It's such a small thing but I don't like the extra sections in Metal Harbour being added *right* at the start. Like there's something so special and iconic about the start of Metal Harbour, the music kicking in as Sonic flies into the level and around that loop. The energy and excitement seems taken out a bit

Green Forest, Final Chase, and the Burnout level are the must watch levels!! While others still got changes but aren't as drastic. I love the original proportion models, They just feel natural. The movement sensitivity has been completely reworked, and definitely am not entirely used to it yet. My muscle memory gets me every time.

I'm not a fan of Shadow's slower skating animation - I think the original was more frantic and the speed seemed to come more from Shadow rather than his skates - but you really outdone yourselves with Rouge's animations. Her wing flapping looks so cool and her stage clear animation is miles ahead of the original one.
The potential here is insane. I had an interesting thought while watching: the less grating emerald tracker is a welcome change and it fits with Rouge, but it occurred that Knuckles would sense them differently than her. It would be cool if he had a more... spiritual interpretation of the emerald tracker. Idk if the mod creator would even see this, but I thought it was a cool idea.
That's the best Shadow skate animation I've ever seen in any Sonic game or fangame, it really conveys the pushing momentum from his jets. It's so addictive to watch 🤤

If this mod just lets me use all the original stages, with updated textures, the updated versions of the original models, the new animations, original voice actors that would be great. Then maybe use the RTX remix tool to add raytracing and it's pretty much perfect. I just don't like all this extra stuff. The rail grinding looks different too, the original version was only broken because of the ports. so I don't like that this one looks more toned down.
The fact that sometimes you lose control over the characters says that deep down is the same buggy garbage but with an outstanding job done, we all see that there's a lot of time, knowledge and a lot of love too spent on this. Congratulations, looks great.

To whoever did this, THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING THE "PRESSURE" feeling that Sonic Adventure 2 has on Sonic's running animation! DAMN! I've never seen a better running animation since SA2!! All the other official games have made it look so weird and I've always liked SA2's running animation because it looks like he is really running REALLY FAST. WOW It just feels like the web swing system from Spiderman 2 for PS2 and the PS4 Spiderman upgraded version. No other spiderman game has made it as good as spiderman 2 (PS2) but that is because the developers explicitly took that game's system because it did feel really good. I'm so happy that there are more devs that do take these veeery tiny details into consideration. THANK YOU!
this mod from what I've seen (and played on my own) is a fantastic showcase of what can be done modding wise these days. It looks and plays great. I do wish there was a setting to do away with the modders added in level design and just revert the level design itself to what it was originally, same thing with vocals though.
I feel like the dreamcast era games are a lot more momentum-based than the modern sonic games, which helps to make it feel like you're earning the feeling of going fast asf, but it's also harder to control. I think it'd be interesting to see a return to more a momentum-focused gameplay philosophy and how Sonic team would iterate on the existing gameplay to make that happen without it being frustrating to play.
I will say, the fact that Escape from the City isn't blarring loudly is my only criticism, you can barely hear it in the background except for when you stand still
A lot added/fixed, while retaining a lot of the original charm? I'm quite impressed! The animations especially are great, and honestly the biggest graphical issue I have with SA2 base is the model animation, so it's a huge improvement. There's a spot or two where I personally would have shaded something differently, but given how it seems most 'graphic updates' just completely wash out everything and make their textures real ugly, I can't complain about it.
The fact they added grass in the SA2 game engine shows how far u can take it with modding SA2
