I remember when Sears would have glass door dishwashers on display to show to the public what goes on inside your dishwasher as it's cleaning your dishes.
We had the James ¨Let James do it!"was their slogan. I recall the model being an early version not as big as your machine. We spent hours just looking at the dishes being washed. Thanks for the video.
I like the way your video' are put together, very explanatory and easy to read, and good camera quality as well, I love to collect vintage vintage items!
Love this video! I always love your videos DishwasherCrazy! Especially the Top-Loading Dishwashers! These always interested me..Dunno why, they just did! Looking forward to more of these!
Yes, the James hooks up to any sink faucet using a quick disconnect fill/drain hose assembly. The hoses that came with this machine when I bought it last year were bad, so I replaced it with a generic dishwasher hose assembly from Marcone. By the way, I just found out last week that my particular James Dishwasher originally came with a Universal gas range...made in Chicago by the Cribben and Sexton co.; it rolled out from the left of the oven where the storage drawer would have been.
halfwit134: Thank you so much. That was, I believe, my first video, and it had alot of my shaky hands holding the camera. I have learned how better to edit and produce my videos. I need to make some more. Mike
@frezzalata It was... We had an early version of a "dish drawer" in our first house. It pulled out of the cabinetry like a drawer, and had something that looked like a Mickey Mouse hat on the bottom to spray the water, but it REALLY cleaned well...
Did you find the plates effectively cleaned? Noticed not to see the advertised wall of water of water throughout the chamber. Was this unit a built-in or a portable? A nice save of a vintage machine!
Your machine is not working properly. It is overfilling and the sweep flow action is impeded because the entire spray tube appears to be under water. Also the plates are loaded in such a way as to concentrate the wash action on the back side which is fine if you eat off the bottoms and not the tops . It's fun to see but it looks like you are demonstrating that you need help from a qualified service man.

We had one of these when I was a kid. I used to watch it do it's thing since it had the glass top.

That's quite a sophisticated washer, much more so than any of the two GE machines.

I purchased one of these back in the day - a new fridge and washing machine too. We thought we were rich in those days.
akuapiatas well we had all the KitchenAid range including dishwasher
That's awesome.
Does it heat up water, or does it take in hot water?
The spray patterns on this are so confusing. Is it an arm or spiral rotating sprayer or something?
About the pump going at the beginning of the cycle on these old machines - apparently they were to pump out the water til the water was hot enough.
Are u still around? I ask because this was 14 years ago. I still watch your 1950 Homart GE demonstration. I love this one also

This unit was some type of portable. I could tell by the hoses connected to the sink faucet.
Where would the soap go in?
Very poor wash action. I can see why they're no longer around.
Awesome!
I don't understand,is it a top loader?
