Great information about Benjamina ficus care...really making them tempting...Good looking tree...Thanks for all the good information and sharing it...Sequim, WA...
Clumpy! ❤😂 I won't name my trees, I'll get too attached if something goes wrong.. and PLENTY has gone wrong this year 😅 But lots of things were learned.
Yes I know what you mean! I've been guilty of getting too attached to a tree. Sometimes I irrationally get mad at one if it dies. "But I cared for you!..."
I have been using the same sifter for my bonsai soil for years now. It's great for getting out that extra bit of dust that accumulates even with newly mixed soil. I think it's awesome how you find names for your trees. I should try with some of mine 😆 Really though it gives them a sort of character feel. 'Clumpy' is coming along great 👍🏽
Thanks! And yeah I'm digging my new little sifter scoop thing. I'm a sucker for finds like that. And yeah, naming the tree is fun, and it helps me when it comes to organizing all the pictures/video folders I have.
Always nice hearing the thinkings of outer bonsai enthusiasts. The only "clump style" attempt I have is one I made this summer actually. It is from cuttings of a ficus religiosa and heh we will see what that becomes. And is only 3 stems btw if that disqualify as clump style lol. Cheers mate and see you in next video.
@@BonsaiBoise I am playing with bonsai but I am a cactus, succulent, and desert rose growing guy. The Napa #8822 is 100% Diatomaceous earth. Similar products can turn mushy. Turface MVP I love. 40 pound bag around $20. For those not familiar Turface MVP is the clay put on the base path at baseball games. I find it at irrigation stores.
I love ficus benjamina..but I also hate that they don't always back bud or branches will randomly die after pruning, even if you leave several pairs of leaves..
Yeah they can be stubborn. A couple of those "bush to bonsai" projects are a good example. Sooner or later I think they'll back bud, but they're fighting it.

Thanks! And yeah I get what you mean. I think these clump styles kind of morph into fusions over time. Cheers!
I got a little ficus cuz of you
Try turface. Dry Stall (NOT Stall Dry), Napa Auto has a good clay
Oh awesome! How's it going so far?
I usually get the one from O'Reilly's called "floor dry"

Love that clump. Did one some time ago but can't decide whether its a fusion or a clump. Also done one with a spirea, and a snowberry. Both doing ok.
Oh I've never had a spirea or a snowberry!

Is it a Benjamina or Tiger Park cause I am confused?
@@sheriefkamal787 it's a ficus Benjamina.
