just gotta pause the video a third of the way in and give a shout to what a hero that indian doctor is. That is a hero right there, putting in over 18 hours a day, helping person after person, and getting no credit. Man, so inspiring!

I for the first time saw some older vlogs when Louis was with Sam... Well it's GREAT to see how he isn't just squandering his platform by hanging out playing Minecraft and going to clubs. He is truly MAKING something of his life and his channel... It's refreshing to see a UA-camr who isn't all about themselves..... Bravo!

I really love what both Dave and Louis repeatedly mentioned throughout the video: love and pure joy seem to radiate even more in the places that have the least when it comes to accommodations and opportunities. Last month I went with a group from my school to go on a mission trip in a pretty small village in the Dominican Republic, and we all came back completely different people (I think). It does that to you. Everyone in the village was unbelievably generous and happy and strong in their faiths even though they were lacking medicine, food, work, etc. If/when you guys get the chance, definitely go somewhere like that. India, the Dominican, Haiti, etc. It's amazing.

Dave did a great job vlogging at the hospital! I wish they had better supplies there. The doctor seemed extremely committed and passionate. That is wonderful to see. A lot of doctors I've been to in the US seem mad and like they hate their jobs. I'd love to see someone as passionate as him having all the supplies they needed to provide even better care.

I just find your vlogs so important. Especially the solvey project that you are working on with Dave. My capstone for my graduate degree is water infrastructure. Having spent hours reading and analyzing the problem of pollution of the local water ways in cities like New Delhi, I believe this is one of the most pressing issues we should be focusing on. Everyone should have clean drinking water and the fact that you witnessed the main pollutant (defecating near water ways- thus polluting the water) shows that it is an everyday occurrence. Something needs to be done to stop the spread of pollutants, update infrastructure and educate the citizens.
I really hope that you continue to pursue this solvey initiative. I think it could do some good.

I loved watching this and I miss India so much!! I visited a couple of slums in Bangalore and Dharavi in Mumbai and at least in Bangalore, they will have toilets but they often have to pay to use them. And obviously they rarely have the money to pay, so they will use the streets yeah. Visiting a slum is such an intense experience like you said, there's such a community feel and it's really incredible to see the humanity and community in people when they're in such a terrible poverty-stricken situation.
Love it when you and Dave travel together!

Awesome Louis. I'm also a British guy who goes to developing countries to film vlogs quite often, and it's so great to see you are so open minded. It sucks when I meet foreigners who come to these types of places who moan and complain all the time because things aren't as they are "back home" - it's only open minded people like you who can go to places like India and make a meaningful contribution. The moaners should stay home if they can't accept cultures that are different to their own. Awesome work!

I wish these beautiful Indian people had the opportunities we get over here. I think most of us take the education system for granted because it's essentially handed to us on a plate. It really puts it into perspective. The saying " you don't know what you have until it's taking away" comes into mind. The light and selflessness of these Indians hearts are truly amazing, thank you Louie for always spreading a hugely positive image of all people in all your videos. Your love for people and the world is truly amazing and through your videos we all feel we get the experience that equally.

    "Think global, act local".
Louis and Dave, it would be interesting to look at the places you are visiting independent from the whole country, for example, rather than asking communities what is one thing that you could change about your country into what is one thing you could change to your city/community?
I can't help but think more than only a few solutions can help reduce these social and economic inequalities to the specific community you are visiting, let alone a country. Plus, New Delhi experiences high rates of urbanization growth so possibly looking at why they live like this and who determines their livelihoods could give some perspective to some solutions.
I am keeping up to date with this project, it's interesting to see what impacts Louis and Dave leave on the communities they've visited. Fingers are crossed that these global ventures have a local impact.

    • @lizmurphy-may1107
      @lizmurphy-may1107 8 років тому

There are many reasons why the majority of the population there experience poverty. It's not a natural occurrence and it didn't vanish from thin air. It's a man-made system:- neoliberal capitalism. Yeah sure, Delhi is a rich city but that's only in terms of the cities gross domestic product, which doesn't accumulate who gets the majority of the wealth. The patterns of poverty become cyclical trough the process of neoliberalism and whilst it boasts that wealth will trickle down from the rich to the poor, it has proven ineffective after almost 40 years.
The world is full of exploitation and o think it's great that this channel is starting to show the reality of minorities who suffer from poverty however all I am suggesting is to think about (even research) why the particular areas are the way they are rather than going in and just fixing it all. I'm sure the last thing the Solvey Project want to achieve is another post colonial approach to fixing the world.

It's so great to see you guys in Delhi! I had the opportunity to go last year and see a school built within a slum under a busy road bridge. I'm making a documentary about it now but struggling! This vlog has really just given me an extra push to complete the film, it's so important to share their stories. It also made me want to go back so bad!! So much to see there. You and Dave a real role models for me, you approach everything in a very good way - I'd love to work with you guys one time. :)

Bob Marley taught me how to love the world. Louis Cole taught me how to make the world better. Maybe it's something about the dreadlocks :)

I'm not sure I totally understood what the teachers said, but I think they said that education is the most important thing that needs to be better in India. I'm all for that, but for students to be able to go to school they need proper housing, hygiene and health procedures, and electricity to study at night. Basic infrastructure needs to improve for kids to get the most out of education.
