Hey, thanks for you and your brother's awesome videos and guides! I am preparing for my K swap on my GD3 and was wondering about the ECU VIN and immobilizer process. I know how to rekey the immobilizer, but do you also update the ECU to reflect the Fit VIN? Will a TSX ECU balk at a different chassis VIN or just accept it and be happy?
Thanks!! We use the tsx ecu. we just connect the scan tool and it will see it’s a tsx ecu. and pick that we are reprogramming the ecu as if we put a new one in. Once you go through reprogramming the ecu it also resets the immobilizer and your all set. The car is set up as a tsx now
@@adamclemmons1193 when you connect the scan tool it will show that you are connected to a tsx ecu. I don’t remember if it shows the vin or not. But it thinks your working in a tsx
@@KevronsEye cool deal. I know some cars will throw a code if it detects a vin mismatch. I don’t know how it can tell unless it pulls it from another module. At any rate, I appreciate the insight! :)
Hey Kevin just want say your awesome man, I do have a question did u use the same harness wire from the K series engine it's self and what yr of K engine is that?
Well, my wife has a fit and so I was thinking about saving a few on a donor car for this process by using it when we get her a new car in the future but hers is a smidge different. She has a gen 1 sport (auto trans with flappy paddles) will that matter for this process if I want to keep and use the original transmission and flappy paddles?
You can not use the transmission you have now. It’s a different bolt pattern. Also the automatic Honda fits have a different engine/transmission mount abs the swap mounts will not work. This swap o my works on factory stick shift honda fits
@@KevronsEye Thanks, I've only recently started looking into this as I decided my budget needed to be lower than it was looking like it might be for my "fun" car. You can totally build the auto Fit. First thing I would do is add a transmission cooler. Then I would decide what The purpose of the car will be intended for. really a fantastic job, I also want to do it, I saw that on the hasport site there is no longer the pdf for the top mount assembly, do you have it available? I'm waiting for the next video!
