- After selling on eBay, Poshmark, and Etsy since the late 90's, Melody and I have learned a lot an awful lot about sourcing. In this video, I show you exactly how we find those items that are special and rare while you are out doing your regular picking. We cover SO much that I have broken this down into 2 parts! Part 2 will be uploaded next week.

AND...for anyone who has actually read to the bottom of the description, here's a link to the book I wrote for Melody way back on our 25th wedding anniversary. It isn't reselling related, but it's definitely about the two of us. It is light-hearted and a SUPER easy read. More fun than educational.

Scotty, I love that T-shirt your wearing...what an awesome show it was...
I LOVED that show. Truly. Funny story about the shirt. I was wearing it at the Bins last year and one of the young t-shirt guys noticed it. He said, "I loved that band!" I just said, "Me too!"
Always enjoy your video's and your delivery...tks
I appreciate that!
Excellent. I loved part 2 and can't wait for part 3. Russ
I'm working on editing it now. :-)
fort worth thats my home town!!
i really appreciate your videos and I've listed my first 9 items today.
How do I get from feeling guilty for charging top dollar? I tend to leave a little wiggle room so others can make a little extra
"cha-ching" if they resell.
I'm trying to have a mentality that i am a "personal shopper" for potential buyers that don't do all the leg work... but I still feel guilty 🥴
Remember, when you go out and find thing, prepare them to be listed and them create a listing so that others can find them...you have added value to the item that didn't exist without you. There's no guilt for that. Most people appreciate that you've done the work that they either couldn't, or wouldn't, do.
Hello
Hello Scott: Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I've learned a great deal from them. There's only one thing you haven't covered: how to transfer photos from a phone (I have a Samsung) to one's computer in order to add them to an eBay listing. Could you possibly do a step-by-step tutorial on how to do this? I'm planning on doing my first listing in late February. I don't have a clue as to how to do a photos transfer--have scoured the internet for this information but haven't found anything that's helpful or clearly explained. I am frankly terrified at the prospect of doing my first listing without knowing how to add photos. I'm hoping you can help. I'd be so grateful if you could.
Thank you for the kind comment! I will try to put a video together for that. You are not the first to ask...so...it's time.
I look forward to it. THANK YOU!!!!!@@TheChaChingKing
Tell me where all the rare items are Scott!! Show me where you buried them all! Lol. Great info!
LOL. The rare items will be at your next pick!
Hey Scott. I love the resale job. I'm going to try and make a little extra $ to pay off medical bills. Could you tell me how much I could sell each month or year to not have to claim it on my taxes? Thank you for all of your vailable information.
I'm not a tax guy at all. You really need to talk to a tax professional. I send tax questions to @notyourdadscpa here on UA-cam. He knows his stuff. I will say that as soon as I knew that I was reselling for a profit, I started claiming the income...long before I got a 1099.
Why do Seiko fetch so much money in the US? Here in the UK we can pick up Seiko Automatics all day long for around £50 - £60
It varies a lot from watch to watch. These were late 60's watches. I think they even had names. Like...62mas, the Pogue, the Pepsi...etc. Not every Seiko automatic has that kind of value. But they are worth looking up. It only takes one! :-)
Hello, Scott! Please tell me, if in Policy shipping you indicate a service in the column, for example, Ground Advantage and Priority Mail, then Priority Mail includes both regular priority shipping and Flat rate envelopes and boxes? Or do I need to create a separate policy for Flat rate envelopes and boxes? Thank you.
I would create separate policies for the Priority flat rate services that you use fairly often. I use a lot of Priority Flat Rate padded envelopes. It's just handy to have a policy ready for that.
@@TheChaChingKing Thank you very much, Scott! Please also tell me, advise, if it’s not difficult for you, what’s the best way to do it - create a separate policy for Ground Advantage only, a separate one for simple Priority Mail and a separate one for Priority Mail Flate rate envelopes and boxes? Or is it better to combine one policy, like Ground/Priority, and the second, like Priority mail flat rate? To make a policy for Priority mail Flat rate envelope, flat rate padded envelope and flat rate boxes, do they all need to be specified separately or can they be called in one word so that it is only for Priority mail flat rate both envelopes and boxes?
Scot, how did you make out with the poly bag shipping dimensions research?
I use the largest dimension it would fill. If the envelope is 12x9, I know it won't be bigger than that. So, I'm basically adding the thickness.
@@TheChaChingKing If you are using the flat poly bag dimensions, I.e., 12x9, and then adding a third dimension greater than 0, it's very likely you are significantly overpaying cubic rate postage on flat polybag mailed items.
@@Patricia.resells Mine don't end up flat at all. And, I don't use poly bags for anything large at all. The dimensions haven't changed my charges. It's almost always under a cubic foot and goes by weight.
"Determining Cubic Tier Measurement for Soft Pack and Padded Envelopes
Cubic tier measurements for soft pack and padded envelopes are based on the outside dimensions of length plus width, in inches, of the flat original packaging material before it is loaded with items.
Measure the length and width separately in inches.
Round down each measurement to the nearest 1/4 inch. For example, 10-1/8 inches is rounded down to 10 inches.
Add the two measurements and use the tables below, depending on mail class, to determine which cubic tier applies.
Note: There are different dimension values for each Soft Pack and Padded Envelope tier between Priority Mail and USPS Ground Advantage.
