Lots of work - but it had to be done. Your boys help a lot - one big happy and blessed family. Love your vlogs.

Thanks for doing all the hard work of getting the boys outfitted for the season. In Alaska there is no bad weather, just bad clothing choices.
    Looking forward to winter adventures.

Wow all the gear so expensive!! Guess if I ever get the opportunity the visit Alaska I better go in the summer months we don’t get a lot of snow here in Alabama. Loved seeing the boys helping cook dinner. So many families do not have to time or care to do dinner together, I think that it is so important. Was laughing when the boys were horse playing must get very crazy around there with all those boys. Thanks for sharing!! See y’all in the next video

I would have never thought one of the hardest parts of having so many kids would be clothing them 🤦‍♀️ I feel like since August I've been going through clothes that were given to us, looking for their sizes for winter stuff. Trying to make sure we have enough pants, long sleeves, warm PJs for everyone. Then going through their winter stuff. I thought we were all set and then I'm realizing as we start wearing it that we are still missing pieces. 😬 And remembering that I need snow stuff for myself to go out with them! It's very overwhelming and anxiety inducing. Our current house lacks storage. I feel like I need a separate room for off season clothing. 😳

Hello Kate! We have never had to deal with mice in the basement but have had them in the garage. Had to do good ol' peanut butter on traps. Thanks for watching Kate!

    Hi Friends,
Luna is like the little Girl you don't have!! She's craves your attention it fills my heart with joy. Oh l remember those "in between" pre teen size issues all to well with 5 boys, at one point literally everything they wore looked ridiculous, too long, too baggy "not quite right" but they grew into them, lve never had such issues with pre teen Girl (except for the inappropriate style for her age if you know what l mean). Can we just appreciate the food storage in the basement!! It's so hard for me to imagine needing to do that like you need to in Alaska. Everett's little snow suit is the cutest, the boys looked great in the new gear as well. Great job Mum you are so organised 👍

You may want to consider LL Bean for the kids.
Off season can also be up to 45% off so you plan a head a bit.
You like me still face snow and cold during their off season.
They also last more than 1 season to pass down.
I don't like paying full price for anything, but the kids prices are more reasonable than you shared.
    Take care

I love seeing all the different stores. So much variety but some of the prices are crazy. I know how it is trying to find the right sizes for clothes my 6 year old goes through clothes so fast she's already in a 14/16 😯 they fit her good but some are way too long especially the pants. Thanks for taking us along on your journey 🙂 hope for a happy winter

I love Facebook market for winter items. Mens medium on the pants works for
my teens (15,13,11) who are not wearing sizes in the boys section and mens large is a comfortable size for them in the shirts.

Not really but I should. Pre-covid I was much better about getting used stuff. There is a indoor garage sale once a month near my house that we got good gear at. I have gotten out of the habit!

@@ThisAlaskaLife We have what's called Agape Houses here. They are resale shops that are charity based. They help pay utility bills, rent, etc. They also help with clothing, home goods, furniture if a family lost their home in a fire/flood, etc. I love to shop and donate there. I always know that my money or my old clothing/home goods/books, etc are going to a place that is helping people rather than just lining somebody's pockets. Each year before Christmas, my kids and now my grandkids and I go through all of their older, but still in great condition toys to donate. Also, each season when clothes are gone through, we donate them there. During the Christmas season we donate our time also. I love for the grandkids to see that even though they have been through some hard times,(their mother died in a car accident approx 4 years ago), that there really are kids out there that have a much harder life.

I’ve never seen a basement like that! Is it more like a crawl space? Either way - what a blessing to have all that space down there for storage! We just pulled all our winter stuff out last week - Winter officially arrived here yesterday in WINTERPEG (Winnipeg) 🥶❄️

    • @ThisAlaskaLife
      @ThisAlaskaLife  3 роки тому +3

It is a crawl space but we are lucky that it is very deep so we don’t have to actually crawl. We just got a new snow storm last night here. Stay warm!

Wow! I hate crawl spaces as storage. How do you deal with the spiders? I noticed sharp nails right above your head too, Be careful, tetanus is a bad thing. I think I would get hubby to build an outdoor storage shed or one attached to the patio or porch. Be safe! Love your videos!

    • @ThisAlaskaLife

I really have never seen any spiders down there but I am sure there could be some. It is pretty chilly down there. We do have a few storage sheds but keep different things out there. Doesn't having a family take so much stuff!!! Thank you so much for watching, I am so grateful you are here!
