Next gen console and PCs needs a great Snowboarding game in general. I'm kind of surprised that Microsoft didn't release their (exclusive game series, Amped, for Xbox One. That game itself will totally give me a reason to get an Xbox One.
My main problem with the game is that, the courses are so vast that it doesn't give u that competitive feel with the other CPU's. I prefer more linear tracks where it has its moments with the huge jumps and stuff. It was always exhlirating to be riding down while the other racers are next to you or bumping into you. This courses are huge and cool as hell but forgettable. SSX 3 will always be the best entry. It felt alot more intense .
I agree, it felt like you were riding the mountain alone after 1 minute. They should've added more CPU racers. I liked to see the other characters ride at my side and punch them haha.
I've had the game dice it came out. It has released an update that has a somewhat true multiplayer that's really decent for making credits. If you get the DLC, you get Mount Eddie which I think is the biggest mountain in the game that has huge jumps and clusterfucks of grinds. That DLC also comes with Retro versions of Moby, Eddie, Mac, Kaori, Elise, Psymon, and Zoe. Moby, Eddie, Kaori, Elise, and Zoe all have their SSX Tricky skins. Mac and Psymon have their SSX 3 skins. So much nostalgia. The DLC also comes with three tracks from John Morgan all from previous games (Top Bomb, Gin and Sin, and Darkpath). If the review was made today, it would probably be a 9.5 at least.
I want to like this game. I really do. But I just couldn't get into it. It just felt so different to me. Granted, that's most likely because I've only ever player SSX Tricky apart from this one, but I still wish I could enjoy playing this game.

I just got SSX for my birthday, and i wasn't to sure about it, but when i tried the tutorial my head exploded! It was so amazing that i played it all night long. I haven't played the other snowboarding games for the ps2 but this game makes me wanna play all of them. In conclusion i give it a 10.
Dear game making people, Please make a new snowboard/free ski that is more like Skate and less like Tony Hawk. Something a little more pure. The key would be very large open maps where you can interact with all sort of different parts of the map. Not a bunch of rails and flashing lights though, just some tree branches, little cabins, and benches or some stuff like that to work with. I don't know, maybe that's why I say free ski so its more reasonable for people to mess around on areas they like by just skiing back up he hill (you should make that really easy to do btw). There should be online multiplayer where your friends are there with you in the session. Then you can set up crazy jumps and tricks with all your buddies and make your way down huge mountains and stuff all together. it would be dope. Slopestyle with your friends on the same map would be sweet. Please someone make it happen. thanks

I just bought this the other day for ps3 and had a bash earlier. Bit of a learning curve but immensely enjoyable nonetheless and I can see many hours being wasted trying to pull off insane trick combos :) Only other snowboarding game I ever got into was 1080 on the 64 and this is like that..on drugs lol

They pretty much cleaned up every weak part of multiplayer. You can now actually compete with people in real time in 3-2-1 go race and trick it events. Not just compete in brackets. You just bet a certain amount before each event and winner takes all. EA also added free ride like in SSX 3. They added weather changes for certain tracks. If you liked past SSX's, then I say get it.
I just got this game on Xbox LIVE and I have to say this: the wingsuit is hard as HELL to control! it's always veering off in random directions for me and it keeps smashing me into a fucking wall!
I honestly think that the new ssx is worse then most of the older ssx games. ssx on tour had a large open world, a better soundtrack, unique environments, the attitude or a high school doodler's notebook (which was awesome), and focused on outrageous gameplay than challenge. I'd take being able to go from grind to grind fifty times for 2 miles over trying to beat a high score any day. This game is AWEFUL I wanted to love it but the controls are horrible, the levels are just plain stupid, the graphics are not that good, and characters have NO personality whats so ever. I've been an SSX fan since 3 came out. I've played every single one and if you look at the game critically like this amazing reviewer did. This is the best SSX game out there. You can all say 3 but this honestly wipes the floor with it

Hardly verbal and ugly by design (Mac, Mobby, Zoe, Psymon) Elise and Griff are the only ones whom aged well and looked good as characters. 7) controls are okay besides having that damn rewind mechanic. Overall this is the worst ssx in it's series I'd rather play Blur than this.. I'll admit the DLC was dope.
A realistic snowboarding game would be awesome but you're right: most people who enjoy this game don't ride in real life. Realism has it's place but games tend to be more about fantasy and the intangible in my opinion. It would be great to see how a truly realistic snowboarding game would look.

Are you triggering the wingsuit mid-turn/flip? If so, that is why. Try triggering it while upright

You can now go head to head in real time against 4 other people (3-2-1 go events) and get paid instantly after you all reach the finish. Also, there is a freeride mode now in singleplayer.

The online is awsome for me. I love setting a high score that no one could beat and then cashing in millions of credits, makes me feel like a king.
At least it got online head to head multiplayer. That made me happy
I still play SSX (The original), SSX Tricky, SSX 3 and now this SSX. I grew up playing SSX
The SSX games during those times were meant to be played on the PS2.
I wouldn't call it a sequel, since there's already been 5 games beforehand, but i really hope they make another one.
please do either a remake of on tour or a new game because the skiing on SSX on tour has skis in it. and i love it.

I've been an SSX fan since 3 came out. I've played every single one and if you look at the game critically like this amazing reviewer did. This is the best SSX game out there. You can all say 3 but this honestly wipes the floor with it

Donovan Douglas Dude everybody haves their own distinct TRICKY move and really no need for you to complain about the game because it shows that EA still acknowledges the series's experience. Plus it's a reboot built from the ground up so do you really expect them to make a exact copy of the originals?

2) Exactly. That's why it's boring playing characters that all do the same moves.
3)Having thing for Ridernet just to break records is stupid.. Why have a special feature to break somebody's record? It should be just there as an feature not something that's been in the series since 2000
4) the drops were all boring and not memorable to a point where I couldn't even search a track on UA-cam besides "ssx gameplay ps3"
5) The new characters are boring and forgettable.
6) the veterans characters are just as boring as they were in Blur and On Tour. Hardly verbal and ugly by design (Mac, Mobby, Zoe, Psymon) Elise and Griff are the only ones whom aged well and looked good as characters.
7) controls are okay besides having that damn rewind mechanic.
Overall this is the worst ssx in it's series I'd rather play Blur than this.. I'll admit the DLC was dope.
Ssx on tour is the best ssx hands down

A realistic snowboarding game would be awesome but you're right: most people who enjoy this game don't ride in real life. Realism has it's place but games tend to be more about fantasy and the intangible in my opinion. It would be great to see how a truly realistic snowboarding game would look.
