Had to replace my heater tubes on my Ford Falcon Windsor V8 here in Australia and the heater tubes aren't available in Australia any more 🤦♂️ so had to import mine from America. This video was a huge help.
I'm in the same boat here in n.z my lower heater tube has a hole in it and cant find anything here or in aus.. the heater tubes u ordered where they identical
For anyone performing this task, I highly recommend also changing the valve cover gaskets at the same time since the upper intake needs to come off for that task too. Thank me later. ;)
this is an amazing addition!!!! Back in the day I had to hunt down and source an OEM 93 Cobra lower coolant tube so that I didn't have to run a crappy looking bypass hose or blockoff cap on the OEM GT tube..
Great video, I'm trying to find out what size and thread pitch the hole for the fitting is as I need to tap mine due to pulled threads when removing the old assembly, that info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a cobra intake on my 89 mustang, I have a egr spacer with the tubes to connect the nipple but I ordered one without the nipple, can I just cap the ends on my egr spacer and will work?
As long as the engine was a direct swap, it'll work. Since we don't have all the info on your swap and if you still have questions, give us a call at 1-866-507-3786 or email us with the link below: lmr.com/contact
Can someone please tell me what size the threads are on the heater pipe to manifold. I used a propane torch to heat the threads from inside and out and it gabled the threads a little so I need a tap to clean up the threads in manifold. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mine is a 1988 5.8L f250. I'm sure the threads are the same as a mustang
Joel - This heater tube is specific to 86-93 V8 cars. To my knowledge the 94-95 tube hasn't been available for a while unfortunately. Try checking a local salvage yard or even eBay for a good used one. Hope this helps. -Landan
I'm just wondering if its completely necessary to remove the intake and injectors or can I just remove the throttle body and move all that stuff away and change it out that way, cause the video seems like alot of work.
@@latemodelrestoration Disagree.Stock 86 GT was done with removing throttle-body assembly, you can wiggle the tube assembly out from underneath the fuel lines. Biggest pain is getting the fitting started into the intake, take your time & save a bunch without having to pull the top intake.
I did it on my car today. This is crazy long bunch of disconnecting! I unscrewed the front large nut with crescent wrench , then the intake bolt that holds the line bracket can be hit from straight above with an extension. From there I pulled it out towards the front. My alt is out so it may have given me clearance but I’d rather move an alternator than all that work done in the video and I not sure u have to have the alternator aside to pull out the line
This is for ease of removal when taking out the heater tube assembly. The fuel rail can get in the way when doing the removal and installation, so it's in your best interest to remove the fuel rail. - Jude H. - Social Media/Events Coordinator
@@latemodelrestorationYep, I see now... last night I got the tube assembly loose from everything and the closest I came to getting it out of the car was pulling it toward the radiator. I might've been able to get it out that way if I removed the fan first but decided since I'm going to replace the radiator anyway, I'll go ahead & take it out, making it even easier. I'd just rather not disturb those old fuel rail electrical connectors. Too bad Ford didn't tweak the heater tube assembly design a bit to simplify its removal.
Well, I'm finally back on this... ended up having to replace the water pump, tc cover, and drill out a broken bolt and install an insert. Car has 160k on it so I decided to just replace all fuel injectors (I mean, they're right there and easily accessible at this point). When pulling the injector rail, the #1 FI end cap didn't come out, so I used a dental pick and only the flange of it came out?! Where's the rest of it? Using a mirror and flashlight, I don't see it. Could the end of it have broken off at some point, dropped into the combustion chamber , then end up at the catalytic converter?

I don't think the answer has ever been confirmed. Because of that, there are many opinions floating around as to what it's actually for. I call it a crash bar because that's what it looks like. It could very well be a small brace for the upper/lower intakes. Most people don't put them back on once they're removed. -Landan

Yes.
On that 2g fire starter alternator, shouldn't the electrical connector be replaced if it is removed?
Lol I’ve owned 3 foxes with 2G alternators. Never had a fire occur.
My problem is, my engine is a roller from a 94 exploder, but this part is missing.
I wonder if this part will work?
