I want to let you know that I have never decoupage anything in my life. After watching you I decided to try it. I did a vase from dollar tree and it came out beautiful. Thank you for inspiring me.
I have never seen anyone use the mulberry paper to decoupage. Very interesting. I will definitely be trying this technique. Thank you for sharing. I do like the craft table the way you have it. It is easy to see exactly what you are doing. Looking forward to more of your videos.
I love to watch your videos! I just wish you made more of them. You are very easy to understand and your instructions are very helpful. Kudos on the crafting table.
Hi Sheena! I have a couple links below the video in comments. I bought white which came in a roll, very inexpensive! Also a multi color pack. It’s a fun technique, you can create so very elegant pieces! Thank you for watching! - Joan 🙂
I just saw your video on this decoupage for glass votive holders and love the process. I did it for the first time, and they turned out beautifully. I made a second set using a little larger pair, then did a reverse decoupage using your same technique on a large glass jar. All turned out great and really fun to do. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I love your work!
Thank you so much for letting me know how much you are enjoying mulberry paper, one of my favorite mediums! I’m glad my tutorials are helpful! - Joan 🙂
Thank you for sharing with us. I tried my first decoupage this past Thanksgiving and it turned out good, so good my daughter in law wanted one also. I liked both styles of the candle holders. I am from South Carolina and I enjoy your posts.
Love the mulberry paper. I’m new to this and can’t wait to get started. Your videos are great and you do an excellent job at instructing every step of the way. Thank you.
I was decoupaging all wrong until I found you! SO happy to have found your channel Joan Marie 🤗 Your videos are so easy to follow, your hints and tips very useful, and love the varied projects. I’ve become a decoupage addict, with jars, place mats, wooden slices etc, my favourite at the moment is decoupaging with some beautiful Robin napkins. Thank you Joan Marie, you are truly inspirational 🥰
Hi Joan! Thank you so much for you very kind words! I agree that decoupage is addictive, could be worse things..lol...thank you for watching and happy Holidays! 🙂 Joan

I'm so glad to have found you on You Tube! You are very easy to listen to and simple instructions. Thank you for all your "tips". I'm excited to get started! ❤️🌻
Have used napkins on birthday/Christmas cards only, seeing these stunning candle jars I’m going to try that out, looks really easy. I always reuse my candle jars with tea lights covering them will make them beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Joan-Marie. Thank you for all your wonderful tutorials. I made the peat pot Easter baskets and they turned out so cute. I also made some votives and small bouquet vases using Oui yogurt glasses. All inspired by you! I don’t know if you’ve tried this so please bear with me if you have but I want to pass it along to you if you haven’t. I kept wondering what to do with the unused napkin plies and have come up with an idea that worked very well. I took Memento stamp ink and stamped some of my favorite stamps onto the blank plies. I used an Alice in Wonderland set along with large blooms from napkins and decorated the glass jars as you taught. They turned out great and I gave them away. Thank you for all the fun and fun to do ideas. I really enjoy your teaching style and Stan’s ace videography. You make a good team!
I learned to do a little decoupage last year and want to learn more. I've never heard of Mulberry paper so I will be trying projects using it soon. Thank you for sharing your talent and giving simple instructions to follow. I will definitely be watching more of your video's. Rebecca
You are amazing! I have started on my chalk painting my jars to decoupage them. Right now waiting a few days for them to dry. I'm doing some everyday that way I have some in different stages like you said. Yes I do love your crafting corner!
Hi! Thank you so much for the very kind words! I’m so impatient I need to have lots of projects going at once so Im glad that is helping you too! Thank you so much for watching! - Joan 😃

Hi Susan! Thank you so much for the input, I try to do the best I can for my viewers to learn! Oui glasses would be so cute, thank you for watching! - Joan 🙂🌻
Hi! I have never tried this with dried flowers. I would put the dried flowers on top of the mulberry paper. Sounds like a lovely project, I hope you give it a try and let me know how it works out!
Hello Joan-Marie, I just discovered your channel today and I love what you do. I hope to get into some decoupage at some point and I love your ideas. I also checked out vippies also. Do they have a nice array of napkins and reasonable. I bought plates last year thinking I would get some done but unfortunately it fell by the wayside. I subscribed so I can keep up with your wonderful hobby. Thank you!
If you don't like baby/hand wipes, you could get a sponge and dampen it and put it in a bowl. Wipe your fingers on that! When we were small and went for days out our mum would keep a wet sponge in a plastic bag. Great for sticky fingers.
Hi! That’s a great idea, I will do that at home. I can’t do that while taping a video, that could be a disaster!! Lol 😂 Thank you so much for the tips, I will pass it along! - Joan 🌻
TYFS - I love the rice bag idea 👍🏻👍🏻! These turned out so cute! These scream Fall to me & in my opinion, you could certainly place them anywhere in your home. I looked at your drop down box just to see when you uploaded this video & to see your supplies list & I noticed that you listed water pens. I clicked the link to make sure that I was thinking of the same item 🤓. I was pleasantly surprised 🤗 to find that it is similar to the Dollar Tree Crafters Square 2pk of water pens that I recently purchased. I’m not sure if you are aware that this item is available at Dollar Tree so this is a heads up that they do carry them.
Hi Ann! It’s rice paper that I used in this video. I heard about the water pens I only recommend what I have actually used and I have not tried those yet! Thank you for watching! - Joan 😃
Hi! Yes you can certainly tear tissue paper and decoupage using the same method. Tissue paper doesn’t have the threads and fiber so the look will be different. Sounds like fun to try! Let me know how it goes! - Joan 🙂
These are so pretty! I like the look of the mulberry paper. You did a good job! I would like to do an oil lamp chimney I already have. I only keep the oil lamp for emergencies and have never used it so far. Do you think if I decoupaged it in this manner, that I could burn the oil lamp and the decoupage would still be okay? Guess I could try it and see!
Does the gloss varnish keep the glass from being sticky afterwards? I recently moved and wrapped all of my decoupage glasses in paper. I had not covered them with a varnish and the paper stuck to all of my glasses!
Hi Anne! The gloss varnish should not be sticky. Sometimes it takes a few days to a week for any sealant to cure. I wrap things in wax paper just to be on the safe side. Sorry this happened to you. - Joan 💕
Hi Julie! I use sandpaper from time to time. I use it to rough up paint to give it age. Sometimes I will sand between coats of sealant. A couple coats of sealants between sanding. I do this till it’s nice and smooth mostly on fabric. Joan
Do you ever put together any kits of your leftovers and maybe some mulberry paper? Hi Sue! No not really. I made some copies of photos using my laser printer and put them on a tin can. I’m just not working on photographs yet. Sorry I can’t be helpful in this case. Joan
Does the napkin have to have a white background? For example in my case, I used a napkin with a beige background and now I’m trying to figure out if I should redo the project and cut the napkin or blend the colors into the mulberry. But I’m afraid I’ll loose the fibrous pattern of the mulberry paper
Hi Miriam! Ideally using white under a napkin with a white background blends in better. However let’s try to save this first. If you have a paint in a very very similar color of the napkin background you can do a very light sponging around the napkin onto the mulberry paper. Don’t cover all the mulberry paper just in spots. If you don’t like how that looks then you need to cut the napkin close so you don’t see the edge, good luck! - Joan 🙂
@@JoanMarieDomino Thank you for the reply. I’ll try blending from dark to light then finally to white so it can blend with the mulberry paper. If all fails, at least I learned I lesson 😄. Decoupage is all about trial and error. Thank you again ♥️
Joan-Marie do you have a link to the roll of mulberry paper you purchase on Amazon? I bought a pack of sheets and they are so thin you can barely see them
I have another question? I placed an order from Vippies on August 2 and they received my order but how long does it take to get your items because it said I would receive notification when it ships. Still haven't gotten that yet.

I tried mulberry paper for the first time. I printed a butterfly butterfly design I created myself through canva. I thought it was recommended to paint the jar first with white chalk paint, then let dry overnight. I did that and added the mulberry paper. It tuned out amazing until I added fairy lights. It looks horrible, but I really wanted lights or a tea candle. It shows a bumch of lines, and you can't see the butterfles. Any recommendations on how to achieve this? 😢
There is NO painting when using mulberry paper, I don’t recommend paint in any of my mulberry paper videos. You may be able to wash everything off with hot soapy water. - Joan
Angie you don’t use paint with mulberry paper because you won’t see all the threads and filaments. I’m assuming you are just decoupaging a jar? Anyway, good luck and have fun! 🙂
Omg, I did try to copy you with rice paper. Well, I put the rice paper overlapping too much😢 Now I can hardly see the beautiful Xmas things I have. Are they anyway I can salvage this plate? Thank you for helping me again, 2nd time!!!!
You will have to soak off the rice paper and re-do not overlapping so much. Plus I am using mulberry paper. I’m sorry I don’t know anyway you can save the plate once it’s done. 😕 Joan
I love to decoupage but have never used mulberry paper, so thank you for the instructions for beginners! Is your Facebook group still active? I submitted a request to join a few weeks ago and it's still pending. Would love to see other projects!

I want to start using mulberry paper but I can’t spend $26. Is there anywhere else you can get a smaller amount to try it.
Hi Nancy! I think you can get smaller quantities. Google Mulberry paper and I think a bunch of suppliers will pop up. Joan 🙂
- Joan
@@JoanMarieDomino I found the issue. I painted jar with a brush with white chalk paint instead of dabbing it.
Angie you don’t use paint with mulberry paper because you won’t see all the threads and filaments. I’m assuming you are just decoupaging a jar? Anyway, good luck and have fun! 🙂
Where can I get mulberry paper, can someone tell me? Thank you.

Omg, I did try to copy you with rice paper. Well, I put the rice paper overlapping too much😢 Now I can hardly see the
beautiful Xmas things I have. Are they anyway I can salvage this plate? Thank you for helping me again, 2nd time!!!!
You will have to soak off the rice paper and re-do not overlapping so much. Plus I am using mulberry paper. I’m sorry I don’t know anyway you can save the plate once it’s done. 😕 Joan
I got mulberry paper from Amazon but it’s an off white it doesn’t look as nice as the white can you put up a link for the one you have please
Hi Jane! I put the link in the description, that is the one I used in the video. - Joan
Here is the link to the white mulberry paper. This is exactly what I used and I double checked for you! amzn.to/3wizEy8 🙂🌻- Joan
If you decide to keep the off white see if you have any napkins with an off white background. - Joan
I love to decoupage but have never used mulberry paper, so thank you for the instructions for beginners! Is your Facebook group still active? I submitted a request to join a few weeks ago and it's still pending. Would love to see other projects!
Hi Linda! Yes my Facebook is live and well! I will have to check for your name, thank you for watching! - Joan🙂
