I think you have a very "pictorial" ear. Your words convey the images and atmospheres of the music very well. You're one of the few of your kind to do it with accuracy and sensitivity. And you obviously do your homework beforehand. You know what you're talking about and you do it admirably. Well done.

Having seen Steve many times this is always one of the highlights of the show. The relentless second part of this is just so powerful. Voyage Of The Acolyte is nearly 50 years old and this still stands up so well. Nick Beggs going crazy here on the bass pedals too adds to its power. This was one of the pieces of music that was put forward to Genesis and was rejected. It was co-written by Mike, it has that wonderful pure 70s authentic prog presence about it and is always superb. Great to see you enjoying it so much.

Saw Steve and the lads in 2018 and they are returning in APRIL to Mexico City for the Foxtrot tour. You have to be in the theater to appreciate the power and the glory of Hierophant because of its growing forte dynamic. It is visceral and damned emotional. Steve puts more emotion into every performance than most guitarists who can barely eek out a few emotional moments in their playing.

Gary O'Toole has been his drummer (and a pretty good singer too) many years, and even when he plays the Genesis songs you're not even aware phil collins isn't playing. Amanda, amazing. Nick Beggs.. look him up bro. Also a musician in his instrument's top tier. As, IMHO, is Roger King. You accidentally mentioned Nad Sylvan there, watch some of Hackett's live performances of early Genesis songs where Nad does the vocals. You'll be surprised.

The drummer is one of those who still uses "traditional grip". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grip_(percussion)
Thought you'd heard of that as a drummer.

The song is from the first solo project from Genesis named Voyage Of Te Acolyte from 1975. The original drummer on Steve's album was Phil Collins. This song is not to be listened to if someone is recked out of their mind.

Some songs grab you emotionally by the throat. This is one of them... Besides Amanda Lehmann, his sister-in-law, doing a beautiful rendition, also pay attention to the great bass guitar skills of Nick Betts. You know that bassist from the pop band Kajagoogoo, with that song Too Shy from the '80s.....

Yes, this is sooo wrong. It's not Amanda Lehmann's fault though. This song was written for Sally Oldfield who is a soprano. Lehmann is an alto, she can't reach those high notes without straining her voice. Lehmann is not at Sally Oldfield's level of course but very few singers are. She's still a very good singer when she can sing in a range she's comfortable with, just listen to "Memory Lane" for example.
