Xylazine(X)+Ketamine (K)protocol: Best Protocol
Why?
1)Complement actions like Visceral Analgesia (X)+ Somatic Analgesia (K)
2)Negate each others side effects like :
a) Muscular Relaxation (X) negate muscular rigidity produced by Ketamine (K)
b)Tachycardia (X) negate Bradycardial effect (K) by producing overall effect slight tachycardia
c) Hypotension /decrease BP negate increased Arterial Blood pressure (K)
& as compared to combination with diazepam which can only be administered via intravenously creating difficulties while dealing with wild animals , (X)+(K)can be administered both via I/M & I/V making suitable for administration for wide range of animals including wildlife
