I love how Mako is essentially speaking as the audience in the first 20 seconds with pointing out supposed plotholes you might think about the Red Lotus’s actions. 😅😅
i think its eventually explained that they wanted the avatar gone for good - if you remember all the way back in ATLA, if you kill the avatar while they are in the avatar state, the avatar cycle ends. thats what they tried to do in the finale.
@@HueManatee I actually do remember that from the book 2 finale of Avatar when Azula struck Aang while he was in his avatar state. I just mostly commented regarding how Mako sounded like the type of questions the audience would be asking but I definitely knew that them killing Korra during the night in Zaofu wasn’t going to work because the avatar would have been reincarnated so they needed her alive and have to force her into the state in order for it to work.

Ghazan and Minghua are honestly really good at their bending. The way minghua uses water as her arms, LIKE LITERALLY HER ARMS, is really amazing. Ghazan is a super chill guy who could possibly be friends with team avatar if he wasn't in the red lotus. And his lavabending is INSANE. He makes it look easy, honestly.
from what i remember, didnt bolin warn to get out. But ghazan was adamant in dying rather than going back to prison. Mako didnt make friends with any of them, so him killing ming just felt normal

nah, they like each other...plus, I wanted both of them to redeem themselves after this scene, it would have been awesome instead of just killing them off.
An unspoken attraction eh? I'm sensing it too Bolin. Also, can I just say that Ghazan has an amazing voice. He looks like another version of Jason Momoa in my opinion (because of the Tats).
Both Toph and Ty Lee liked Sokka. When Toph was unable to swim, Toph believed that Sokka saved her it was actually Suki and when Ty Lee saw Sokka in Ba Sing Se, she had a crush on him.
honestly mako in this moment pissed me off, he of ALL people should know humanizing yourself in a hostage situation makes it less likely for the kidnapper to murder you, shows hes unintelligent
From Mako's perspective this very thing might stop Bolin from doing what is necessary because he is endearing the Red Lotus to himself. I don't think Bolin is in the wrong but if he made friends he might be hesitant to act when he otherwise wouldn't be.
No, don't stop making friends with the bad guys. Empathy with your enemy helps you escape, or convert them to your side. Bolin is working that super Charisma stat of his to try and avoid a combat encounter. Smart move.
Not only that, but when your captors are out of reasons to keep you, they can either kill you or let you go. It's possible they chose the latter because of Bolin.
Bolin got 2 out of three correct. Pretty much confirmed they were attracted to eachother, so that leaves being raised by an older sister, or growing a moustache at the age of ten. And I think the latter is true.
So if someone attacked and kidnapped you like these guys did to bolin and mako you wouldn’t bag on them and talk to them like they’re human? That doesn’t make sense.
@@Dolphinboi Um... seeing as how talking crap to your captors is a good way to get your head lopped off, I would not talk down to them, no. Dependent on the situation would also determine hostility towards my captors. If I was captured by a bunch of evil sociopaths who just liked killing people, was using me for ransom, or tortured people I would not want to be civil. I would probably just not say anything. If I was captured by people who were fighting for a cause that wasn't morally bankrupt, had very little interest in actually harming me, and was doing good things for the world like ridding the world of a tyrannical queen, then I would be more apt to view them as people, than monsters.
They could have escaped easily just by that, but given that one of the Red Lotus members is a combustion bender riding in that truck with them, it probably would have been harder for them to escape the truck because she could have threatened them with possibly killing them by firing a blast at them with her forehead. The gang might have had some water supply on hand for Ming-Wua to use on them in case they escaped and freeze them in solid ice. Also, Bolin can’t metalbend, so he wouldn’t have been able to get him and Mako out of that truck.
Rewatching this scene just made me realize something. Ghazan, Ming-hua and P'Li hadn't used their bending in 13 year. Then when they each get access to their respective powers again they all seamlessly flowed into masterful bending displays that aided their prison breaks. These guys are true masters.

Ming and Ghazan
@@Lauren_210 yeah youre right he does sound like that! maybe it was on purpose to show the writers were aware that there were some unanswered questions and wanted to reassure the audience that its a genuine mystery and not a plot hole
@@HueManatee It is. but it is a great way to go "Hey audience! Look! It wasn't a plothole! We actually planned it, okay?!" said by the character in a fairly believeable way.
@@HueManatee Can you really call it a mystery when it was very CLEARLY explained in Avatar: the last airbender that the only way to truely kill the avatar was by killing them while they were in their avatar state.
I like that Zaheer waits for them to finish their conversation before gagging the hostages. Very polite.
Ghazan's eyes widening when Ming-Hua avert her gaze always crack me up, as if he was going to say that Bolin had gotten one out of three but then corrects to two out of three after that.
I love that in this clip bolin literally doesnt care that theyre murderers, and starts casually talking to them like theyre homies
Not to mention that they went to jail for an attempted kidnapping of one of his closest friends(Korra) when she was still a child.
not casually but still super duper cute!
@@sammywoj7924 be like whaaaaaaaaaat??
@@hollyhuntington4433 they explain it in the show. Zaheer & his gang tried abducting Korra as a kid to indoctrinate her and got arrested by Tenzin,Zuko, Tonraq(Korra’s dad) and Sokka. Its why they were all in jail
@@sammywoj7924so wouldn’t it be stupid for Bolin to talk to ppl who tried to harm his best friend Korea when she was a baby
A miniseries about the Red Lotus would have been so cool.
They probably had a relationship before they went to prison
There's a artist on IG that makes short comics about them
P'li and Zaheer
Ghazan and Minghua huh... 🤔
Even bad guys get soften when Bolin talks 😆😆
"You got two out of the three right."
I like to believe that the one Bolin didn't get right was him being raised by an older sister.
Ya know he could just be lying. 3/3
I saw a lot of people saying that the elder sister one was confirmed to be fake, however I'm not entirely sure.
I believe that he grew his moustache when he was nine
Let’s be honest, zaheer was just jealous that they were making friends and not him😤
I like how Ghazan was surprised by ming hua looking away like he didn't expect it
"Okay, he got one right. (After Bolin says the third part) Damn, he's good."
This is my favourite bolin scene. It's so quintessentially bolin. His ability to charm and be friendly to literally anyone is so fun and wholesome to watch. he creates a dialogue and unwittingly humanizes both himself and the people trying to hurt him; can't help but love and admire him
Ghazan and Minghua are honestly really good at their bending. The way minghua uses water as her arms, LIKE LITERALLY HER ARMS, is really amazing. Ghazan is a super chill guy who could possibly be friends with team avatar if he wasn't in the red lotus. And his lavabending is INSANE. He makes it look easy, honestly.
Mako: "stop making friends with the bad guys"
Zaheer: "stop making friends with the good guys"
Bolin and Ghazan: Sorry.
I've been looking for this clip for forever...
also just realized his mustache definitely didn't grow in when he was 10
it did. creators confirmed it
Some boys can start going through puberty by 9.
so which were the two right guesses?
I don't think there was an attraction between those two. I think the raised by a sister thing was true.
@@JamaicaZ160R1793010A
The way he looked at Ming Hua...definitely attraction.
Never noticed Ghazan looking towards Ming Hua and then getting a somewhat surprised reaction when she wouldn't look him in the eye.
Aw, poor Ghazan and Ming Hua. Making friends with Bolin and Mako only for Bolin and Mako to be the death of them later on.
from what i remember, didnt bolin warn to get out. But ghazan was adamant in dying rather than going back to prison. Mako didnt make friends with any of them, so him killing ming just felt normal
Mako talks.
*Mission stuff, Ming Hua gives typical shut up and Ghazam plays "secret plan villainy"*
Bolin talks
*Ghazam and Ming Hua get surprisingly open with their lives in a casual conversation.*
Ghazan is one of those characters I'd have enjoyed seeing a redemption for. It would've been cool to see him kinda mentor or teach bolin the art of lava bending
this is why bolin is my favorite TLoK character and ghazan is my favorite red lotus member.
This is my favourite of all of Bolin’s scenes. It’s just so awesome and was a really nice way to humanize the other members of the red lotus.
Bolin was such an Aang here
Bolin: "Hey, these guys aren't half bad."
Mako: *does a Batman move and kills the mood*
Bolin is so sweet I love him
I love him too
Imagine Zaheer laughing in silence while driving
Ghazan and Ming-Hua seem like very chill people once you get to meet them.
Making friends with the enemy. That’s the avatar we love and remember
I wish we had a sequel with an Earthbender like Bolin as the Avatar
@@Manas-co8wl I would pay for that
He's probably the only Korra villain that I would not mind having a casual conversation at all
Ghazan is my favorite for his laid back, approachable personality and his badass lavabending
Imagine if Ghazan had turned on Ming Hua when they had fought Bolin and Mako and then he became a member of the new Team Avatar
nah, they like each other...plus, I wanted both of them to redeem themselves after this scene, it would have been awesome instead of just killing them off.
It would've been like the Jackie Chan Adventure cartoons lol.
@@laurajanco2iYeah kinda wasted two potentially interesting villains at the end.
Mako seems so annoyed with Bolin lol. I love the “serious mature older brother and dumb naive younger brother” bond they have
2 out of 3, not bad!!! BEST LINE EVER
An unspoken attraction eh? I'm sensing it too Bolin.
Also, can I just say that Ghazan has an amazing voice. He looks like another version of Jason Momoa in my opinion (because of the Tats).
I'm sensing Ming had feelings for Ghazan but he wasn't aware, much like Sokka and Toph
Both Toph and Ty Lee liked Sokka. When Toph was unable to swim, Toph believed that Sokka saved her it was actually Suki and when Ty Lee saw Sokka in Ba Sing Se, she had a crush on him.
@@persidawson6372 yeah but with Ty Lee, Sokka was fully aware. With Toph he is completly oblivious.
@@elnombredelarosa3167 Sokka was just a Backbender
honestly mako in this moment pissed me off, he of ALL people should know humanizing yourself in a hostage situation makes it less likely for the kidnapper to murder you, shows hes unintelligent
From Mako's perspective this very thing might stop Bolin from doing what is necessary because he is endearing the Red Lotus to himself.
I don't think Bolin is in the wrong but if he made friends he might be hesitant to act when he otherwise wouldn't be.
exactlyyy, its crazy how that works. but also I just wanted to see them being homies too but Mako kind of ruined it...
The mustache thing was confirmed by Bryke to be true, and the unspoken attraction is pretty obvious
Really I thought the third was wrong
@@cjg3496 me too
Bolin:”So which one did I get wrong”.
Gzan:”My Moustache grew in when I was 9”.
0:07- When you realize Ming hua is also voiced by Grey delisle and it gives you nostalgic memories of Azula.
This is actually one of my favorite scenes from Season 3~
I love his surprised face when ming hua avoids eye contact and he just "2/3"
I've looked it up, and some boys can start going through puberty as early as 9, so it is possible.
Yep,happened to me,voice cracks are annoying as hell.
EDIT: Before anyone asks, no, my mustache isnt as long as Gazans, heck, it's barely noticeable
@@konikonitrainerwill5969 how old are you?
zaheer’s best moment was helping korra get raava back, like even he hated that khuviar girl
Yeah he created the very thing he sought to destroy
Bolin is such a gem. Soka would have loved him.
You gotta respect how Bolin actually talked to them like they were human instead of bagging on them for having a conflict of interest.
@@Dolphinboi Seeing how that would just be liable to get yourself killed then no I wouldn’t do that, if you wanted to die faster doing that.
Im glad this was uploaded literally an hour I wanted to look for it, thanks
Samee
Ghazan is hot and no one can convince me otherwise.
Yes he is
Ik wish they dident chance him the first time we zag him with no shirt with beard and with the tattoos he lookt awesome
HAHAHQ XD I just love the fact that Ghazan seems to really like Bolin xD
I love it too
And this is why Bolin is best boy if this was considered an anime.
powerful people, especially the kind of bad ones but not really, are always chill. they're just in an unhealthy circle
I love how them talking about that actually manages to make Ghazan smile
All I can hear is Azula 💕💕
Bolin is able to make friends with just about anyone. He is literally one of my favorite characters in the avatar universe
This is probably my favorite part in the whole series! Lol.
I feel like Mako and Bolton could’ve escaped if Mako breathed fire out of his mouth. I mean, he is a fire bender after all.
But I’m not sure anyone actually taught him breath of fire, I mean he and Bolin learned bending on the streets.
Even if they could make it out of the truck they wouldn't be able to get away, the red lotus are just too capable for that.
Robin Stop Complimenting the bad guys-Night Wing Judas Contract
This is about the most relaxed conversation in the whole show all things considered
I wish the conversation between Bolin, Ming Hua, and Ghazan couldve continued. That wouldve been intresting
Zaheer: We stand for freeedom!
Also Zaheer: Let’s tie up and gag those guys! No talking to the enemy!
"I would have killed for some rain."
Well, mostly you would have killed using some rain.
oh shit lol
Bolin: What did you do in your imprisonment, Zaheer?
Gangha and Ming Hua: WAIT, DONT!
Zaheer: Ever heard of Guru Laghima?
Gangha and Ming Hua: *groan*
Bolin is basically the glue to this series.
period
@@laurajanco2iblood
😂 Zaheer told them to gag them after he wanted to hear bolins comedic moments
1:04 Haha,"two out of three" huh?
Bolin is just too likeable.
Now that i think about it i would have been bored to death if i was locked up for 13 years...
Rewatching this scene just made me realize something. Ghazan, Ming-hua and P'Li hadn't used their bending in 13 year. Then when they each get access to their respective powers again they all seamlessly flowed into masterful bending displays that aided their prison breaks. These guys are true masters.
They must have been practicing like it's a workout regime.
Bolin didn't make friends with the bad guys...he fucking read their goddamned minds. Since when is that a power Earthbenders have?
