There was a glitch in the game where if you play a night home game with the Giants the turf would be grass. Giants stadium wouldn’t switch to a grass surface full time until the 2000 season.
It's easier to run the ball on madden 97
Cheating ass madden. I used to play this game religiously and figured out the game was programming me to lose on every down. I just had to get lucky when I threw a open pass to whatever receiver and hope the ball didn't bounce off the receivers hands directly to the cornerback for a interception. Then there's the run game where your only allowed one touch and you get knocked down by any defender. But then computer gets the ball goes for a run and gets 3-8 yards every carry, open hole for a run down the field breaking tackles from the line men and the cornerbacks for a easy 65 yrd run touchdown.
Madden 98 and 99 for ps1.
Madden 2002 2004 2007 2009 on ps2 were all cheating ass games. Play buccaneers vs raiders on 2004 with all Madden difficulty. You'll never win.

Lol yes man. You just described my childhood. Also, when their was a flag called the red would say “off sides-DEFENSE!” However, me and my brother thought it said “off sides POOP PANTS”. Man we cracked up and legit thought this is what the pc was programmed to say 😂
No huddle and knowing your audibles was key and the formation shifts etc. I had older cousin that figured it out on all madden level. And I would just come out with 3 plays to audible into from the same formation.

Assuming you're playing the PS1 version with default button config. You press the X button to snap the ball, then you press the X button again to bring up the pass button icons, press the corresponding button to throw to the receiver in which the button you pressed is hovering over :)
Madden 98 is one of the best Maddens ever. Definitely top 10. The only problem with this game was no juke move. The stiff arm was good , spin decent. Even your created player could be in the keys to victory. I use to be hyped. The presentation throughout the season and into the playoffs was top notch.
this game is still more realistic than Madden 24

Wouldn't really say it looks more realistic because in reality it's doesn't stand a chance but it definitely was good for its time back in the day I remember Madden 98 clearly.
