Its what helps you keep your aim steady so you can gun down enemies but also keeps you vulnerable to gun fire at the same time if you don’t see someone.
I think he's referring to the fact that the bipod inside of HLL is very glitchy when deploying. I agree, it's hard to have a good field of fire sometimes, because of the bipod. I hope they update it soon.
@@NotSenz thank u lol that is what I was referring to. Great video though I really do appreciate the detail and the hard work u put into making these I have watch all of them even though I’ve been playing sense release lol. I learned quite a lot
A good report on MG playing. Only one thought to bring out. Once engaged in rapid firing at enemy, they in turn will reign hell down on you... Hell Let Loose... on YOU! Yes. all of it. Arty, strafing runs, tanks of all sorts, AT guns built for you, and of course every enemy sniper out there. Tonight in game, four MGs shoulder to shoulder about ten feet apart, held off a last min ( ~ 7 min) together. It was awesome! We were cheered by our team behind us. And, yeah, we won...
similar thing happened to me tonight, except we lost because instead of holding out last point the team started heading into the middle of the map and we didnt have the manpower on the point to keep them back, but we held them for at least 25 min straight, and the major lifting was done by me and 3 other mg's locking down the fields leading to our spot
11:18 our range NCO would always tell us to say "Die MF Die" while shooting machine guns. Didn't matter if it was the M249 or the M240 the burst fire should be as long as it takes to say that lovely fraise lol
I find it weird the German MGs use drum magazines (which historically held 50-75 bullets) instead of a belt like the Browning, it's a cosmetic issue really but firing 250 rounds of full size rifle cartridges out of a drum just looks strange
Did a German MG gunner use another guy to feed the chain into the breach? And to carry the chain of ammo? Or did they carry their own ammo.. and use a box attachment to carry it?
@@jonnyapplesead737 Yes. MG34/42 teams would operate in pairs. One operating the weapon while the other would feed ammo by smoothening out the ammunition belt as it was being fed into the rifle laterally. If a specific standing firing position was needed based on the amount of cover they had in the field, the machine gun operator would would place the MG34/42 barrel on the standing ammunition carrier's shoulder, while the ammunition would be pulled upwards out of the Patronenkasten without hinderance. The Patronenkasten 34 was developed to be a lightweight ammunition box to carry ammunition for the MG 34. It was capable to carry 300 belted 7,92 mm rounds.
Especially airheads. There was one time when the commander saw an airhead dropping and we were able to get suppressive fire on it from the moment they spawned.
As a Squad Leader direct your MGs fire using your binos and pings. I'll have my MG fire right on my ping while I walk his rounds into groups of enemies at 300+ yards. While my MG, a rifleman and myself are making the enemies life hell the rest of my squad is moving on the garry or OP unmolested.
Applying real world tactics is huge here. Cover your teammates when they are moving in. That suppression needs to be timed with your squads movement to be effective. You suppress, they close in. When they have a new angle, they suppress while you move up. Then rinse, repeat. This is how flanks are created and broken.
Good point; I didn't mention anything like that in the video because i'm not trained in combat and don't know how to be effective with real-world tactics.
@NotSenz I only have a clue about it because I been binging videos about military tactics over the last few weeks. 😆 Lots of good videos explain8ng rhe basics of fire and movement. Theres a few different formations, but the idea of suppression coupled with movement is there no matter the squad makeup. I think the saying is "firepower without movement is pointless; movement without suppression is suicide". Something along those lines.
Thanks for the feedback. I honestly haven't spent one game as SL, but I would love to try it out and I also feel more comfortable knowing what each role does. This game is still a learning process for me - I really enjoy it.
Please invite me to your next range day, lol. I agree though. It would give the MG for the Soviets a little more versatility, since the actual gun has some drawbacks. Thanks for watching!
I don't see why not. I have the game and love what i've seen so far, I just would want to get a group together to be able to play, since it would be more fun than going solo with the AI's.
Shoot burst while suppressing enemy, I am pretty sure, the screen being smooth after one burst for 3 seconds, you can shhot 1 belt for 25 seconds, shoot burst of 2 seconds, and 3 seconds break, I will support your team for longer time!
It depends. If you know people are somewhere you should shoot 5 - 7 round bursts. If you arent sure and you're just doing a little recon by fire then use 3 - 4 round bursts. Let her rip a nice 10 rounder when yoyr squad needs to advance through open area
When you hit “T” to show the HUD, the amount of reloads you have will be on the bottom right of the screen. (You can see this at 1:37 in the video) Also, when they’re out of ammo, they won’t shoot anymore.
if your not pumping out at least 8500 rounds in a game your not a pro MG my best game was 8500 rounds to 27 kills don't think i seen half the people i shot MG42 for the win
You notice when you have a good MG in your squad. You notice FASTER when the enemy team have good MGs. Great video.
Complelty agree. When your able to call your mg in to lay down suppressive fire it helps so much when pushing enemy positions.
Don’t forget the worst enemy of all for the machine gunner…. The bipod lmfao

Is strange but no one would play with the MGs if they had only 50 rounds and they would be bad at suppressing

When I play machine gunner and need to reload I aim up to the sky if I'm bipoded. It shrinks your character more behind cover but not entirely.
Absolutely. As Level 10 MG, it's best used as an aggressive defense to counter enemy flanking assaults.
