Can someone please explain the origin of CDC? Do they make knives, or did they just put their scales on other knives? When did they start their business? Do they do colors other than sprinkles? I know they have been around for a little while but they're relatively new to me. Thanks.
This is going to be a bit of a long comment, but here goes 😆
Luke and Drew are the founders. Drew is law enforcement, and Luke works in corrections, so the donut theme just fit. They started during the pandemic, so that's why they chose the name Crispy Donut Community to be CDC for short to play on that fact.
Yes, they have their own "in-house" designs done by Luke, which are OEM'd by different manufactures (Hanson, Hanson pry, Salem, Chicago, Salvation, Hanson Premium, and Outbreak)
They also work with LOTS of other manufacturers for exclusives. They don't simply put their scales on other knives. They work with their team to choose the right knife or product and the best way to incorporate their style into it.
They have also worked with several other small USA makers such as Carbon Honey, Wicked Wax, and All American Maker for things like pivot oil, blade wax, and candles, respectively.
They also offer patches, hanks, coins, beads, etc. All done in collaboration with other companies or using in-house designs.
There are many color variants for their knives, as well as some options on the premium knives, to not have sprinkles at all. The best way to see what all they offer is to check out their social media pages. You can find it all on donutknife.com
