the scope of everything up to this point dawned on you, for the moment Morpho suited up to finally take on Venture.
There were two ways of looking at that scene: -Jonas made Monarch's mom fertile with some super science thing and took Kano as payment -Jonas figured Blue Morpho was sterile, promised to help them out, banged one out with his wife and then took Kano as payment Either way, Jonas Venture is a scuzzy prick.
David Reynolds I would like it if Morpho was Monarch's father. But since Morpho replied to Jonas with "Bad Friend", it seems like it's the second option
After heavy research and finally tieing a few loose ends together, it has become evident that Jonas Venture Sr. was actually 100% Force Majure (previous Sovereign of the Guild), which he may have kept low key, possibly even appearing as an anonymous head like his successor, the late great Mr. Bowie. The Movie night massacre was actually Bowie’s chance to usurp Jonas (Majure), hence as he stated, he killed his predecessor on multiple occassions making it appear that Vendatta was the one who did it despite the latter having no recollection of doing so? Bowie being a notorious, and talented shapeshifter jumped at the opportunity his Guild members created and most likely used a different guise, probably even Vendatta at one point once inside the space station and did the deed. This not only allowed him to terminate Jonas and claim the title, but also use the ammo from the event to incite the Pyramid wars in order to kill two birds with one stone while making it appear he had no involvement in the movie night massacre himself. We also all know that the Venture family has ties to the guild sovereign position which would also make 100% sense that Jonas inheritted the title. Too add more fuel to my theory, Jonas being the leader of “The Boys Brigade” that supposedly involved it’s members being kidnapped and held at Majure’s headquarters has Jonas written all over it considering he probably interaccted with it’s members, Prof. Richard Impossible and Phantom Limb as well and easily pulled it off to probably ensure that people wouldn’t put two and two together about his second identity. Any thoughts on this theory, let me know. But lets be real, the way Hammer and Publick tie all loose ends in their storyline, I can def see this being the main plot of the movie.
The problem is that the sovereign was already in charge of the guild before Jonas died. On top of that, he has relatively open about killing his predecessor(albert without details), where as Movie Night's culprit is largely a mystery, but assumed to be Vendata, not the Sovereign.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jonas sabotaged blue morphos plane. Perhaps blue morpho was going to come clean to the public about Jonas, because he was tired of being blackmailed. Jonas when he realized later on morpho was really getting his memories back, that’s why he yells out “nooooooo” before trying to kill him asap.
I think it's crazy that they included the date for the Movie Night Massacre in his flashback as Vendata. I'm certain they mentioned that date before and they just threw out a subtle hint that the Blue Morpho was at that event.
No one at Don Hell's cared that a councilman of the Guild was assaulted in their bathroom and neither did anyone who saw him walking during those 1700 plus miles between that joint and his old home.
Councilmen were anonumous among rest of the guild, so nobody would care that some random android got his ass kicked in a bar brawl. Why nobody bothered Vendata on the way to Newark? Let's treat it as temporary plot armor.
This seasons opening 3 episodes pretty much ended a lot of storylines and answered offically some big questions mainly What happened to Jonas Venture Sr, but one answer remain to be answered from past seasons: Who caused the Movie Night Massacre? and I think a lot of us have an idea who has.
Okay I have never watched this series before, so this might just be my imagination, but does this guy remind anyone of Robocop. With him coming to his old home and finding everything (except for the hideout) changed?
This was a huge nod to the original robocop scene when murphy regains his memories
Never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it that does look exactly like that scene
Now it's Blue Murphy!
Holy shit that has to be why he was called the *Blue* Morpho and why Vendetta is blue!
Sherlock here got a case of the no shits.
So he's a parody of both robocop and the green hornet.
Z who wipes his mind of all memories, disappears, reappears as an amnesiac villain, confronts Jonas and kills him (or so he thought) in the Movie Night Massacre, gets his memories back after almost being destroyed by Brock without provocation, goes home to a long-empty house, then finally confronts Jonas Again, who tries to trick Morpho to steal his robot body to house his own brain which will kill Morpho once again, and then he and Jonas are finally killed in their final confrontation.

gentleman maniac that’s what I’m going with they, as they doo share actual traits maybe it’s like dio where his sons are like partially his and partially Johnathan’s.
I want to see Kano getting rusty, monarch, and Morpho all together for a little chat.
Oh come on he had a fricking V on his belt. BLUE attire. Old? No way he wasn't related to Jonas. I'll admit pointing him to morpho was harder at the time but it was obvious there was more to his appearance then what was led on
The plane crash line from S5 pretty much confirmed Vendata to be Monarch's father.
@@Jennyfoxeh In the episode that Brock took down Vendata, it was already mentioned that he was built by Jonas and was turned evil. The Guild didn't know that, but the OSI did.
lol you are all idiots .. Blue Morpho isnt Monarch's father .. Jonas is or were you all to stupid to pick up on that in season 8
Blue Morpho died killing the greatest villain the world has never known: Jonas Venture

I can't belive it blue spy from the game TF2 is in this show
I think Killer Drone may have been the Blue Morpho’s Joker. He’s always on the loose.
It would have been Killer Moth, another Batmna Villain
Always wondered who that cyborg guy was and why he had a Venture logo.
I love the fact that Killer Drone would've been wearing the same costume that Pete White had to wear to "fight" St Cloud. They say in that episode that the costume belonged to Killer Drone
1:34 Damn they really gave Vendata some robocheeks huh?
My biggest problem with this show is the writers took forever to tell this story. There's no way they wrap the many plotholes in one movie but we take what we can. Seriously, why did they take forever to tell this story on a cartoon series? Sitcoms don't last as long as they did.
its probably about money.
Cartoons are expensive
There really is no better character building in an animated series, Venture Bros is seriously the best.
I'm glad Paul F Tompkins is getting more bigger gigs
Let’s just gloss over the fact that Brock KOed Robocop through a door
He survived in space without a suit nd only had a frozen blood snot rocket as an injury. He also killed two dudes using his ass and one of the dudes.
Yeah, I had to Google it to completely make sure that's whst it was referencing, but yup, it's the Brotherhood bunker
0:25 Is that the Brother Hood of Steel Bunker?!
Man wonder how Brock would feel if he realized kicking Vendata accidentally had him start one hell of a a Domino.
I love how they used the design of the Brotherhood of Steel bunker from Fallout 1 for the entrance, really caught me off guard the first time I watched this
this season was in 2018, its 2020 and we havent heard a peep from the new season. i know its been confirmed, but not even a trailer yet. and thats just par for the course as a venture bros fan, we got like 7 seasons in 17 years...and rick and morty fans think they have it rough. sheesh.
For real! It takes a lot of loyalty/patience to be a Venture Bros fan...I'm pretty sure that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer are the only two guys doing the writing, so it kinda makes sense. Still though, only 7 seasons during its 16 year run is pretty brutal.
So true, so many R&M fans were freaking out over the "see ya in a year and a half or longer" joke in S2 but watching Venture Bro.s since S1 it's like "it be like than sometimes man"
It never ceases to amaze me how idiots bring up Rick and morty when it has absolutely nothing to do with anything that is being talked about.
Welp it got cancelled
It's been two years and public said he new about it months ago that's my one gripe with the venture bros it takes forever I could write a whole season so easy
I live like 30 minutes from that exit sign. You head to Route 80 east either from 280 or Route 46 to head over to Newark Airport. Traffic isn't usually bad going there. Weekdays in the afternoon heading east there's hardly any traffic. Only when you're heading west during early afternoons because that's when the New York desk jockeys clock out and swarm the highway heading back home.
The theories...they were all true
that moment when Brock literally knocks the past life into a guy
The Venture Brothers is one of the greatest adult cartoons ever made. If you don't agree. I will take my 69 Charger (yes I have one) and chase you down.
I feel sorry for his death at the very end :'(
Been stated numerous times he and jonas are not dead. In his case he is out of commission
VB is known for bringing back characters. I doubt that after keeping us waiting for what happened to Jonas Sr. and Vendata and Blue Morpho, they'd just kill them off within a few episodes. They'll be back. Just you wait.
the OSI did take possesion of their remains ...
I cant belive the blue morhpo is vendata
Vendata
dude, me too! did not see this coming! god i love a good twist, it always blows my mind! :D
Late for the party:
Rose Quartz WAS ACTUALLY PINK DIAMOND?!
I like how the way he moves his lip is similar to the monarch
That's why i don't buy the theory that jonas is monarchs actual father

Maybe he did both. Knocked up Monarch's mom, and added in the Blue Morpho's genes so as to cover his tracks.

Murphy, is that you? I mean Morpho
And holy shit I thought he was the test pilot from the first season. The one that kept screaming all the time. I knew Jonas had attempted to cyborg someone and failed and it was someone close to the Venture family I just didn't know who.
April 9, 1987
The day Jonas Venture.....well, died seems slightly _wrong_
Lost his body and got put in suspended animation, but as far as the world was concerned, died.
Ok, so if Monarch is Jonas' kid, how does Malcom have the same allergy as Blue Morpho?
One thing doesn't make sense, why does Vendata see his own memories in the third person?
It's for the sake of the viewer and a visual metaphor for how Blue Morpho/Venturion still isn't fully connecting with his old identity and past

I think it's another unseen character who will be revealed in this season or another...But I feel as though this person is connected to OSI...OSI now has
1. Rusty Venture's confiscated cloning technology
2. The DNA of Jonas Venture Sr and the Blue Morpho
3. The machines that they were connected to that preserves their thoughts and memories....
These 3 facts lead me to believe that Blue Morpho and Jonas Sr. will be resurrected in clone bodies for some sort of purpose....perhaps in fixing the damaged Orb

This bunker looks like it was from Fallout 1 game.
Who else but The Venture Brothers could satire The Green Hornet, Robocop, and Johnny Quest into a completely twisted redefinition in a cartoon?
Is the thing with him getting his memories back in screwy flashes supposed to be a Robocop parody?
So, let me guess this clear, Vendatta was missing for all that time and granted the Guild had some hiccups so they didn't have time to mount a search for him but none of the OSI could track him down as he walked all that way to his old home?
This plus "Bowie" trying to evade the Investors by eradicating the other council members, and Gargantua-2 (only for Headshot to take him out)
@@SuperWolsey Venture Bros has this theme of failure and disappointment.
Ok no joke: Blue Morpho/Monarch Mom is damn hot

I did 3njoy this show, but it always felt like the writers were making it up as they went along and it took me out of it.
I believe they admitted that they did exactly that
I just realized that the entrance to that area is a Fallout 1 reference.
Mrs Fitzcarraldo’s so pretty! They make a cute couple. ❤️
4/9/87 I just realized the flashback had a time and date, it's amazing the amount of detail but now I can piece together how old everyone is.
Mr. Peanutbutter was Blue Morpho? WHAT IS THIS?
That awkward point in your life where Brock Samson happens to you.
A lot of people think jonas venture is monarchs real father but monarch and blue morpho look alike
There were two ways of looking at that scene:
-Jonas made Monarch's mom fertile with some super science thing and took Kano as payment
-Jonas figured Blue Morpho was sterile, promised to help them out, banged one out with his wife and then took Kano as payment
Either way, Jonas Venture is a scuzzy prick.

I hate theories and Chaz already debunked it. Nice try
Its an amazing easter egg that 1766 miles from his house is the location of the club.
I just like how the monarch looks so simular to his mother
So, did Monarch & Gary just /never/ open that third pod with the spare costume? They weren't even curious about it?!
Woah what if vendata confronted jonas during movie night and that’s what lead to the hatch being opened
Is that a bunker from fallout?
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jonas sabotaged blue morphos plane.
Perhaps blue morpho was going to come clean to the public about Jonas, because he was tired of being blackmailed.
Jonas when he realized later on morpho was really getting his memories back, that’s why he yells out “nooooooo” before trying to kill him asap.
I think it's crazy that they included the date for the Movie Night Massacre in his flashback as Vendata. I'm certain they mentioned that date before and they just threw out a subtle hint that the Blue Morpho was at that event.
I see they used the old Zorro cartoon as reference. Nice.
Either that or the green hornet
more so Robocop
Is that the house from Fight Club?
BLUE MORPHO REMINDS ME OF ROBOCOP
No one at Don Hell's cared that a councilman of the Guild was assaulted in their bathroom and neither did anyone who saw him walking during those 1700 plus miles between that joint and his old home.
Councilmen were anonumous among rest of the guild, so nobody would care that some random android got his ass kicked in a bar brawl. Why nobody bothered Vendata on the way to Newark? Let's treat it as temporary plot armor.
The Guild seemed to believe that he had been killed by Brock

TheBlackDragonKnight It was Vendata, he intentionally opened the airlock
