When we purchased a home 6 six years ago in Florida we bought the furniture down there. We recently sold the home and the buyer bought all our furniture and furnishings. It was a blessing we didn’t have to move anything. The new owners are renting our old home as an Airbnb.
Hi Linda and Jerry. We were on our lifestyle stay last week at The Villages. My husband and I made our way throughout TV to see as much as we could. We loved Fenney and Lake Sumter Landing as well as the Eisenhower Recreation Center and many other attractions. We did not enjoy navigating the roundabouts and we spent a lot of time getting lost. The scenery was beautiful and watching the residents driving their golf cars was amusing. The disappointment came as we looked at homes in DeLuna. The homes were very small, expensive, cheap design and style, and not appealing to us. Our realtor was very aggressive and we actually had to tell her to stop pressuring us to buy a home. We did not enjoy the extreme heat and after a week at TV, we decided to say goodbye to TV. We thank you for sharing your life on UA-cam and we wish you all God’s blessings. I will continue to watch your show because it’s fun to watch. ❤️
@@JERRYANDLINDA yes, Jerry and Linda we hate it that we were pressured too. I kept telling my husband that Jerry and Linda weren’t pressured. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. We were so disappointed because we did our due diligence to be prepared for TV. We even wore our Jerry and Linda shirts just in case we saw you. Don’t be sad for us. The Lord always opens another door. I looked for your neighborhood but we kept getting lost in the roundabouts. 🙄

When we move to Florida, we will hire movers, but I have a pickup truck with a cap. I’m going to load the truck up with stuff we want right away, like our kitchenware, pots, pans, plates, cups, etc. as well as clothes and other stuff. Then my wife and will drive from Syracuse to Lorton VA, board the auto train, where they will load our truck on the train around noon time. At 8:00am the next morning, we will be in Sanford FL, about an hour and change from The Villages 👍🏼

Really loved the show today. Most of it was so funny!! Jerry's choking was not, but Linda's karate kick to the gut was🤭. The "cookie talk" was funny, as we have all had similar situations that left us 😲!! Enjoyed it all very much, guys. Thanks for the smiles.🤩
They got to watch out golf is a addiction I was a base player 31 years. I went to Maui, Hawaii with some friend and I played tennis, my friend was a tennis also a golfer and one day are wives wanted to go shopping witch I didn’t want to do. My friend said why don’t you come and play golf with me I said I’ve never played before he said the rent clubs and shoes so we went played Kampala golf course that wasn’t the course you should start. I shot 131 witch is not good but I 4 good shots went home bought some used clubs now it been 31 years since and still playing. Thank you Jerry & Linda for giving me a great start to Monday.
We say move your furniture If you have good furniture, TVs, etc bring - why wouldn't you? That reduces the stress finding new ones. We also believe it is good to come back to stay a second time, and in a different neighborhood. That way you really know if you want to move and where. Love your videos!
I wanted to cry when I heard about your cookies and the lady made a big fuss about it. I knew when I took a pot luck to the hospital and I brought a empty dish home I knew I did ok. I also brought a few still full home. It hurts for a moment but my dogs liked eating what the people didn’t at the pot luck. I laughed so hard on the kick to the stomach. But when he looked like he was choking and turning red I thought it was real until the kick.
Linda, that was very patient and kind of you, to handle the "banana debacle" lady that way. I believe you, that foremost in your mind was to not embarrass her. Sometimes peoples' "filters" are off. It was kind of you to give her the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure the cookies were delicious!!

I went to two Dunkin’ Donuts yesterday to get my ground coffee. Neither were able to have their doors open due to understaffing. Only the drive-through was open.

Good thing about the internet is that you can check reviews on various moving companies... I had some good ones and some really bad ones... broken kitchen chairs...things missing... so Reviews help you find the better ones...
When I was a kid my grandmother told me if I was choking "hit" my stomach on the back of a chair. If that didn't work, belly flop on the floor. Sometime later I was having pizza with my sister and cousin & started choking. The waiter tried hitting me on the back, which did nothing. So I threw myself against the back of the chair. That did nothing too. Finally after two or three belly flops it pushed the food out. Without my grandmother's advice I would have choked to death. I've taught this to my kids, to Girl Scouts, and to anyone else who would listen. If anyone thinks this is helpful, please pass it on!
I always have a "laugh out loud moment" whenever I watch your videos but the "Meatloaf Incident" was the best......And when at the end, you and Linda just stared at the camera and right on cue, Gizmo let out a groan!! Here in the UK roundabouts are very common and there are few incidents if you follow a few simple rules. Firstly always make you intention clear and indicate when you approach the exit you wish to leave. Avoid going around next to another vehicle where possible as many people have poor lane disciplne and cut across lanes without realising, so hang back. Assume everyone else may do something unexpected like cut across your lane or suddenly realise they need to leave at the next exit, so be alert. Finally keep your speed down as many travel too fast around roundabouts and the weaving traffic can catch you and others out otherwise. Actually a good way for traffic to negotiate junctions and doing it safely becomes second nature. Good show, very interesting and fun as usual. Steve

Great show as always… I think you’re right I do think the owners do care about the Village’s is it a profit for them? Yes but any business is and the Villages is a business I’m all actuality. My friend who lives up by the northern part of the Villages says they don’t get the afternoon showers but she naps quite often in the afternoon I bet she misses them at times lol

I had a similar incident eating watermelon. All of a sudden a piece went down my windpipe and I couldn't breathe. I knew if I inhaled it would go in my lungs and I barely had enough strength to push what little air I had left in me. Needless to say I was coughing and gagging for several minutes. That was terrifying to say the least... Glad your "episode" wasn't real and did make me laugh out loud along with your bloopers. 🤎🧡💛💚💙💜❤️

Then again, if the lady that spit out your cookies watches your show, she will know they were yours, Uh Oh! 😮 I had to go to emergency 3 times to The Villages Hosppital and had excellent care all 3 times. I'm sure they are proud of what their Family has created and want to see it thrive. The first time I came for the "Lifestyle" stay ( 7 days), I knew in an instant that this was the place for me. Woo! Even though I find the choking reenactment hilarious, I am sure it was a scary situation. Here in our neighborhood in Flagstaff, AZ, 2.8 inches of rain fell overhead in an hour. Yikes. Thankfully we are not in a flood area and higher elevation. Linda, I might have just left the plate of cookies to keep my secret. You just couldn't escape the "victim".
You two are great actors! Loved your meatloaf re-enactment! We live next door to The Villages in Pennbrooke Fairways on 44. We bought our house 9 years ago for about $150,000. We are on a pond and the 9th hole of a golf course. If we had bought in The Villages, we would have paid double that for the same size house, pond, and golf course. However, we cannot go shopping in our golf cart. I love Gizmo❣️

I especially loved seeing the clouds I absolutely love weather - luv it just before a storm is about to roll in- but not a real big fan of the actual storm itself if that makes sense😂 You both are such an inspiration for anyone just how you have run your life’s and now your enjoying the fruits of your labor and sacrifice.
Great video! Love your content. Jerry, chew your food 30 times before attempting to swallow, lol. I made Linda's candy meatloaf the other day and it was so good. I tend to choke on food too so I have learned to always try to eat food with additional moisture in it or a sauce. For the meatloaf, I coat it in a little bit of Linda's meatloaf topping, delicious! Thanks Linda and Jerry!
The people looking for something smaller might look into Patio Villas. I believe that's what they are called. Smaller but the only problems we had with it was it was connected to another unit like a duplex, if I remember. You had to share a gate and fence to cut lawn or paint house, etc. Plus the maneuvering into a garage was sort of difficult. If you have a huge SUV forget it. Best thing: practically NO front yard and small back yard. The one we looked at had a small palm tree in the front for the Florida look and rocks to fill in the area around the palm tree and a teeny postage stamp amount of green grass. Could cut that area with a weed whacker. That was many years ago in Spanish Springs. They might not offer patio villas anymore.

Not only is furniture expensive you also have to wait. We order furniture for our lanai, had to wait 6 months for it to be delivered

Everyone makes a bad recipe at some point. Mine was homemade jellied cranberry sauce that turned out to be a very firm doorstop! Yikes!!!!

Great show as always… I think you’re right I do think the owners do care about the Village’s is it a profit for them? Yes but any business is and the Villages is a business I’m all actuality. My friend who lives up by the northern part of the Villages says they don’t get the afternoon showers but she naps quite often in the afternoon I bet she misses them at times lol

I had a similar incident eating watermelon. All of a sudden a piece went down my windpipe and I couldn't breathe. I knew if I inhaled it would go in my lungs and I barely had enough strength to push what little air I had left in me. Needless to say I was coughing and gagging for several minutes. That was terrifying to say the least... Glad your "episode" wasn't real and did make me laugh out loud along with your bloopers. 🤎🧡💛💚💙💜❤️
Aaaaw Linda, that was funny, but at the same time I felt bad for you! Then again, if the lady that spit out your cookies watches your show, she will know they were yours, Uh Oh! 😮 I had to go to emergency 3 times to The Villages Hosppital and had excellent care all 3 times. I have no complaints. I love the bloopers! They really are fun to watch! I agree with you whole heartedly about the developers. I'm sure they are proud of what their Family has created and want to see it thrive. The first time I came for the "Lifestyle" stay ( 7 days), I knew in an instant that this was the place for me. Woo! Even though I find the choking reenactment hilarious, I am sure it was a scary situation. Here in our neighborhood in Flagstaff, AZ, 2.8 inches of rain fell overhead in an hour. Yikes. Thankfully we are not in a flood area and higher elevation. Linda, I might have just left the plate of cookies to keep my secret. You just couldn't escape the "victim".

You two are great actors! Loved your meatloaf re-enactment! We live next door to The Villages in Pennbrooke Fairways on 44. We bought our house 9 years ago for about $150,000. We are on a pond and the 9th hole of a golf course. If we had bought in The Villages, we would have paid double that for the same size house, pond, and golf course. However, we cannot go shopping in our golf cart. I love Gizmo❣️

Great video! Love your content. Jerry, chew your food 30 times before attempting to swallow, lol. I made Linda's candy meatloaf the other day and it was so good. I tend to choke on food too so I have learned to always try to eat food with additional moisture in it or a sauce. For the meatloaf, I coat it in a little bit of Linda's meatloaf topping, delicious! Thanks Linda and Jerry!

The people looking for something smaller might look into Patio Villas. I believe that's what they are called. Smaller but the only problems we had with it was it was connected to another unit like a duplex, if I remember. You had to share a gate and fence to cut lawn or paint house, etc. Plus the maneuvering into a garage was sort of difficult. If you have a huge SUV forget it. Best thing: practically NO front yard and small back yard. The one we looked at had a small palm tree in the front for the Florida look and rocks to fill in the area around the palm tree and a teeny postage stamp amount of green grass. Could cut that area with a weed whacker. That was many years ago in Spanish Springs. They might not offer patio villas anymore.

I have to say, I probably would have had the same reaction as the lady. I have a HUGE gag reflex with bananas. Not sure where it comes from, but I can’t even smell them without feeling “Urpy.” So Linda, I’m sure it wasn’t your cooking, it was someone like me who just hates bananas. :)
