- This is a review of the DS-2CD2386G2-I(U) 8mp Acusense Camera by Hikvision.
The Acusense 8mp turret Camera reviewed here is the 2nd generation of HIkvision successful AcuSense range.
It introduces Motion Detection with simple checkboxes, that allow you to target humans or vehicles, and is rated for outdoor use with an IP rating of IP66.
With an enhanced AI chip it successfully it allows you to target either humans or vehicles for real-time security. It successfully ignores pet, bugs and shadows when creating alarm events that can be pushed to your smartphone or professional monitoring station.
With inbuilt speaker and microphone, you can engage in a 2-way conversation. It also has a flashing LED white light and audible warnings to scare away an intruder.

Your videos are excellent! I was considering a reolink 8MP 4K as the day time performance is good, but not so at night. After hearing you explain the change to the aperture for this camera to allow more light and thus providing good day and night performance, it looks like a good package. thanks!

I am curious. If someone during the night, would walk up to the camera with a bright flashlight pointed at the camera... would it get 'blinded'?

Hello, confused by the "Powered by Darkfighter" and true "Darkfighter". You said the true ones come in 5 and 7 series, do you have examples of true Darkfighter cameras?

i have the same model camera ,but mine has the motion detection red blocks ? why is that ? i thought they were for gen 1 cameras
The G2 sends only one photo via email in case of an alarm versus 3 pictures with G1 version of Acusense cameras. I looked thru all the settings but no luck. Any ideas ? Tks.

Can You please tell me what is the difference between 8MP DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL and DS-2CD2386G2-I(U)? Because I live in Europe and cannot find this model you are showing. Appreciate your help and cooperation
Do you have to use the additional power and audio input/output cables or can I just use the POE network cable only?
Great review... I can't get the two audio to work for some reason.. been onto Hikvision support with no luck.. my settings seem to be as support directed.. any ideas?
It doesnt you need the special hikvision joystick with built in mic from my research. Also believe you need the accusense NVR.
To get the two way audio working you need to log into the camera on the web portal and change the mic audio settings
the image from an 8MP is much better than a 4MP, but I hesitate because the data files will be huge and take a lot of space on my harddisk.
Buy another hard drive
Am I correct in saying that you don't require a DVR or NVR to make use of this camera?

Hi there, was wondering if you can help me. I have a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR. Last Friday my security company was at my house swapping it out for a new one and they must not have set the date right because yesterday I went to play back footage and it was saying it was Tuesday, October 18 (when in fact it was Monday, October 17). I reset the date yesterday at noon to Monday but the problem is when I go to play back today Tuesday, it is showing me yesterday's footage (I guess because it was showing as Tuesday yesterday morning until lunch). When will the recorder catch up and record in real time or is there something else I need to go? Live play is showing the correct day and time as of noon yesterday, Monday 10/17. My security company is absolutely terrible and are of no help but as a last resort I will make them come back out.
I have Acusense Gen 2 camera with DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL with NVR DS-7608NI-I2-8P. I cannot see the tab "White Light Alarm Output" and "Audible Alarm Output" under Configuration-> Basic Event. It shows Normal Event instead, do you know why?

@@goata007 yes I was connected to the NVR but these functions need to connect directly into the camera itself.
How would you compare these cameras to the new TIOC 2.0 8MP cameras?
Hi. I have a DS-2CD2386G2-I (without the "U") model and I don't see the "Flashing alarm light output'" menu :-(. Does my camera not support this function, or do I have to activate it (and how) ? Thanks
Does this AcuSense reporting work with generic ONVIF based NVR's? Are the Person/Vehicle detections sent as separate alarms/notifications?
Anyone know what the difference is between the reviewed camera (DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL) and (PCI-T18F2S)? I am looking for the Hikvision 4k Two-Way audio camera (DS-2CD2T86G2-ISU/SL) but it doesn't seem to be sold in the US yet. The only one by Hikvision I can find is the PCI-T18F2S.

First I found that I could no longer buy the DS (in America). The vertices field of view on the PCI is larger by 4 degrees, the ir distance on the PCI is greater (honestly in a side by side I didn't see the diff) and most importantly it no longer has a built in microphone! The pci15 model (5mp) has two way audio so I don't know why it was completely dropped from the pci15. I added my own microphone which was pretty simple. The DS model has dark fighter 1.0 and the PCI has 2.0. again I didn't see a difference side by side. I would buy the DS model if you can get a legitimate DS model (lots of fakes on Amazon)

DS-2CD2387G2-LU is the new G2 8mp acusense and colorvu 2.8mm camera. Cant find anywhere where it mentions this feature.
It doesn't, I bought the same model following the videos description and doesn't have this feature. The mode in the video's description is wrong.

Hey do they have a camera / system that will do the following, Night vision in very low light, has wired or wireless, can record locally, can use a computer or other large monitor, , can send notifications via phone (phone service not wifi), doesn't require the internet, works in outdoor conditions, ? And is somewhere around 260 USD for two to three cameras? And sell to the UNited States?

@@SecPerth but the target classification doesn't work for me. I activated motion detection and selected human as target. It pick up even the smallest light flashes from cars... Even with the sensitivity down. Am I missing something?

@@Cholan4356 This is a bug. A firmware update helped but it's still not near perfect.
I got this camera, but it triggers recording on dust, trees, animals, even though the only target selected is "human" and sensitivity is at 20.
Configure it via web server, not via Hik connect and it will work more than fine. Had same issue couple days ago.

Thx for quick response
You can create intrusion detection area with a minimum threshold time 1 sec and it will trigger the white LED when it detect human or vechile (depending on how you will configure it).

I have these cameras installed at home; you can turn on the LED in response to motion detection (or person/vehicle detection which is the better option) and set it to stay on (not flashing) for up to 60 seconds. It doesn't illuminate a large area but in the dark it's ok for lighting up the porch so you can see the door. The light is intentionally not nice to look at directly however so it's not really good as a spotlight/floodlight - it's designed to draw your attention which it does very well.

All Hikvision Nvrs will work. Most other brands with Onvif will work too
Sorry if this is a stupid question.. does it mean this camera cannot do colour image at night?
That is right. This model switches to black & white at night time.

@@konstantinshepelevich4146 there is no set date for the release of the new acusense. So it depends on how soon you want cameras. These are easily the best at the moment. Through in a couple of ColorVUs and you have the perfect setup.
@@SecPerth Thanks. I am settling up system with total of 6 cameras. I waited a bit for new CororVu, but I shall not wait for much longer to complete the setup. Is there any idea how soon it can possibly be released? Otherwise, are you suggesting to have sone cameras Of currently available cameras installed and then later add couple of ColorVu cameras To the system? Thanks so much!
I bought a acusense camera system for my home and it sucks. Gives false alarm even for insects. No response from the Indian Tech support system . Avoid buying .
