Can I weld aluminum in the gtaw process with this xmt 425 machine?

Hi, Danisky. The XMT 425 cannot weld aluminum in the GTAW process. Welding aluminum requires an AC output in GTAW which the XMT 425 does not have. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

order for ArcReach to work, both the feeder and power source need to be
equipped with ArcReach. ArcReach is a factory-installed feature and it
cannot be added to non-ArcReach equipped products. Visit www.millerwelds.com to

Can I run an old trailblazer 280 on this setup?

Unfortunately, the Arcreach feeder cannot communicate with the Trailblazer 280. The feeder will power up and work like a standard voltage-sensing wire feeder, but the user will not be able to remove or adjust the voltage.
