My birthday is 1/6 so I took this as a birthday present. Thank you. (Belated, I know.) When i think back to what Disney was doing with his full length movies (I formed my first Disney club in Kansas City, and actually sat in Walt's grade school desk and went to the movies in the same building where he did his first animations) and have studied the whole animation process for many years ... I am in awe with your skill at doing all the work, even with the kind of tool Krita is. I saw storyboarding, basic sketching, key form layout, inking, coloring, layering (simulating the multiplane camera) and compressing all the meetings, arguments, and decisions needed at each step of the way (done in your head) ... well, that would have been at least 20 people working maybe two weeks on a sequence like that one. And you would be designer, sketch and layout, key animator, fill-in artist, inker, color painter, cel manager, cameraman, lab tech, film editor, etc. all by yourself (!) with digital medium and program. Your talent and skill at this is truly amazing. BTW, I am 80 now, and I wish I had stayed with animation and art, but I wandered away into the technical end. Still, you have taken all the advantages available to you to do the impossible: better than Pixar all by yourself. (I'm assuming this is the case!) Yours is a job well done. Congratulations!

Overall great work. Lara's legs feel a bid weird after sliding, though. She kinda builds up momentum with her left leg, but she moves her left leg forward first, instead of the opposite, giving a sensation she's being pushed forward instead of actually running. Before the slide she kinda switches legs too. The first time I saw the animation in the beginning of the video I didn't noticed it directly, but I felt her motion had something off, then I understood why. Just to end on a good note, the lizard felt good, and scenario is beautiful.
@Dave Hanson Nice opinion. But I think it's because of the vibrance of the colors of the animation that isn't cohesive with the environment, thus making them "floating". The tone of the characters are like during an afternoon but the setting is set during nighttime. The animation is actually good, I don't know what made you think that it isn't good? Perhaps, your standards are just too high I guess...
Carl Naredo I’m an animation student and I can say that colour has nothing to do with the animation looking “floaty”. It’s simply due to poor timing and the feeling of weight is off when she’s running (e.g. when her foot hits the ground when she first runs into screen). I’m not looking at the final product which includes the background and colours but simply the animation test when it was fully inbetweened.
You do not have non single video where you show your skills, so how you pretend to criticize the hard work from another person if you didn't accomplish anything? ¡Give an opinion is free, but has no real value!

OMG This is epic! I really love how you animate! Your background is vert good too! You are amazing 😊 Please make an animation of alien! (It was very epic too) 😄
Great job, i enjoyed every single frame. Animating is trully an excrushiating process but the results can be amazing like in your case. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing job dude! Keep up the good work! I've been a fan of Tomb Raider since I was 4 or 3 years old back in the 90's and since then Lara has become one of my child/adulthood icons. I also appreciate you using the classic Lara instead of the reboot like everyone else.
Im actually working on an animation rn. It's the " Everything Black" meme. Watching your videos really help me relax when Im thinking about my animation and how long its gonna take to make it. Every time I think of it, I get so stressed because I'm always busy with homework or chores. Then when Im done with that all I wanna do is relax and watch yt or draw. I'm new at animation so I'm always watching videos like these. Edit: What did you use to make the screen shake? And what did you use for music? Sorry if Im asking to much 😅
idk how to do it anywhere else but in adobe after effects, i made a camera shake effect using keyframes and moving the canvas ever so slightly in different directions
Thank you so much for this video... this is one of the clearest broken down animation sequences I've ever seen and the music is the icing on top! Well done!🌹🌹
Dont be a perfectionist,if you do your brain will allways makes perfect and dont wanna fail, that causes no improvement because you wont try anything new in feir of not perfect
This flew into my recommended lol BUT w A IT, this is an amazing animation, done on Krita nonetheless! One thing was bothering me at 0:06. Her right leg should've lifted first, all her balance was transferred to her left leg when the sliding animation ended. It looks awkward boosting off of her left leg, other than that though, I love this!
Bro I liked this one for real! This is was really good I tried to give Krita a shot back in the day but it kept crashing so I stuck with my Clio studio paint! But the best animation software free hands down though!
Also check out opentoonz if you're already comfortable with clip studio paint. For me it's Krita to get comfortable animating before i try out the very complex opentoonz, though you might enjoy it.
I know this was almost a year ago, but I love it! Great job! My only critique/thing that sticks out to me is your transfer of momentum after the slide. Lara slides into scene on her right leg, then pushes off with it to begin the run towards us, when it should be the other way around. Her left leg is "loaded" with that energy, and it would be a more believable motion to explode from her left leg after the slide, then exit from that. I dont know if anyone mentioned this already, but otherwise rather impressive, and really enjoyed the step by step! I dont do animation anymore but I love seeing talented people really crushing 2D animation

This is awesome ! Nice colors good animation and even better background. 👏
watched this thing so far like 3 times and im still learning new tricks every time! so cool! thank you for existing
Happy to help!
OMG This is epic! I really love how you animate! Your background is vert good too!
You are amazing 😊
Please make an animation of alien! (It was very epic too) 😄
Thank you! If I ever think of better design of an alien, I will definitely do it. May be in the future. ;)
Brilliant! It's amazing how much work goes into these animations. 💖
Amazing work👍. Love this and can't wait to see more
Ed tadeo one day you should think of making a real anime series because your work is excellent

Getting your priorities straight :D
I knew before I even clicked...
There is actually a reason for this. its the same reason he did the pony tail separate too.

I was looking for this comment :D
I won't like this comment because it's 69
@@saya0076 bruh it's already broken, so now you just need leave a like.
Great job, i enjoyed every single frame. Animating is trully an excrushiating process but the results can be amazing like in your case. Thanks for sharing.
4:52 the face I make when I walk into the kitchen and someone’s eating my food
Amazing job dude! Keep up the good work! I've been a fan of Tomb Raider since I was 4 or 3 years old back in the 90's and since then Lara has become one of my child/adulthood icons. I also appreciate you using the classic Lara instead of the reboot like everyone else.
As expected, unbelievable amazing work! I'm looking forward to you next projects ^^
Ed you are very talented! I love the process and the end results. Thank you for sharing.
Well, the problem is that "I know how" to make animation, but I'm lazy and my drawing skills aren't good :D
Try creating organic efx like fire, smoke, water dripping, flowing or explosions. It's fun and slightly easy to do.
Hi can you watch my first animation on Krita is here ua-cam.com/video/leSfA8rLxfc/v-deo.html
Its insanely helpful to see what frames to do first and how you fill in the blanks.
Really love the slide in the first part. Great stuff
Stop it you’re going to inspire me to start another project that I know I’ll never finish
That's a lot of hard work bro. Hats off to all the animators👏👏
Great work ^^ I am always happy to see your animation process. I like how you always pay attention to detail~ Keep up the awesome work :D
Awesome sauce. Work like this deserves praise. Keep it up
So this is why some animators on youtube takes like 1 month to upload
The animation looks more better at 1.5x speed. Great job ❤️❤️
Wonderful work.
Thank you so much for this video... this is one of the clearest broken down animation sequences I've ever seen and the music is the icing on top! Well done!🌹🌹
when the lizard come to out frame, that's too slow
Amazing! Work payed off brillantly. Good show Bro!
when u finish ur 1 week making animation and forgot to save it
Even the background painting look so cool
О БОЖЕ МОЙ, КАК ВСЕ КРУТО!!!
Your concept is really great specially in the dark wood the girl is running and texture of the rocks and the tree's are look great..
If only there was a way you can create scenes in your brain that can be translated into animation.
There is, you've just seen a video of that exactly :)
The real thing I'm impressed about is how you kept the lizards design consistent!
Now I want to go home and animate so badly but I know it won't turn out good 😥😣😣😣😣
its never good to start with but the more you do it the more you find you get better a noticing how things move
Practice makes perfect!
Im horrible at drawing but I'm ready to draw and animate. It seems fun.
Aw dont worry! Practice makes perfect 😉 Also I know how you feel 😅
Dont be a perfectionist,if you do your brain will allways makes perfect and dont wanna fail, that causes no improvement because you wont try anything new in feir of not perfect
5 seconds clip and so much hard work, Now imagine Lion King and all animated movies
Top man great animation.
I gain more and more respect for Krita everyday using ut to complete my second project its an amazing program 👌🏾
its fantastic, now loop it so its just Lara and her pet running in circles.
It's crazy how work intensive this is! Great job. Sorry, I meant amazing job!! :D
Hmm sounds good imma try out opentoonz!
Which is the best..krita?
Vini Grae hmm if he can do this stuff it’s good and free!
Opentoonz always crash in my computer.
The last version Krita is very stable.
