Can we appreciate all the work that went into this sequence? It was probably a hard sell to the production department, but it really paid off. It helps to underline Joey's humiliation.

Its not like those times were ancient. They still had colour film but so keep the expenses some companies prefer to print in black and white. Many still do. Taking pics on colour films has its advantages like you can make the end result monochromed or coloured

Well, when actors play doctors in medical series there are unfortunately many people who ask them for advice in medical issues, therefore I find it pretty plausible.
Yes I thought that too but o realized the average person is not aware they hire models for these campaigns they assume they are real people. Which isn’t unfounded to think; campaigns for things like diabetes and breast cancer really do use real patients, so there was just confusion. As for Joey’s family that’s just ignorance about how someone actually GETS VD. they were probably scared he was gonna leave it on the toilet seat lol.
