We used 0.7 as minimum retainer thickness over more than 20 years and have not seen any fractures but only debondings when traumatic events occurred. I do not know what consequences a thinner retainer wing will have but I assume fractures might occur like we have seen with weaker materials, e.g. alumina and lithium disilicate. There has been no other scientific evidence published with long-term data (10 years+).
thank you it was very informative
Thank you for sharing!
What type of cement do you usually use for each type?

Dear Professor Kern, since it is a stronger zirconia version, will 0,5-0,8mm thickness of the bonded wing be enough ?
