Yeah but there are so many differant products. Universal cream, shoe cream, conditioner, surfine... it took me awhile to find the right product. What do you use for a conditioner cream?
nice...and for the white soles (edges anyway..) you can mix isopropyl alcohol with water and it comes up clean by rubbing with with a cloth...i've heard you can also use toothpaste, but never tried that myself..
I don't have isoproponal alcohol, I wonder if whiskey would work... good tip though, I'm going to try the toothpaste thing. I have toothpaste... Thanks for the comment!
Reminds me of the saddle soap I used to keep my baseball glove in good shape!! This is good to know for my dress shoes. I usually just wipe them down with wet paper towel lol!
Yeah whatever happened to saddle soap, I haven't seen that stuff for years? If you're coming from paper towel and water you can skip the brushes and just use some product and a rag. Keep it simple !
I am a bit of a vintage brush collector; however I have a three brush system. One for black, one for brown, and a large third one I use on both as a dust brush after a day's wearing. I keep the third brush by the door. I use Saphir products for dress shoes but use cheaper Fiebing's Saddle Soap and Kiwi or Lincoln polish for things like Iron Rangers and combat boots. I also have LP but it tends to make it more onto my gloves than boots.
I’ve been using saddle soap if my shoes or boots are dirty before conditioning. I agree that’s all you need for most of the time. I’ve added coloring paste to an older pair of leather shoes to put back some color into to scuffs and scratches (beater shoes)! Did the same to a nice pair of leather gloves then conditioned with saphir. Both came out nice and now I’m in charge of leather care in general ‘chez moi’.
All you need is just leather conditioner to prevent it from drying. Everything else is a bonus.

Great system. I just like to keep it as simple as possible

Nice, you're the leather guy. Sounds like you've got it down without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
