The story in FFXV feels like a bunch of random events glued together to form a story and it felt really rushed in the second half.

Actually, the best not made is FFXII. Square-Enix fucked the game Matsuno was making so much that he resigned. And we know (and have proof) that he is an outrageous storyteller. We could have seen Game of Thrones in a FF.

@@zaqareemalcolm It was not health issues. Penello and Vaan werent supposed to be the main chars, but Vasch! The higher ups didnt like the idea and wanted a more teen main protagonist. It was this and more interventions from the higher ups that desmotivated Matstuno until he decided to resign and left FF12 unfinished.
To me, that loved FFTactics and Ogre Battle's stories, it was a sad chapter in the games industry.

EDIT: well I found one that more or less says "health reasons" was probably just a PR-friendly/nicer shorthand for his "nervous breakdowns" brought on by development (and it is technically a health-issue too), so likely both

The gameplay looked a lot more reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3, especially the magic system.
I would've preferred this in terms of magic at least, what we got in FF XV was very basic and limited, and it was annoying to have to gather elemancy from rocks (even after upgrading the Ascension magic abilities).
And while I've gotten used to the combat in FF XV, the way it looks here still looks more fluid and less clunky.
Nomura is totallysomething else from Tabata thats true.I liked ffxv story but really with Nomura would probably be a lot better as character development etc.

They anglicized him. He looks more like he could be Notis's father before they changed him.

Those graphics. To see them change so heavily from X to this is amazing, I'm glad to admit I was screaming at the monitor at how great the details are put into it. I just hope the story is just as well worked on as they have put into the graphics.

In this nearly seven-minute trailer, we saw more action, story, and character development than the original version of Final Fantasy XV ever gave us at the launch date. Plus, the graphics look great for a PS3 game and it looked like it ran at a (mostly) smooth framerate compared to the choppy framerate mess that XV suffered from on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Well Tabata completely fucked up the story and the characters and the gameplay too so it's not surprising anymore.

It's been put into 100% production, since 11th September 2011. I'm really hoping that this game doesn't take much longer to make, it looks awesome, the graphics and CGI are amazing, and the gameplay looks immense. So far Square Enix have said they are only releasing it on PS3, if it only stays on PS3, I'm going to have to buy one JUST for this game.

If I recall, Nomura explained that Versus isn't taking place "After" or "Before" 13 and Type-0. This entire game is probably taking place during, just within a different Setting with a plot that is completely unrelated. (Until recently, that is, with the "Etro" Mythos)
and its now in 100% full production but cant wait to see who the english voice actors are.

AdamRonaldo1903 Yup. I like to shit talk Tabata because of obvious mismanagement of resources while he was in charge, but it never would have been a problem is SquEnix upper management had their shit together and didn't keep taking away Nomura's team to clean up other messes.
What fucking baffles me, is how after XIII was done instead of sending that team to now help Nomura with Versus they had them make what is regarded as the shitiest and most unnecessary sequel ever.

1: Look at the power that the king is using @ 6:02 and the power that the prince uses in /watch?v=uo0YDtShq18 .
2: In the same video look at the table, the king appears to be much younger than the one that is showed on this video. This time you can see him.
3: Either the king is Noctis's father and him inherited his father's power, or they're the same person.
4: If you look again @ 6:02, the other man looks a lot with the Ignis that appears @ 6:21

Now that their KH 3D project is done... I hope they can release a new trailer by FF's 25th Anniversary.... :3
@Seliny191 Nope, Tifa may have been his crush, but they never really talked as kids, the only connection they had was the promise, and him saving her has kids and even then they never talked, she also had a hero complex after the promise, also while Aerith saw him as Zack in the beginning she later said they were completely different and she wanted to know the real Cloud better, even in the novels Aerith says she loves Cloud for his real self and not the image of Zack.
wow this looks better than what was released. it makes me mad how weak the story was. like the empire was important for like 23 seconds in the whole game. at the last minute aryden shows his intentions.
As it was announced back in 2006, Versus is not a continuation, but a separate story that takes place in the same universe. I'm assuming there is a huge difference in time setting (like how War of the Lions took place way after/before FFXII
No worries bro. The guy who created Kingdom Hearts plays a huge role in this. He made the base concept of this game and a lot of other huge things. It's going to be great.

Tetsuya Nomura has yet to let us down. While XIII was a bit of a stumble on the part of Kitase, my trust in Nomura remains strong. And the "Not going to show up at E3" because it wasn't on the list is stupid, Enix acknowledged that the list was incomplete when they revealed it and they like to surprise people anyway. Tetsuya's comments about having a lot of stuff he's excited to show people, but not being allowed to right now, and knowing exactly when he'll be showing more content is exciting.

@Seliny191 Also Final Fantasy VII and Novels both make it clear that Aerith has gotten over her feelings for Zack. In the FFVII 10th Anniversary Ultimania and the FFVII Ultimania Omega says that Aerith realizes that Cloud is a different person from Zack, and grows to love Cloud for himself, so when people say Aerith didn't love Cloud because of Zack is completely wrong, when even official sources say she loved the real Cloud.
Its coming next year, there is a new video leaked only of them saying its only for ps3 and WiiU, too much epic ness for the fail box. I'm amazed at the gameplay and more amazed that this battle system will be carried over into KH3. I can't wait 0_0

Well considering Tetsuya Nomura is behind it (the guy behind Kingdom Hearts as well) and Yoko Shimomura is doing the soundtrack (who also did the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack), it wouldn't just be a coincidence.

If you play XIII-2, you will notice that the goddess is mentioned throughout the story, and is a key element in the games plot. She is mentioned here as well, meaning the two worlds, at the very least, have common mythology. So far, that's the only connection I can make though.
I swear I thought this was live action at first....I just wonder how much better the graphics will get on the PS4...

@Seliny191 Crisis Core shows us how they met and their crush, they never went more than that, they never started a true boyfriend girlfriend relationship, also, this doesnt change Cloud and Aeriths relationship and the feelings they shared.
Zack is always refered as her first crush, even on her last letter to him she said she was moving on and wasnt going to wait for him.

Wow. In all fairness, "Final Fantasy: Boy Band" looks amazing. I only hope they don't suddenly break into song.
I think they stopped/slowed because they felt the bit off more that they could chew for the combat. It seems like they want to do more than the current gen consoles are capable of.
@gyotuv12 if you want a dark Final Fantasy, try Type-0 for the PSP, it was released a few months back and received high praise and many fans stating it felt like a older title.
There's a lot of blood, death and sacrifice... Though I do agree about Versus, it'll either be a masterpiece or a disappointment, burdened by hype.
Final Fantasy games takes days to finish when you check the time counter. My FF-XIII time record is 40 hours plus. So, this game takes years to make, so that should mean like it will take a week to finish :D
@lasalle1alpha you should see how it looked a few years ago, Noctis looked almost like he did in the CGI. Nomura changed Noctis' appearence before this trailer was released (you can tell his hair is shorter, thinner and more badass and his clothing has been changed aswell) so the graphical detail for this one isn't as refined as it could be.

I doubt it's during, though they are not in the same locale, they definitely happen in chronology. Monsters usually dissipate into chaos in Type-0, XIII and XIII2, but here they die normally, meaning there must be an screw up, likely what happened in XIII2.
Plus, Lindzei, Pulse Etro and everyone have already awakened, the only one who "Still sleeps" is Bhunivelzhe, so it goes...
When this was announced I remember I was deciding which College i wanted to go. Just yesterday someone mentioned Final Fantasy and I remembered that awesome trailer with the guy with floating weapons, so I began searching online for the price and when had it come out.... it hasn't... And i'm a senior now....maybe when I have kids I can play it with them :C
@Seliny191 Dont get me wrong, Tifas and Clouds relationship grew during the course of FF7, but so did Clouds and Aeriths, thats why theres that love triangle between them and why Cloud is for the most part paired up with Aerith in other games.

The gameplay borrows many elements present in Kingdom Hearts, as this is being developed by Square's Kingdom Hearts Team. I am already beyond stoked for this game just because of this information!
@rodchester3 it may seem that way, but the store is different, Noctis is the last prince of the last city which uses crystals. Stella is from another kingdom and she is trying to steal the crystal. The dad has some plot to spare his son from being a king with a lot of burdens. Take that and combine it with modern politics and weaponary.
I have a feeling that this game will just be so amazing!! I've been waiting for a dark final fantasy for so long!! It's nice to move away from the chipper-ness of the games as of late :D

As far as I have seen the newer titles in the Final Fantasy series focus more on graphics than the storyline. Personally, I like the new ones as much as the elder ones
Cloud was never emo, people are just calling him that because of AC where he was depressed, and his personality was in fact a breath of fresh air at the time FFVII was released seeing has most MCs from JRPGs at the time was standard Zack Fair personality, dont get me wrong, Zack is great character, especially in CC, but is personality is basically what every RPG MC character was, besides i think some of you dont even know what emo means and just use it to make fun of some characters.
