      Especially for the age of the kids, its quite strict. Its also not good parenting imo. If someone is smoking, you try to help them to stop, dont just tell them "its not allowed". (Wasnt he outside the school also when he was smoking).

    I'm sorry, but this family doesn't seem that strict? Like, I think all they do is pretty reasonable. The chores, eating what you put on your plate, following school rules. The only thing I see as difficult is the farm stuff, but I've never done any of that so it may be why.
    Edit: I'm Latina, so I think our parenting is different from Australia, but I still think the South African parents are really shaping their kids to be great adults.
