Hey thanks for featuring my mod again @sonicovertime ! If anyone is curious this mod does more than modify Rhea island itself, it modifies Kronos, Rhea, Ouranos, and Final Horizon to have as much of the content from each stage as possible loaded at once into a single open zone. There's tons of features such as early access to additional power seeds, access to Final Horizon as early as Kronos, additional Chaos Emerald vault locations, 45 guardians on a single island, 80 portal gears, 25 Cyber Space portals, and 4 Big fishing portals. Feel free to check it out in the page linked in this video's description.
This Is Why I Wish More Guardian Extension Mods Should Be Made, I Have Porred Hours In The Games Combat, HECK I've Beaten Some Of Final Horizons Guardians At Level 1 Strength And On Pre Patch Max Stats With The Other 3.
I think this would be even better if for this island only, the guardian themes were turned off, to maintain the dread and emotion that the island is supposed to give off.
Why add platforming challenges and guardians in Rhea? If the goal is to climb the towers, why do anything else? There's a reason why Rhea only has the 6 towers and a few tracks for the jukebox.
Why add Power and Defense seeds, Skill Points & [insert game mechanic here]? If the goal is to beat the game, why add anything else? Honestly, it just should've been the final boss. That way, I can beat the game in the exact same time it takes Chris-Chan to get himself off! (Guess I should put a trigger warning for satire here. Dunno _why_ satire triggers people, but apparently it does.)
@@axain7784 Power and defense seeds are meant to further encourages exploration so you'll have better chances against enemies. You need to fight enemies to get portal gears, which are necessary to unlock cyberspace stages. On Rhea, there aren't any cyberspace stages so you don't have any need to fight enemies for any purpose. Adding platforming challenges in the other islands is necessary because they either give you memory tokens or lead you somewhere important. On Rhea island, you don't collect memory tokens. All the towers are free to climb, and aren't blocked behind a certain platforming challenge beforehand (the tower IS the platforming challenge). On other islands, there were reasons to include a variety of different activities. On Rhea, all you need is to climb towers, and no other activity counts towards progression. Therefore, doing platforming challenges and fighting guardians on Rhea is meaningless. If this modder wants to add more activities to Rhea, he must consider the purpose they serve. He must add reasons for their existence. Maybe make it so that the towers are sealed, and in order to break the seal (and eventually climb them) you must collect memory tokens and portal gears. That way, you'll have a reason to participate in the open zone platforming challenges and fight guardians. As of now, even if I download this mod, what reason do I have to participate in any activity that isn't climbing towers (and collecting songs for the jukebox cuz I like these songs)?
Creator of the mod here. To clarify, the mod does not just alter Rhea Island. The mod alters Kronos, Rhea, Ouranos, and Final Horizon to make it so almost all content from each stage is always active no matter which stage you're in. The idea is to treat all four of them as happpening in the same single open world just spread accross four chapters plus Ares and Chaos Island. Your only objective is to shut down the towers in Rhea yes but things such as the Final Horizon towers are visible to indicate a sense of progression that the towers Sonic will use to meet the Titan pilots in a later chapter have appeared. As for the guardians shown in this video, that's an optional feature that can be turned on or off in the mod settings. The idea behind it is an enhanced sense of narrative immersion since Rhea is when Sonic is severely handicapped from cyber corruption and also when he's about to release The End not realizing what he's doing. To that end I thought it would be a neat immersive idea to have the island's defenses, which exist to keep The End from being released, commit everything they have to stopping Sonic from getting up those towers as a final act of desperation after he destroyed the Titans. They're giving everything they have to protect the prison keeping The End from wreaking havoc.
@@Jacktheinfinite101 I like hearing the POV of creation. Here are my 2 cents regarding such an opinion though: 1. You still didn't give me a good enough reason to explore Rhea. If my main objective is to climb the 6 towers, why do I have to platform in the open zone? The other islands incentivized exploration for memory tokens, power and defense seeds, fighting enemies for skill points, fighting guardians for portal gears and cyberspace for vault keys. There was always a purpose for something to exist GAMEPLAY-WISE. You had reasons to explore the maps and participate in the platforming challenges throughout it. If you don't give me a reason to do that on Rhea, I'll just go to climb the towers to get a move-on. 2. I appreciate the idea behind adding guardians as a last ditched effort by the ancients' defense systems to stop Sonic from climbing the towers. You could've made it clearer and more coherent gameplay-wise if you made it so you HAVE TO fight guardians to access to towers. Imagine if the towers were sealed and required 1 or 2 portal gears to be unsealed (and then Sonic can climb them). That way, the guardians securing the towers will be more relevant since you'd have to fight them in order to climb the towers, while also integrating narrative integrity and gameplay. As for map exploration, I have a suggestion. Make it so that when you activate the switch at the top of each tower, you need memory tokens to do so. That will incentivize exploration and platforming in the open zone. Add a zip line to go straight to the top if you've already climbed it and had to go back down for more memory tokens to cut backtracking, and you're golden. At the end of the day though, you're making this mod so it's up for you to decide. I think my suggestions will give reasons for things to exist on Rhea besides "I want to fill Rhea with content".

I really like the idea of having a swarm of guardians to evade due to them guarding the towers. 11 towers in a row takes about 30 minutes.. dang xD.

Also I Think You Have Tower 4 In Mind, Cause When I Look At The Gameplay, I Never Saw Any Guardians Near The Tower
Also Does There Exist A Mod Like This Without The Towers?
0:41 The way the chuckle was delivered was tear sheding. You can tell Sonic is trying to hide the pain and exhaustion he feels.😢
Rhea-ally cool mod
Cool pun dude
I was expecting The Final Horizon update to be something like this.
Interesting concept, definitely would've been cool to have in the game.

Shadow's Island in Frontiers 2 will be titled that.😆

Its kinda cool, but seeing all those Guardians in one spot is scary
