- The Daily Wire's teaser for their own Snow White movie caused quite a stir, but not much is known about the film itself. So I decided to ask the man behind the project what its all about.
This is NOT an endorsement of Shapiro's political views or opinions - this is just an interview about a movie. - Розваги
The irony of Peter Dinklage, who became famous playing a dwarf character, criticizing casting little people as dwarves never fails to get me.
Literally costing other people with the same condition jobs. So dumb.
I remember seeing an interview with wee-man about what he thought. And he said it was stupid because they are taking jobs away from little people.
It’s the classic “closing the door behind you” move that successful people like to do. He wants the roles for himself so he can’t allow any newcomers on the scene that could replace him.

I love how these interviews come out of absolutely nowhere and blind side us.
For real. The Russell Crowe one caught me completely off guard. I know the Drinker is really well-known and everything, but DAMN.

One of the best quips I ever heard was when Nerdrotic said “Stop giving money to people who hate you.” Whilst Ben and I don’t see eye to eye on everything, he clearly doesn’t hate me or my children. I’m happy to put my money into a company that is going offer a good alternative to the garbage that is out there at the moment.
And I'm sure Ben welcomes that. He's always happy to come to the table with people who disagree and try to win them over with ideas and content of character. I don't always agree with him but I appreciate the way he discusses things openly and respectfully.
I relate a lot to Ben, I think about transgender all day long. Non stop.

Give us Indiana Jones (by another name). Just don't kill it with nukes and fridges, aliens, or too much sexism (a teeny taste could be okay for comedy sake).
Make the person afraid of snakes to steal some of his thunder. But maybe also make him very interested in snakes. So he knows the make and model and how poisonous it is or isn't, but ether way he melts when faced with one!

The funny thing is, these people could've just not done any of this stuff, and we wouldn't know they hated us. They could've just made movies we wanted to see and quietly hate us in their private lives. We wouldn't be any the wiser, but they had to come out publicly and say it.

I once heard Kurt Russell (IMO one of the great actors) talk about his "opinions" in an interview. He said that he believes that he should keep his personal opinions on things to himself. He said that he's an entertainer, and the moment he offers a personal position on real things, he is no longer entertaining the audience, and therefore no longer doing his job.
I like that.

My girlfriend pointed out that Disney is discriminatory towards dwarf actors by not choosing to hire them in the first place, traditionally dwarf actors have a tough time in Hollywood since very few applicable roles ever come up and they’re usually for comedic reasons. Snow White is a rare case where it offers an underserved group the potential to make money doing something they love, acting. Disney’s current mantra seems to be selective inclusivity

In Dinklage’s defense his hope seemed to be that those shouldn’t be the only roles for small people. Fair enough. But he messed up when he implied removing those roles all together as though that would force Hollywood into employing these actors in other standard roles regardless of height. He should’ve just kept pushing for casting in other roles while not removing these roles all together. But he seems to see no value in roles that only small people could fill. Which is kinda like telling McD’s to offer $20/hour and instead of them just giving everyone raises they give a few raises and replace the rest with machines. But in this case Hollywood does away with the problem all together using CGI on taller folks to fill the roles or using 100 cgi all together. And the unintended consequences is people have less jobs rather than more.
It’s the same with harvesting good stories from history. Rather than finding good stories from all over the world to bring to light and give opportunity, they give people sloppy seconds which is as insulting as anything.
@@admirallily Dinklage doesn't deserve a defense. He's a drunk pissy snob who thinks he perfectly walked the line of integrity and everyone should stay out to avoid the risk exploitation. The only credit I will give him is he is a fantastic actor. He really needs to focus on his strengths on his level and let the people below him do their things and trust they will mostly get it right.

As a Christian, I was subjected to bad Christian movies through my childhood. As such, I've become hyper-critical of stuff produced by "my side" because usually Christian or Conservative production studios don't have much money or couldn't be bothered by production standards because "the message is more important". Daily Wire has certainly done a better job than most and I hope they keep it up, improve, and grow.

It's truly a shame since if you look back at history, Christian art is amazing. The Bible tells us to do as unto the Lord in whatever we do, so we should be the most concerned with quality but as CCM vs the old hymns will show you we don't really do that anymore.

One of the reasons why Ben's very conservative family had annual passes to DisneyLand was because, once upon a time, Disney was very specific that they were wholesome and safe and cared about creating that sense of wonder and magic. Even for adults, Disney meant nostalgia and coziness.
Walt Disney was a Democrat turned Republican... things started to change at Disney after Walt died. Nothing can change my mind that this was on purpose with the approval of the Disney family.
Disney has forsaken the parents. They are now interested only in your children.
@@redacted2275 That is how things usually change. Look at Tolkien estate. Tolkien's son was very careful to respect his fathers stories and legacy, he grew beside it, after he died the grandkids seem to have quite different view about the whole thing.
Which seems to be quite often the case with generational things, one generation creates things and later generations then do not respect the legacy that much because they were never part of actually creating it, they just get it handed over.

The last time we went, turns out to be the last time I would ever go, and was back in 2011. Those vacations were simply magical, due to the world Walt had created. Were I to go there now to see a bearded man in a dress outside Snow White's Castle, I would find it EXTREMELY difficult not to call him out for it. I will never go there again 😿

It's to give the people who love and appreciate classic Disney films a chance to see a movie that stays true to the original story and Walt Disney's value set. The only solution to save Disney from wokeness is to fire every single far left, insanity peddler in charge. Until that happens, Disney will have to continue self imploding from their own bad decisions until the entire empire falls. Hopefully, there's enough left afterwards to rebuild while adhering to the values that Walt Disney insisted on from the beginning and that made Disney into the giant it became.
Whether or not a person likes The Daily Wire or agree with their politics, we have to respect that they are making something. A lot of people that complain about things being too woke or modernized aren't really making anything themselves. There's a saying that goes, "If you want something done right, do it yourself."
Totally. Left leaning individual here who literally can't stand listening to Ben Shapiro in most contexts, applauding him and the Daily Wire for standing up to the "themes over substance" stance that has ruined modern entertainment. Hopefully this competition brings these studios back on track, in addition to bringing new players into the game.

It's not a "spite film", the Disney film is a spite film, this is the Daily Wire realising Disney just blue balled a market and giving that market the real thing and not some hate film made by a dying, increasingly irrelevant, giant.

One of the things I appreciate about the Daily Wire is its stance against pushing one message. You'd expect a company focused on political commentary to make everything political, but when they took on Gina Carano to do Terror on the Praire, there was no messaging, just a decent western. Then Disney, on the other hand, despite being an entertainment company, regularly fires staff and writers who want to make worthwhile films instead of inserting "the message."
Is the Gina Carrano movie on physical media? Daily Wire should look into getting a distributor for home video.
I used to watch Ben a lot, fell off of it as I entered college. We don’t agree on everything, but I completely support this move. I have been dying for accurate, respectful portrayals of amazing stories. Disney has been killing my soul with their movies. I will 100% be doing everything I can to watch this movie.
Yeh Ben is a very divisive character. I love listening to him and he's done great stuff but sometimes his political and economic views shift heavily into his belief over the logic he displays for other things.
I'm glad DW is doing a snow white movie. Disney is now a place for men to dress as a women, so they can live out their fantasy.
We don’t all have to agree on everything, we don’t have to walk in lock step on every issue. That’s what makes this country great, and what separates us from “the cult.”
I can't say I'll be watching it, but that's mostly because I don't care about these kinds of movies. I'd much rather have this version of it exist, however.

I think the most surprising part is that this is an in person interview, which either means that Drinker flew Ben Shapiro out to Scotland, or Shapiro flee Drinker out to America. That’s quite the trip for a rather simple interview
EDIT: So it would appear that Shapiro was in the UK recently for a speech, so that’s probably when the interview happened. So, that would explain it

I think this interview is initiated/sponsored by dailywire. Dailywire is trying to advertise their hell-no-we-ain't-woke version of snow white and probably understands where its woke-hating audiences are.
But I'm actually very excited to see Ben Shapiro as snow white.
the drinker was in the states quite recently so they probably set it up in advance or it might have been done on his recent trip to Croatia / Montenegro
I've only known of the Drinker for a couple years now, but to see how much his channel has grown and the respect Will has garnered himself as an interviewer has been really awesome to watch.

I was concerned about the movie quality, until the kids started watching Runes on Bentkey and I couldn't stop watching with them. The storyline, characters, and animation are incredible. I will take the whole family to the theater to see Snow White. It's going to be GOOD.

I first started watching the critical drinker when I had covid, and through the past couple of years, not only have I enjoyed the gut busting laughs, but I've come to really respect this man for drawing a line in the sand against the insanity of the culture we live in.

Me too. I was pretty despondent during Covid and Drinker was such a great discovery. Had me howling with laughter at the Clown World we were (are) living jn. Devoured his back catalogue as did my son. Now, when anything irritates me, it’s a case of: “Fuck off, film”
Some of my most favorite people talking together, its something special. Never thought these 2 would come together.
One of the things that infuriated and hurt my heart recently was a local gameshop I loved and went to religiously, openly ridiculing and cussing out (supposed to be a family friendly establishment) Bentkey and their work. They went on to essentially say everyone needs to accept trans and other sexual (and ADULT) issues or else they will be FORCED to. I want to have children someday and hearing this conversation at the table next to me by the owners of a business I frequented and imagined bringing my future kids into TERRIFIED me. The insane level of hatred and intolerance was nuts. I am so tired of everything being politicized into propaganda and force fed to CHILDREN. I loved and treasured my childhood and am so thankful it was like 90% free of premature exposure to explicit adult topics, themes, language, etc! And that is what I want my future kids to experience, a carefree childhood as much as within my power! I am so grateful for companies like Bentkey and Daily Wire making creative content that gives me hope that I can sit down to a movie or show and just breathe a sigh of relief and be given a mental break from all the political vitriol consuming our culture right now. ❤

Honestly, watching drinker do interviews is a lot of fun. He's well spoken even when not reading off a script and the conversations and topics are conveyed and talked about in an engaging and fun manner.

Because he’s an actual person who knows how to interact with people like an adult. Unlike most media and celebrity “journalists” who are looking for confrontation or to stir controversy for clicks and views.

I’m completely crazy about the interview location-is that Drinker’s place???? Because he talks like he lives in some dank empty bottle-filled, Glaswegian bachelor flat. Or is this Shapiro’s place in South Florida? It’s just that the windows look like very late or early 19th century windows with really old school hardware. Where the heck are these two? A hotel in Edinburgh or Coral Gables?? Where are these two????
@@badmother7615 I would say it is drinker's place, and his usual recording area is in his basement/mancave. Shapiro has been in the UK recently, he was at one of the oxbridge hell-holes talking to students

Never understood why so many people dislike Ben. He's incredibly intelligent and easy going. He's also funny and a perfect role model. And he's willing to stand up for what he believes in.

@@NeanderthalNorthman Joe Rogan podcast, Ben says he believes that Jesus was a common criminal that was killed due to an attempt to invoke a rebellion. Ben follows Judaism which believes Jesus is not the son of God. He puts Judeo before Christian despite Christianity not being in link with Judaism, case and point Jesus Christ.
He writes articles in his past that decree the killing in foreign nations as justified to secure the existence of Israel and pushes that through to a primarily Christian audience in the United States. He proclaims that Muslims like to blow things up and live in open sewers while Jews are builders. He believes really abhorrent things while seeming reasonable.

What a crossover!! I’ve followed the daily wire for many years, and it gives me such a pleasure to support their films. I wouldn’t care what their politics are, I will always get behind any film studio that is dedicated to making great, blockbuster quality films with no political agenda or religious preaching at all. Just good film.
You don't care what their politics are but they indoctrinate you quietly with their ideals, through their media.
Another live action Snow White movie that I really liked was “Mirror Mirror” with Lily Collins and Julia Roberts. They made some plot changes, but the essence of the characters was the same and it was romantic and fun and one of my favorite movies ❤
I wasn't a big fan of the prince in mirror mirror. But otherwise I loved the movie

@@theoracle7175 Do you think that the Disney version will be much better? Any competition only has to be good enough to take away some of their rival's audience, which inevitably drives up the quality of products in that market over time.
Naive capitalist world view continuously disproven unless one looks away. Quality is just one possible attack vector, but the customers have to care about it, and enough to practice it in the system.
Competitiveness is fear and spawns a myriad of manifestations of it.

Some will struggle to comprehend that these two people might not agree on many other things, seeing them sit at a table talking about stuff like this. I hope they don’t try for too long and just equate Drinker and the movie to Shapiro in stead. Otherwise they may need to go to the ER for brain bleeds, poor sods.

I'm not expecting to convince you here, but I want to make this clear:
Drinker doesn't like Shapiro. He doesn't approve of many things Shapiro has said in the past. He doesn't agree with Shapiro. He agrees on this movie as long as it's not pushing Shapiro's political views. If Drinker was gay, trans, black, a woman, all of the above, the same should still apply in the context. Even if the subject was politics, the person who speaks from reason like an adult in stead of being annoying, purposefully provocative (like Shapiro often acts, yes), or angry, should be the one who comes out looking trustworthy in their opinions, because that's how it really does work. The people who speak from reason rather than emotion or malice, the people who can face the fact that others disagree with them without an outburst of hatred, and the person who don't need to impose their views by being loud is usually the one who's basing their opinions on reality in stead of their own tunnel-visioned wants. That doesn't even mean that everyone who's thinking healthily on a subject agrees on the subject, it means everyone who's thinking healthily on a subject understands that even thinking the exact opposite can often come from the same want to better the world, just based on different experiences.
In this case it's different though, what the original commenter is saying is that Drinker doesn't like all of Shapiro's political views, but they've both maturely agreed to keep the politics out of it. Read the description if you thought he agrees with Shapiro on everything outside of this movie. He doesn't. That's just not what this interview is about.

Eg if Shapiro went on his show every day and shat on the Critical Drinker every single day for multiple years, and had the actual power to influence society to not allow Critical Drinker to get married, to be in movies, to work in an office without being harassed, to not be able to buy food if the person selling him food didnt like his videos etc Do you think Drinker would be like laughing and smiling and promoting Shapiros new movie (that hasnt even come out yet... come on, maybe id buy he didnt support Shapiro if he waited to see it before promoting it)?
Also this movie is a political statement. Drinkers statements that its all about respecting the material is nonsense when Brett Cooper has said in the past she doesnt like disney princesses and wasnt allowed to watch cartoons as a child.

I honestly don't understand why Disney avoided casting Dwarf actors to play the most iconic Dwarves ever portrayed. In the original movie, they -- not the prince -- were the true heroes. They were successful business owners who owned their own home and they fought the Evil Queen to save Snow White.
From Jermey’s razors (inverse of Harry’s), Jeremy’s chocolate (inverse of Hershey’s), BentKey (inverse of Disney/Nickelodeon) daily wire is truly genius. All these companies that are pissing all over once societal norms are literally giving them multi million dollar business ideas without even trying. I have a Samsung phone. They took production out of China in 2017 as their technology was being stolen by Huawei.

I'm concerned with quality, because "not woke" is one thing, but my question is: is it _good?_
Because yeah, I'm tired of woke, same as most, but I'm also wary of a company who's bread and butter is political commentary first and foremost, and so even though they say they're making content without that stuff in it, it makes me wonder what they'll do without their bread and butter, because you take that away from them, then what do they have left?
I'm not about to shut them down completely, but I'm gonna need more info before I can say, "Ah yes, I can absolutely get behind this. 👌"
So yeah, for now, I'm skeptical, and that's all I'll say.
Yeah. It’s really impressive to have no original content but make a career out of simply saying the opposite of the opponent. America can stay equally stupid on both sides ensuring people like Candace Owens or talk show hosts remain employed.
I really hope Brett Coopers Snow White does well. We need more films and shows about entertainment and not pushing a political message all the time

Exactly. Movies used to be an escape from reality. These days politics is everywhere, you can't even watch a TV show without some political sub-plot trying to shame you into thinking one way against the other. I'd rather give my money to someone like Shapiro's team than to the toxicity of Disney.

The Disney Corporation has turned into a tribe of iconoclasts, pulling down any hero's or ideals once worshiped and constructing any idiotic piece of nonsense to take its place. @@BrandonsGarage Difference is the Russel Crowe interview was just a part of Crowe's press tour for The Pope's Exorcist, he did them on a bunch of other channels. It was almost certainly a part of his contract for the film. So unlike Crowe, Shapiro probably actually wanted to be here lol.
Its kind of nice seeing Ben happy. Relaxed, not being heckled and not heckling someone else. Actually makes him kinda likeable
He's a normal person outside of his job. Like you said in politics it's him and someone or group going after each other. Outside of that he's a dude who plays violin and pays for his neighbors cancer treatments 🤷♂️

Totally agree with Ben. I grew up as a Disney fan. My family lived in Orlando. I decorated my dorm room in Disney princesses. Now I refuse to buy anything Disney themed and won’t subscribe to Disney +. It hurts my heart to see how they have taken the magic out of our childhoods. Disney is no longer magical in their desperate attempt to depict their idea of realism. I don’t want my kids exposed to their nonsense. They get no money from my family any more, but Daily Wire will!

We need more conversations like this. I'm sure that Drinker and Shapiro disagree on quite a lot, but they're still able to talk to one another. I also appreciate that Shapiro wants to offer additional choices rather than replacing things he objects to with things he supports -- let folks decide, particularly let _parents_ decide what their kids are exposed to and when.

I will be showing the DW Snow White to my entire family, especially my grandkids. I want them to partake in a movie and cast of players that have morals. Brett will be a role model for millions of little girls from now until. I want that to be in my granddaughter's lives.
As a massive fan of Arthurian legend and Merlin in particular I'm looking forward to The Daily Wire's Arthurian movie. I loved BBC's Merlin, a light, family-friendly episodic romp.

I never thought in my life that I would ever see Drinker interview Ben Shapiro. We live in some sort of bizarro timeline.
Ben often does short movie reviews, and his take is sometimes very different than the Drinker's. I think they'd be a heck of a duo to replace Siskel & Ebert. And if I were ever going to make a movie, I'd absolutely run the script by the Drinker before the first scene was shot.
I like some of Ben's insights but strongly disagree with his movie takes and love CD's movie takes and I would LOVE to see this combo!

So glad you are in touch with the Daily Wire! Drinker, I really think that you and Andrew Klavan should have an interview. You are both thriller writers, and he is the loudest and most consistent voice at the Daily Wire arguing for the importance of story telling in culture. He had Ethan Van Skyver one time, and Van Skyver was kind of rude and filibustered the whole time, and I fear that that interview soured the Daily Wire on UA-cam culture commentators. I think that you and Klavan would have a lot to discuss, and I would love to hear it. Please consider trying to make it happen!

They could be switching it up with Wish. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they depict this "empowered female" character granting everyone's wishes as being disastrous.
I think a lot of people still don't realize that they did this with Frozen. Elsa abandons her kingdom to go do what she wants and be a "strong independent woman" and it seems like they're presenting that as a positive message at first. But then her sister points out that her entire kingdom is literally about to be wiped out due to her (Elsa's) selfishness, so she comes back, takes up her crown, and reengages with her responsibilities, even though it's not exactly what she wants. I could see them doing this with Wish.
Uhh I don't know what Frozen movie you saw there buddy but she did not "come back". Infact she never planned to and she literally threw her sister out of her castle after accidentally hurting her.
She was dragged back unconscious and only stayed because she was no longer afraid of herself. But even that didn't last because in the sequel she got to be free like she originally wanted, leaving her sister behind to rule the kingdom as she frolicked around with magical creatures forever.
I'm happy that she did and I love her character. Don't say what isn't true.

Ben's take on the 'movie star' is spot on, and the example he gave of Tom Cruise is so accurate. Along those lines, Christopher Lloyd is the ideal movie star. He's talented, he can play a variety of roles, and he apparently vanishes like Zorro until he's needed to do his job again. And the best part is that he gets to keep his private life private and we can admire the hell out of him for his mad skills. Same with Val Kilmer who really is an amazing actor too who is barely heard from until he is in another project. Or he has bad health news come out.
Here's hoping Daily Wire/Bentkey can provide the entertainment that people want instead of the current "entertainment" complex force feeding us twisted immorality plays and ordering us to be happy about it.
She's all they got so let's hope she's not just a pretty face doing podcasts lol... Not sure why they can't use outside talent except for the way they write contracts for those who work for them as made evident by the way they treated Crowder.

I hope they can do this movie right. They have to know there will be tremendous pressure. If they can nail the acting then there will be hope. One of the issues I had with say "Terror on the Prairie" was the acting was pretty bad. You have to nail the acting above all else. Acting, then story because acting sells the story.
