The XJ220 was originally meant to be a v-12 but ultimately ended up with the twin-turbo V6. That is the reason for the additional space in the engine bay.
Yes yes yes this is what I've been needing, more actually mechanically minded conversations on Shmee's channel, one thing Tim does unfortunately miss out in videos.
Next time your up at McGurks, at 17.43 minutes in, take that road on your left and it leads to an amazing road where a lot of car features are done, wide open and stunning.....
nice flyby from the M400 when you talk about the aston. need a photoshoot with the 2 aston and that plane. Great to see the Vantage coming back in shape
That is not a question. of course it must have more free flow, and if it makes more noise, that is a big plus. But I wonder if they change shock absorbers and springs. With the age of the car, they are worn and do not provide optimal driving characteristics. It means everything to get them changed.
Great video!! A400M Atlas by the way. They are amazing to see fly!! Very agile considering the size of them!! Seen them fly at airshows & over my house many times. Also it is shame the Yaris will be leaving the garage. Managed to see one the other day. It was rather filthy as it looked like it went through quite a few muddy puddles
Regarding the police incident on the motorway, it is more than likely a police training exercise as I travel that motorway very regular and see it quite often.
Yaris GR is right sized car for UK country roads. Seems like Schmuseum needs heating and cooling addressed. I would keep the Vantage with a quiet exhaust. If he wants a loud roadster, he has the MB GT, 675 and more.
I think the superlative you were looking for to describe the car's color is, "AMAZEBalls." Yep, definitely think that was the word you were looking for.
I’d like to know how well the Aston has been maintained since Tim owned it. From the original tyres that he had on it, to it needing this much work. Did it just sit for a while and not get used? It just seems unusual to me that the other owners didn’t notice it or didn’t bother getting it repaired so they could properly enjoy the car. I hope Tim takes this to Monaco this summer!! I wouldn’t get a loud exhaust. It is a GT car. You don’t want it to be unusably loud. It is meant to be a comfortable long distance cruiser.
This video has alot of crazy random things happening, from the flyby to a car chase and getting our hopes up to the silverstone, really epic clips XD 💯🍷🍾
Tim's first Vantage is a classy cruiser. A loud exhaust would ruin it. He already has a noisy Vantage V8. That yellow does look fantastic, even on my not completely fantastic computerscreen. I could do with a V12 Vantage in that yellow, only it would have to be a coupe.
Pls urge Tim to make a video on the new Corvette Z06, because it's the most powerful v8 ever made! Even powerful than the previous powerful v8, the engine of the SLS Black Series! It sounds phenomenal, and it's gonna be available at the UK, we would love to see that hell of a supercar on the Shmee150 channel, so pls tell Tim to make a video of it
Another enjoyable video. This channel is really developing well and creating really interesting content. The police incident - the rolling roadblock would have been slowing down traffic and creating a sterile environment so the units pursuing the vehicle could utilise tactics to stop the vehicle being pursued. Tactics might range from boxing in to tactical contact.
Good to see work underway on the Roadster. Much improved on the seating. That V12 is one big yellow monster. What's the story on the Golf at McGurk? Thank you.
That’s one of the problem with getting rid of cars that have done very few miles. They haven’t hit their full potential mpg. My car is still improving having done just under 5,000 miles.
That Yellow Aston Vantage is literally the best yellow colour I’ve seen on a car period. I’m sorry but neither Solar Beam yellow nor Giallo Modena can come close to it.
That police chase you saw was probably a TPAC (tactical pursuit and containment) training course, or potentially the officers doing the tactic for real
"the DBS was sold a day after they dropped off the vantage" ahahahaha i love how plain Tom's face was saying that knowing it was joining the collection
I get why Tim's selling the Yaris, but it'll definitely be missed & one car I'd love to see replace it is the Nissan 400z, I think they've got the design spot on this time, there'll be a ton of mods to make it a cool project & like the GR great fun on those tight B roads.
He should keep yaris and build motor and sequential gearbox! Turn it into what it represents and find some dirt roads that are I'm guessing plentiful in u.k and drive it like he stole it!! 😁 God bless all🙏
He's so fascinated by the windows dropping down when you open the door. Like half of the cars we have at work have that same feature and they are just normal, average everyday cars.
Wow just amazing how for back the engine seats back from the front wheels and the steering rack is in front of the engine too. Will the timing chain or belt being done ?
I always love seeing Fiatas (Fiat 124) on the channel! Although I guess you guys don't call the Mazda version a Miata so that name doesn't stick as well across the pond. LOL.
Police chasing that Peugeot. Saw same thing a couple of years ago on M6 northbound. Seems that they slow or stop traffic, chase the car down the hard shoulder. Continue to hold traffic back after police pass until way ahead is clear. When it happened to me I was right at the very front....and had wondered why the police went past me then immediately slowed right down and started weaving.
Police T-PAC training exercise is what you witnessed on the motorway. The Peugeot will have been a police instructor in a 'civilian' vehicle. That was too neat to have been an actual pursuit of a criminal.
@@davewright7512 Yes, this is why they train this way, no better training experience than replicating the real thing as close as possible, but a real criminal wouldn't take as much care driving past on the hard shoulder. They drove past too slowly for someone trying to get away from the police. The police, like any emergency service, have to take the risk into consideration, either sticking to a 40 mph or something speed limit or just drive slow enough to be able to stop on a debris covered surface (gravel etc) if an obstruction suddenly comes into view, a broken down vehicle or someone pulling out of the queuing traffic on hearing, but not looking for, them coming.
re lifts if cars are left on the lifts for long periods are you not worried about flat spots on the tires or from the back stop pressing against the rear tires ?
For those glass cabinets, can you replace the black "back wall" with another pair of glass doors? That way they can sit outside the tent and the contents can be seen from both sides - there wouldn't be a front/back anymore.
@@rjnation5042 But that would be difficult - getting glass cut to size, finding some way of mounting it. Whereas popping back to Ikea and just buying an extra set of glass doors for each cabinet is way easier - and offers opening from both sides.
FYI The Police 'chase' wasn't real...it was training. The bandit car is a Police trained driver...being trained to do TPAC. Tactical Pursuit and Containment...or Pursuit Management training....its all safely done to train drivers in as near realistic conditions as possible. Always good to do though. As ex Police we loved doing it.
The XJ220 was originally meant to be a v-12 but ultimately ended up with the twin-turbo V6. That is the reason for the additional space in the engine bay.
Makes a lot of sense!
I think they did take 8inchs of the overall length of the car as well, as they used the v6. It's still my dream car.
Correct, the original prototype did not even have room for a fuel tank
I'm also restoring a vantage right now. Interior next... Slight difference is that mine is a 1:24 scale model
Same thing though... right?😝

The Shmuseum Great Video I'm glad Tims Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is coming along well at Mcgurks and I'm glad its Bushes were replaced
I'm with Brad on this one. Finding a parking space on Regent Street is well worth taking a photo of. :D

The manifolds and cats on the vantage are worth a fair bit in power as well as the stockers are particularly restrictive.
The in-car sounds of the GR Yaris sounds pretty good!!!
100%
Much better than “chin spoiler” Tom!
Not stock though, it's horrible

Good job, guys. Glad to see the O.G. getting brought up to snuff.

Funnily enough the first thing I noticed was that restriction in that exhaust. Keep up the great work 👌🏻
That yellow Vantage is quite possibly the best colored car I've ever seen!
Same here!

15:52 A good reason for that. It was originally intended to be an AWD V12.
Not quite correct, they shortened the car as well, the original V12 did not even have room for a fuel tank
