I made a mistake the pocket layout is called the nomad pocket layout. Just wanted to clarify for those trying to navigate VDS website for the first time 🙂

I got a pilot capless with a bold nib. I couldn’t deal with it. My writing was so small that it looked a big mess. I brought a fine nib and now I use it all the time. All my fountain pens are fine or extra fine. Game changer.

I have the extra fine and I do really want to try the fine nib. The pen is excellent I love the sleek body!

Honestly the Van Der Spek cover is overpriced and the leather is not premium. I have the TM codex standard mega. Also if you want to add a hobo clear cover on the weeks it will not fit! I paid $150 plus S&H and I feel the moterm covers are more durable..

Hey! Sorry to hear that you were a fan of the vds. While I agree that the vds covers are expensive durability doesn’t always equal quality. For example I will pay more for a cover that will change with time as I use it. Also keep in mind the TM leathers are buffalo and not the same as their Janet leathers which you can choose when ordering a custom. I personally am not a fan of the TM leathers but they are incredibly durable. Also they are definitely not made to fit the weeks with a clear cover but this is something I actually prefer. I don’t use a clear cover and I love the more snug fit. There are ways though to fit a clear cover in the vds cover such as trimming the back of you clear cover to turn it into a book jacket.

Forgive me if you already mentioned it, but what was the fountain pen ink that wouldn't dry? I love fountain pens, and just ordered the weeks, so don't want to have the same thing happen! Thank you!

Ferris wheel press! However I do love their inks (they’re actually my favourite) I’m just not a fan in the weeks. Oddly enough though they work fine in my hobonichi a5. It may be a me thing or I may have had sweaty hands that day I’m honestly not too sure.

I use the method called a ‘tip in’. Daksina here on UA-cam has a fantastic tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/lQq7IbY-pxk/v-deo.html
