Improv session based on themes from the famous Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns. Can you spot/name the variety of violin techniques I incorporate? Also, can you spot the fake teeth I have in??

This is genuinely the only version of the song I like
Thanks, I appreciate that!
This music is tied to a story I had in mind but I wasn’t sure if a good portion of it could be played solo(I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to music) but now I see it’s possible, thanks dude
Sure thing, glad it helped! The original version for orchestra has a big violin solo, so it's a fairly straightforward extension to incorporate additional elements.
LOVE the glasses! Epic song. I wish I could play like that. How many years of lessons did it take you to be able to play at this level???
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed!! I started playing when I was 3 and did a lot of performing (including internationally) up until I was about 24; I'd say I reached this level at about 14, so 11 years. But then I stopped playing completely for a number of years and then picked it back up; just never got back to the level in my "prime" since I never practice or take lessons any more.
@@NeoPlaysViolin That's amazing! Well I think that you still sound pretty darn good!!
0:52-0:55 don't mind this timestamp
You have to fix the wrist of your left hand 😬😬
Yeah, my technique has slipped a bit since my last lesson / when I played seriously 15 years ago. :(
On the plus side, I do more fiddle/improv stuff than classical now anyway, so perhaps it's appropriate...
@@NeoPlaysViolin you last played 15 years ago? And still can play danse macabre? I last played 1 year ago and can't even play canon😂😂😂
@Ann Moshi 😂. I'm at about 60-70% of where I was 15 years ago and probably won't ever get fully back to that point since I don't practice or take lessons. I do have 1 video professionally filmed from that time period if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/nA_Sdx1OMgk/v-deo.html
that was so beautiful ㅠ.ㅠ
I really like your outfit !! It makes this video so much better !! Btw I think this is very well played
Thanks for noticing and commenting on that! I don't know if the fake vampire teeth were noticeable (it was annoying to play with those in the whole time so I hope so!) but I should have taken the outfit even further with some good makeup...
@@NeoPlaysViolin I honestly didn't notice the teeth (I was busy listening) but I really enjoyed everything !
@@lassaing Thanks again!!
Incompleto no se escucha como las notas indican
De verdad, es "improvisación" basado en el tema original, pero no exactamente lo mismo.
Me encanta esta pieza 😍
Mil gracias por tu comentario! 😎🎻
Marvelous, did you do the the G,D,A,E♭ tuning or just G,D,A,E?
Thanks! Just the normal tuning; I wouldn't have been able to play the rest of it with the E down a half step. 😂

🥰 oow, ficou perfeito!
muito obrigado!
Asombroso
Gracias!!
OMG I LOVEE EITITIJRAJ this is my goal to learn this song exactly like how u played
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the comment! Have fun learning it but don't feel like you have to duplicate it note for note... it was improv after all, so I would have trouble doing it again exactly the same way! 😎🎻
Perfect
Thank you!! 😎🎻
Do you have the sheet music available?🥺
Sorry, I don't.... other than the first part of the theme and snippets here and there, this is all improv.
It baffles me how different a violin sounds depending on the way you hold it.
Are you referring to a fiddle hold (down off the shoulder) or even how different classical violinists vary?
@@NeoPlaysViolin Fiddle hold
Ah, gotcha. The difference in sound is more the around the style and techniques used in fiddling than the hold. That being said, certain classical techniques like shifting and certain vibrato types are made very difficult by the fiddle hold, which also accounts for the difference you're hearing
I like it
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for the feedback!!
Excellent!
Thanks!! Please feel free to check out some of my other videos (classical, fiddle and covers) if you're so inclined!
well done
👏

Thanks!! 😎🎻
Can I sample this for a song please
Sure, go ahead; thanks for asking! Please include me in the credits. :)
Bravo!👏Bravo!👏😙🎶
Thanks!! 😎🎻
Beautiful
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
cool... but the tuning XD!
Thanks for the feedback! Some of that is intentional given the style, some is due to it being pure improv
💖
Thanks!! 😎🎻
