Should we intersect the X bracing at the common point? If we intersect X bracing at the common point, will it make any difference? Also I would like to know how that particular arrangement of X bracing at the roof is arrived at? Also can you do a tutorial on industrial structure with crane load according to Is 800-2007?

There is no need to keep it alternative in each and every bay as per asce for every 3 bays 1 bracing is enough

Hi, I really enjoyed your presentation. It was good. But one doubt, what about all these nodal connections - are these all fixed connections or bolted and/or pin connections? will there be any changes? In the real life, many or most of the connections are bolted/pin connections. Just want to know if there are differences.. thanks a lot.
He must have released the members that are pin connected. This has more emphasis on modeling rather than design.

The structural engineer has to determine whether nominally pinned or nominally fixed bases are appropriate for the steel frame.
Is it right way of bracing placement

Can you help by providing video/s explaining in details the followings:
1- Design parameters for steel members using latest AISC code ( like Lx, Ly, Kx, Cb, UNB, etc..).
2- Design parameters for the cold formed members (Z & C shaped) using latest AISI code (Similar to above)
3- For the case where secondary beam with more than one span is supported on top of main supporting beam, how to define the behavior of secondary beam as continuous beam transferring vertical loads only without transferring moment to the supporting beam. Example is cold formed Z members at top of pitched roof main rafter.

Is it possible to add a haunch to the rafter / column connection? If so, how do you do it please? I cannot find anything relating to it in the Staad help menu

I ended up creating a built up section in the section wizard tool, using plates to represent the web and bottom flange of the haunch UB section. As the haunch section is tapered i used an average depth i.e half of the web depth for the length of the section.
What do you think, is that a reasonable way to approach it?

In roof truss why do not we provide flat section instead of angle section as filler members.?
Members of steel trusses don’t necessarily have to be angles, you can always use other steel sections. But angles might be preferable for quite a few reasons:
1- Forces in steel trusses aren’t considerably large
2- Angles are light in weight; which means lower cost and also reduced dead loads
3- Connections between angles are simple, and fabricated with ease, whether they’re bolted or welded
4- Angles offer a wide range of variety as you can use them singly, back to back and star shaped
Although, in steel bridges, HSS are more preferable; as they offer greater radii of gyration and torsional constants in order to cover large spans effectively and resist greater traffic and railway loads.

Sir, what is the height, breadth, length, area and size of the structure and what will be the cost for making it?
this depend on design engineer and what a consultant engineer required for the structure to be well strength and area on the project to be done .

if we intersec the bracing than we show lots of warning and huge time in analysis sir can you let me why we not intersec bracing ???????????????????
warnings can be removed if you assign and align and join the beam correctly with any overlapping in it ...

Pd. I´m Mexican but my professor has told me that we must not use Mexican beams because American beams are better but you use it, now i think you know more than my professor haha
yes i like to design some part in Mexican code & reason is some Indian rcc beams and columns have same code and properties to assign & thanks for appreciating me & your professor must be an intelligent man too :) :)

Please explain about rolling load
Rolling Loads-
Rolling loads are those loads which roll over the given structural element from one end to the another. You can see many live examples of rolling loads, like a train on the railway track, vehicles on the bridges or roads are rolling loads.
Now to analyse the given structural element for the rolling loads, which classify these rolling loads into the following classes:
(1) Single point rolling loads
(2) Uniformly distributed rolling loads, - a) shorter than span b) Longer than span.
(3) Two point loads at a fixed distance apart.
(4) Several point loads at fixed distance apart.
