"I AM NOT THAT PERSON ANYMORE!" Probably the best line and quote from sasha of this special. She is showing darcy who she really is and that's a change person.
this comment is like saying "i ate a burger" "Probably the best line and quote from joe of this special. He is showing john who he really is and that's the burger was eaten."
A definite triumph to Sasha's character arc in amphibia. Going from a selfish, rebellious manipulative girl who used her leadership qualities to take control of situations in her favor, into a strong capable leader who wants to be a better person and a better friend. Having Sasha face off against Darcy was a good way to round out her character arc. To have Sasha try to save Marcy (someone who is a friend that Sasha took for granted and had a hard time forgiving for bringing them all to amphibia but still cared for enough to try to make things right), while defeating Darcy (the literal embodiment of the corruption in amphibia) with help from Grime (someone that Sasha has positively influenced). Sasha definitely wasn't the same person she was before she came to amphibia.
three reasons why "other friends" would work while playing over the scene: 1. Darcy and Sasha connect to anne, saying that they have other friends 2. Darcy has a scythe 3. the song slaps
Man, I don't even watch Amphibia, but this moment really feels like it sells her growth as a character even on its own. The music, the animation, and ESPECIALLY the voice acting all sell it. Seriously, Sasha sounds so determined and sure of who she's become. Never forget kids, voice acting is an art as well, that elevates a scene just as well as anything else.
The animation when the camera is spinning around her is so good! Most of the animation In this episode is fantastic but this one in particular stood out to me.
Smart instead of going for the body which could kill Marcy she went for the cord attached to the head but what if the core is alive in Marcy’s head severing the connection could just have the core trapped in Marcy’s head.
If you watch the rest of the episode, you will see this is clearly not the case. Instead, the core morphed a set of legs and waltzed out. Marcy came back, apologized to Anne and Sasha for everything and is with them once again. The ending of this episode clearly references Majora's Mask.
@@DesertRainReads Think they were just speaking in hypotheticals, like “clearly” that was the the move to do, but _what if_ it had not worked like it did and instead locked the ‘core’ into Marcy rather than freed her from it(?).
This line literally made me burst out into tears. Idk why but- it hit really hard. Marcy/Darcy has always been my favourite but Sasha may objectively be the BEST- her development is so wonderful
Called it, I knew Matt Braly wouldn't dare kill off Marcy. Fantastic episode all around, one that ended on a cliffhanger with that reference to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, I have a feeling it's going to be a redemption of sorts for Andrias as well, akin to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. He's going to do the right thing and go down as a villain who redeemed himself in the end. This is a well written cartoon with a believable story arc, likeable characters who were not Mary Sue's, the plot doesn't drag on and on for thousands of unnecessary filler episodes unlike certain Anime (One Piece, Naruto, InuYasha all come to mind), and I have a feeling "The Hardest Thing" is going to be quite satisfying to watch and bring the series to an excellent conclusion. I have a hunch we will see a sequel to Amphibia some years later when the story of Anne, Marcy and Sasha and the rest of the characters becomes a legend. Return to Amphibia anyone?
I adore that unlike so many animated shots of sword fights, if you watch that slash, it goes exactly where it would logically cut. No lunging past the enemy nonsensically, no weird slash across the chest suddenly gushing blood, Sasha's sword goes where the cut is.
Sasha's character development is awesome her character development remembered me Amity Blight's character development because both were bullies before but they had an huge character development and became so close with the main characters
