The C5 was never made to handle roads like the stelvio pass so his complains about the handling was ridiculous. It's a car made to handle great distances in relative comfort.
I think I might have to get one. I drove my brothers one and I loved the sort of floaty feel it gave. It just soaked up the imperfections in the road. I love the look of the exterior and I would go as far as so saying that I think it is beautiful. The interior on the other hand is something I would need to get used to.
Yes, definitely not designed for handling. What it was built for is to drive you around in comfort which it does pretty well. When I drive down to Cornwall from Norfolk in a day, I get out feeling relatively good. It cruises down the motorway effortlessly and eats up the miles with ease. I have an exclusive with cruise control which makes long journeys relaxing. Not an easy car to live with at times, but I do enjoy the space and comfort.
@@SPM0717 A decade before it came out, but that doesn't mean quite a few people knew a lot earlier. The British public always knew Savile was odd but we didn't know the depths of his depravity...some did though.
Well overall I could say that cars in older days were more interesting to watch, different manufacturers had different niches or things to display for consumer. Today everything goes towards 3 cylinder hybrids and evs, the only different thing is the name attached on the front.
Fun fact - My 2003 Passas B5.5 is much larger in the back the my 2005 C5 V6. On the other side, the C5 is slighty larger in the front than the Passat. Interesting, considering that physically the C5 is larger... and 200 kg heavier.
Mine is 17 years now and still going strong :)
Mine is 19 years old and the best car I've ever had.
mine 2002 3.0 v6 manual is so precious in our times dominated by lawn mower weakling engines. maybe not the fastest, but faster than 99% of other cars

"great distances in relative comfort"... I'd better have said "in a high level of comfort"
The Mondeo could take the corners and travel in comfort, as could the Mazda 6.
a Citroen XM coudl easily handle the stelvio pass, while being more comfortable than a c5 as well

Best car I ever had. God that old Top Gear was as shite as the current one.

1:04 Actual car shows up. On top of that this is a real shitty review. It's pretty obvious that he doesn't like Citroën at all so what's the point?
Beautiful car
My parents had one from 2001, it was a nice car

What does the presenter mean by saying it requires no maintenance for the first 5 years? That doesn't sound right
