    It’s a Motion VFX commercial (which is fine as you have to pay bills, but I’m not a fan of them for the following reasons). I have all kinds of problems with their stuff, I’ve dumped hundreds of dollars into their products and then when I switched over to the M1 MacBooks half of their stuff that I purchased do not work, and the other half only half works. I get the red screen of death when I render 50% of the time. I’ve reached out to them several times and they just tell me. Oh, sorry, we’re working as fast as we can to get everything converted over, but it seems like to me that they’re just working mainly to put out new products for you to purchase and are not really working on the older stuff to be compatible. I suppose you could argue that it’s not their fault but at the same time when you have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of stuff and the technology moves forward and they have the ability to go back and make it compatible. I feel like they should. But even some of the stuff they say is M1 compatible I still have problems with, so I just now steer clear of their stuff. So my main issue as if you spent hours editing a video and you use a lot of their elements and then you render out and all of the elements you use are supposed to be M1 compatible, and they’re not, and you get red scream with the T symbol over the section, it’s frustrating. I just don’t like to use their products because I don’t know 100% that I’m not going to get that red screen.

      I wish Motion VFX was sponsoring this video. It is true I got a small percentage through affiliate sales, but its nothing significant. I genuinely have loved motion vfx products.
      Thats unfortunate about your experience, I only started using them once I got my M1 macbook so I havent had problems.

    Tracking on final cut is so easy. I wish Adobe Implements something like this in premiere pro. Nice drone flying over the snow. No snow in nyc yet.

    I was hoping you knew how to use a tracker but how to use it when an object is in front of the thing you track and how to handle that to keep the track smooth....also when the track leaves the camera view....I don't know how to deal with both scenarios?

    This is so cool! Teppo, I'm wondering. You said earlier that you may look into DaVinci Resolve so that you can give more comparison so I'd like to know whether you've gotten into it. Because I'm wondering whether to leave DaVinci Resolve behind and pay for Final Cut. I've just started to learn DaVinci but I can see that not all plugins that you find on Motion VFX can be used with it and from this point of view Final Cut seems more useful. On the other hand, from what I've seen DaVinci seems better for colour grading (although it's fair to say that I haven't grown into shooting log and colour grading just yet). So, what do you think?

    • @TeppoHaapoja
      @TeppoHaapoja  Рік тому

      I haven't had a chance to test out Davinci but for my workflow Final Cut definitely has been good.

    Hi!
    I wanted to ask, how do you remember all of the different ways to pose somebody on a wedding shoot? I have the video skills down I believe but when I get there I kind of freeze up and forget all the different ways to pose people? Thanks!

    • @TeppoHaapoja
      @TeppoHaapoja  Рік тому

      I usually have a few standard poses I go to always, and then if I forget, I have a few pose examples in my phone that I can quickly slide to and check out.
      My friend Stefan Kunz also made this cool infographic,

      I’ll ask another 😅
      When trying to get video for fun or for a client where they will want portrait for Reels and TikTok but also of course landscape, do you recommend shooting in a different aspect ratio or trying to get each shot twice with just flipping the camera sideways or what? My gimble does let me quickly switch to vertical but it feels awkward to make people do the same thing again

    • @TeppoHaapoja
      @TeppoHaapoja  Рік тому +1

      @@johnrussellseal723 I would usually just crop in and take the frames out for Reels or tiktok, if there wanting both. But if its only a project for tiktok / reels that Id film it all vertical to begin with.
