So we haven’t checked out a scary movie in awhile so we thought it’d be cool to take a look at 2013s THE CONJURING. In 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed (Patrick Wilson) Warren are summoned to the home of Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and Roger (Ron Livingston) Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate in horrifying fashion, especially after the Warrens discover the house's macabre history. My first time watching definitely got me this is fire scary movie! Awesome watch if you’re a fan of scary stuff

I did not realize until now (I don't know why, no judging, please), Rory is doing whatever he can do to protect the children from Bathsheba by telling them these secret traps and hiding places and such. Which explains why April found her way to under the floorboards.
Just finished reading the oldest sisters first book… the true story is so much more terrifying. They couldn’t include the vast majority of things because they thought it would be too unbelievable for a movie…

In these old continental houses there a lot of crawl spaces in the walls for taking care of the infrastructure. Also the version of ghost aka bethsheba is a version of a type of ghost from china known as a hanging ghost. The entity in the real conjuring house isn’t a real hanging ghost. Different sort of spirit. But they did put in a lot of lore in this movie that is known to be real types of spiritualism and recorded by spiritualist and ghost hunters alike.

This is one of the few movies that was given an R rating just because how scary it is. No bad language, nudity/sexual content and minimal violence. Just a scary ass movie.
So Insidious isn’t in the same Universe as The Conjuring/Nun/Annabelle universe
This was a true story but some of the events are dramatically altered for the movie. But the actual truth of what happened is sort of scarier. They never exorcised Bethsheba however you spell that. The warrens, ones of the greatest recognized by the church demonologists in the whole world. After about a week the activity got really bad and the dad told the warrens to leave. The parents got divorced sold all their possessions to leave the house. And the mom and daughters were followed by this entity’s through almost their entire adult lives. Yeah. In my mind as someone who has done several spiritual cases is scarier then this version of events.

He keeps comparing to insidius, this and insidius are 2 totally different, unrelated movies, james wan made both tye conjuring movies and that whole universe but insidius is also made by james wan and totally different universe, insidius is only connected to all insidius movies, conjuring movies are all connected to conjuring 1, 2 and 3, annabelle 1, 2 and 3, the nun 1 and 2 and la lorrona, theres a lot more connected to the conjuring movies, insidius is only (i think 5 or 6.... pretty sure its 5 lol in too lazy to look that up though right now lol) but yeah, hopefully that clears that confusion up a bit at least

There's some old articles online about Ed and Lorraine Warren , of people that complained about them making the situations even worse when the warrens went to help them

Annabelle is a real doll but she had nothing to do with this story. The based on a true story should have been wrtten instead loosely based because other than the family names this story is not what really happened. The real story was so scary that James decided not to use it and make up his own story instead. Ed and Lorraine had nothing to do with the real story because they were kicked out for making things worse by accident. You want to know the true story of it all then read the eldest daughter's triolgy House of Darkness,House of light that will show you what really happened and the stories of all the family members and what they went through in that place. For the record the family lived in the house for 10 years before moving out and when the wife bought the house her husband had no idea until she showed them the place and they all fell for it's beauty and loved the lake on the grounds. Beth Shiva was never a thing though she was a real person who had nothing to do with the house or the property. There was a dangerous ghost in the house though and she was dressed in old clothing with her head barely staying on her neck and she was horrifying in her own right. One of the ghosts almost killed the mother by beating her with a cloths hanger any way read the book it will tell you everything they went through. That being said this is still my favorite of the Conjuring Franchise movies and the only one that trully scared me in the theaters and still does to this day whenever I watch it.
RIP April Perron 03/09/2017✨When it comes to the movie and the real events , it was a bit different! The hauntings where real and the mom got possessed during a seance where her chair levitated and got thrown across the room. The dog of the real Perron family was named Bathsheba before they moved to that farm house but she did mysteriously die at that house.. and it wasn’t public knowledge also not revealed to James wan at the time of production so how they knew that is a mystery! And the “witch” Bathsheba is also not sure if she was really a witch but she was real cause her grave is behind the farm house 2 miles into the woods. And I knew Lorraine before she died in 2019 she helped me a lot with my “gifts” eventhough its a bit of curse to! But she was the sweetest woman and I have still contact with their daughter Judy and her husband tony whom are living in Ed & Lorraine’s house and still taking care of their museum especially Annabelle. So yeah this was a bit of the real events compared to the movie! The eldest daughter actually wrote a book after the movie was published about the real events that happened called “house of darkness/house of light” very interesting !
James Wan knew everything about the actual story, Lorraine Warren was on set as well as April Perron, it was the first time April and Lorraine had seen each other since the events of this movie, April passed away in March 2017 though, so it's been a while since she's been gone but she also was around for a while after this movie came out and Lorraine Warren passed away April, 2019, but most events are pretty accurate to what happened according to April, except for the ending, and maybe a few bigger events that happened in the film, but the odors and sounds and oozing walls were the true reportings from April, and said Bathsheba had cursed the land so whoever lived there would somehow die a terrible death, which her mother suffered from by the end of the true story, but the movie needed a happy ending, so from a story tellers perspective, they made the movie's ending for entertainment value 🤘
This movie is based on a true story that Ed and Lorraine actually went through during this investigation
