Closing your eyes can help calm your nerves, especially playing piano or singing in front of people. I find it helps with all my performances though ^^

people complaining it's too fast: sometimes that happens with people performing, it's totally natural and sometimes psychological like a "I want to get this over with" feeling. Same as when people talk fast during school presentations. Or, it could be that she felt as if this were a better tempo for how she interpreted the piece.
Dana and also I tend to do this when I have a lot of runs of 16th notes and such. I manage to speed it up without realizing because I know the notes and the finger patterns and such and I end up going faster, but it all turns out well in the end.
Thank you for listening 💖 It was totally psychological, stress and excitement of performing this piece propelled me into such an emotional state that I could hardly hear anything apart from my own deafening heartbeat as I started the piece. So I totally didn't notice how fast I went for the very same reason.

The beggining Is actually quite simple I learned it for a few mins and got the hang of it pretty easily. Apart from the middle and the end... Don't even attempt that
her increased speed in the middle of the performance actually reminded me of Yuuri's haste in his ep 5 free skate (the first time we saw it completely) and then I saw her smile when the music picked up after the middle gentle part and at that moment, she really was bringing out the essence of the piece :') Kudos to her for a great job!

this is actually so incredible like yes it's fast but that way it makes it so powerful and emotional at exactly the right moments because she played faster when the song got more emotional and idk I just really like this!!!!!

I have listened to many piano concerts and very rarely do I like the song to begin both and very rarely do I find that the pianist made no mistakes while playing in the presence of many people. I absolutely loved this performance and I could watch it forever and ever! very very beautiful

On ICE are meant to be played with emotion and passion and this woman did that. she didn't just play it fast and loud, she played it with feeling, this anime makes me cry from the music, and even though she was going a little fast, it was still amazing. there are people who are talented like this and I still can't walk properly...

h elp oh! 8 years! That's so cool!!! how many weeks have you practiced Yuri on Ice, if I may ask? Because I can't say it's an easy piece. I've been playing for around 12 years and it took me 3 weeks. Don't lose hope!! Try it again please? :D I say you push a little bit more but don't force yourself to play it to the maximum speed. :D :D
8 years of music, that's amazing! I totally agree with Bea, don't lose hope! Yuri on ICE is a real challenge. And learning a challenging piece can be really frustrating, especially at the very beginning, but practising it slowly and regularly bit by bit will surely help and I'm rooting for you!!! You can do it!

Thanks! :D :D @h elp Just practice really S ....L...O...W...L...Y... and then speed it up when you get the hang of it. practice the same notes again and again if you have to. :D And if there are parts that are impossible for your fingers, change is not a bad thing. Go get your pen and change the notes and fingerings so it would suit your playing!! You are the master. (some might disagree but I did that to the version of Yuri on Ice I played hahahahahaha
This actually was a classical music concert so I doubt that anyone in the audience ever heard of YOI before. But people enjoyed the music nonetheless, and that's what matters.

The tempo was a bit fast, but you can see and feel her emotion while she plays. Love how she closes here eyes for a lot of the parts and lets the music take over.

After watching YOI and seeing Yuuri skate this so many times, I forgot the meaning behind this song... but after watching this- it all came back to me and I can't stop crying. This song is about reaching for your dreams and being met with failure, and then after failing, simply consuming yourself in your own sorrow... but then in the second half of the song, something strikes a chord in you again, and you're searching for yourself- something to hold onto, and then you find it. And it takes you further and further and further, until you finally succeed and find the one thing you wanted the entire time without realizing it. Inspiration. A purpose. Love.
No, I liked the speed because it made sense with the passionate emotion I felt from you behind this performance. I feel like you were always on the beat/in-rhythm, it was just a faster beat than the version in the YOI soundtrack.
I FEEL like the speed she did it at gave a completely different feeling to it. Like it was an urgent and needy while the original was inspiring and made you feel. I love this

I literally wanted to cry as I listened to this. It's so freaking beautiful!!! Idk you but I FREAKING LOVE YOU FOR THIS..! I can sense a lot of emotion and passion in this. I've just begun to learn this myself, but compared to you it's is nothing. About eight years of piano, and I hope to one day be good like this since my talent needs to be rekindled. On ICE are meant to be played with emotion and passion and this woman did that. she didn't just play it fast and loud, she played it with feeling, this anime makes me cry from the music, and even though she was going a little fast, it was still amazing. there are people who are talented like this and I still can't walk properly...

h elp oh! 8 years! That's so cool!!! how many weeks have you practiced Yuri on Ice, if I may ask? Because I can't say it's an easy piece. I've been playing for around 12 years and it took me 3 weeks. Don't lose hope!! Try it again please? :D I say you push a little bit more but don't force yourself to play it to the maximum speed. :D :D

8 years of music, that's amazing! I totally agree with Bea, don't lose hope! Yuri on ICE is a real challenge. And learning a challenging piece can be really frustrating, especially at the very beginning, but practising it slowly and regularly bit by bit will surely help and I'm rooting for you!!! You can do it!

@h elp Just practice really S ....L...O...W...L...Y... and then speed it up when you get the hang of it. practice the same notes again and again if you have to. :D And if there are parts that are impossible for your fingers, change is not a bad thing. Go get your pen and change the notes and fingerings so it would suit your playing!! You are the master. (some might disagree but I did that to the version of Yuri on Ice I played hahahahahaha

After watching YOI and seeing Yuuri skate this so many times, I forgot the meaning behind this song... but after watching this- it all came back to me and I can't stop crying. This song is about reaching for your dreams and being met with failure, and then after failing, simply consuming yourself in your own sorrow... but then in the second half of the song, something strikes a chord in you again, and you're searching for yourself- something to hold onto, and then you find it. And it takes you further and further and further, until you finally succeed and find the one thing you wanted the entire time without realizing it. Inspiration. A purpose. Love.
