      I’d do some research on how hormones get disrupted. It sounds scary I know, but I have a degree in medicinal chemistry and majority of your hormones are produced in your brain. Should the molecule even manage to get in your bloodstream or interact with your system through the makeup, your brain has an extra special barrier that makes it so hard for molecules to get through. That’s why medicines for neurological, cancers, and mental illnesses are complex. I would just like, breathe about it.

    So I think you should not be to concerned about the Homosalate, so if you read the studies about it Homosalate needs to be eaten in in huge amounts to have an effect on tho hormones and I don't think anybody is going to do that. About the unstable thesis: Homosalate needs to be put in a formula working with other ingredients so it's going to be stable otherwise it wouldn't pass the SPF testing 😉 In Canada it's only not allowed as an SPF ingredient but it's not baned completely. So everybody who is reading this: no worries about the Homosalate 😅

    I ADORE this tinted moisturizer! weird ingredient and all. I have sensitive skin that goes super oily when triggered, which most face products do or they cling to my textured skin and amplify every skin oddity that I have, but not this fabulousness AND they have a shade match for me which is very rare for my very fair cool toned skin . In the week I've worn it, I've recieved so many compliments. Thank you for the info about oil removal, I didn't know that!

    I honestly prefer that these products just leave SPF out, especially since my it cosmetics cc cream trauma 💀they either have questionable ingredients, not enough protection, or make dark skin look PURPLE/grey so the products unusable. I get the concept and spf is important but a separate spf works best for me

      I can't wear sunblock it makes my skin red and burn, makes my skin tone have a weird gray cast on my brown skin and can't put makeup over it bc sunblock makes foundation slide off my face. Please leave these weird chemicals out of skin care. I don't want weird dangerous chemicals on my face or skin!! No more sunblock, weird scents, hormone replacement. Definitely not a natural product not really trying anymore for natural rare beauty.

    I wouldn't be too concerned around the hormone disruptor as Tofu is considered that but you'd need to literally eat tofu in such abundance that its nearly impossible to actually have your hormones disrupted. I just picked it up in Canada and so if it were considered toxic here by our standards they couldn't sell it here :) Wear on!! haha

    I reallllllllly appreciate how your thumbnails are not clickbait👍. I personally do not use chemical sunscreens. Especially with the mixing chemical and mineral together recent controversy . It says it may cause them to be less effective against harmful UV rays. There are so many brands that mix sunscreens in products. I've leaning more towards face ones that don't have any and I use my own sunscreen.

      There are a lot of other sunscreens in the US that have homosalate, many times at a higher percent. Also, if you look up the toxicity of the ingredient there are no animal based studies that show endocrine disruption. The only studies that show this have been on cells.

    • @steffiru8067
      @steffiru8067 2 роки тому

      I encourage you to read the whole studies about Homosalate. It only effects hormones if you would eat it in large amounts 😉

  • @MShaiqable
    @MShaiqable 10 місяців тому +1

    Homosalate isn't a hormone disruptor unless you're planning on eating it in large amounts. It's commonly found in American sunscreens and products offering SPF. The EU, Canada, and Australia have stricter requirements for what can and cannot be marketed as a sunscreen compared to the US, and they are using newer chemicals in their products that nobody wants to pay the FDA to approve for the US market so Octocrylene and Homosalate is what the US is stuck with in terms of approved SPF. Would a better, newer chemical be a better idea? Yes. But then Rare Beauty wouldn't be able to market it as containing SPF in the US, their home market.

    Yesss y’all the Queen Maryam has spoken! I have literally been waiting for u to try this out. That ingredient is scary af! And i have MS, i don’t need anything possibly triggering my already sensitive skin… it’s like ehh 9% is technically safe but dang. Now wear time i too have oily skin, in my eyes fenty skin tint is my fave followed by the kosas one as well… at least with kosas i know it’s a face oil with a tint… but i need sum’n that’s gna hold me all day. This product is a bummer. They almost had me at spf… but that one ingredient Thanku for telling us about that! Legit nobody else has or then didn’t care enough too… 💕💗

    I tried a sample of this product and was really pumped about it, I have dry skin so this worked really nice for me, not too much oils coming through. However, I didn't know anything about the homosalate! Hormone disruptor and toxic are really worrying in my opinion. Now I am torn. I might have to pass on it. Thank you for bringing this up in your video. I wouldn't have known.

      Realizing just now that it's in supergoop's unseen sunscreen too, also in Laura merrier's newest luminous tinted moisturizer has 5% homosalate. I am going to be careful from now on. It's an endocrine disruptor and only 1.4% is safe to have apparently.

    All of the notes in the first 2 minutes got me like😬😬I'll pass! Oddly enough I just bought their concealer and I love it, but I'm going to have to do some more research on it apparently.

    How do PR companies know what shades to send you?

    • @MaryamMaquillage

      PR companies have lists, brands probably base it on other products, for example my shade in the Rare Foundation

    love when makeup gurus try to talk about sunscreen.. just talk to the real professionals-dermatologists! or if you're into reading good quality (i.e NOT google) research

    I don't why they added this controversial ingredient.. It is not even gonna Provide the SPF 20 that is labled unless you use a ton of it that will end up looking cakey.. So there is no actual point to this ingredient being here other than for marketing purposes!

    • @samp9581
      @samp9581 2 роки тому

      Because they starting making the product probably over a year ago before the new research came out this year from the uk. Also most older research considers it safe and it is a widely used sunscreen ingredient

    Thank the makeup gods someone finally mentioned the sketchy ingredient in this product. NO ONE IS MENTIONING IT, and I'm so worried for them and their skin lolololol. Because a lot of peoples skin will have a reaction to this ingredient....and most consumers probably don't even realize it's in there. 🤯

    My skin is normal to dry and it clung to dry patches that don’t show on any other foundation. I like how it feels and looks but shade 30 warm was SO yellow. Had to return it!
