The Cup is a funny ol' race. A horse from QLD with very poor form and a jockey with a 6% recent win rate and a dream, somehow pull it off. Full credit to Robbie Dolan.
Bullshit the horse was all guts, she faded late due to having run 1600m on saturday. You could make the argument she wasn't 'pushed' in that race, but it's still a race. If she was rested, and came into the cup fresh...I would've been laughing with $26 win $7 place odds.
@@bgardiner3354 Gidday, BG. Great to hear from you. I decided to refrain from betting for the first time ever this year. I just couldn't warm to anything. I thought Vauban was the best pick, but watched a rerun of last year and went off him. Okita Soushi was certainly well bred for it and form has been very good. As you know, I do the dosages for the Cup. That final 400m finds them out, and OS has a great dosage profile. Not a vintage year by any stretch, but they did go around in 3m 19+ (Good 4). The winner was Aussie bred, from a sprinter and a bush mare. OS was bred in the Emerald Isle from an Aussie mare, and Zardozi (4th) was Aussie bred. The Breeders Turf Sprint was won by an Aussie sire standing in Ireland! Not a bad weekend for our breeders, BG.
@@SvendBosanvovski Good to hear you're still getting amongst it. I was on OS... I was hoping for some lady luck... I think he ran a great race up on the speed... was just not quite sharp enough at the business end. Knight's Order on dosage shouldn't have stayed... so good to Sheila Laxon win another one... it should have been an omen bet for me. What figure do you think the IFHA will give Via Sistina for her win in the Cox Plate? I understand the track played super-fast... nevertheless her time was unbelievable. No doubt you've seen the sectionals from the race... looking forward to seeing her in the Champion Stakes... Did you see Storm Boy is going to Ballydoyle?
Its a funny race for them to target with these horses. Vauban looked like he might drop dead when trying to keep up with 'KYPRIOS' last start that extra 300m to 400m full tilt gets him. He's a better hurdler over slower speeds. I backed 'Mostly Cloudy' at $150 so right price group wrong bolter 😅
@@robertmartin7594 Didn't know they were in this year 😅 Specificly Vauban. Absurde was ok again, just. Neither a winning threat this year or next year if they come back for a 3rd go.

Never listen to the experts
I know. I picked the winner
Second horse looked a bit unlucky!
Honestly backed 2nd, 3rd and 4th. End up with nothing back haha. Ouch
Animals don't tell humans what they feel on the day..
Why are you only here one day of the year what about all the other races mate.. go protest all year around it you’re gonna cry
I had fixed odds bet of 151. I only put $1 eachway. Wish I put more on. Can't complain Im still happy.
A perfect ride by Arteni on Zardozi.
The horse wasn't up to 3200m.
Lost a 100 bucks
Yeah had the ideal trip... just didn't quite see it out

❤KNIGHT CHOICE ❤ PERFECT HORSE FOR MELBOURNE CUP 2024 ❤+
Which is why you dont bet Melbourne Cup
Superb weaving run by RDolan...
Okita Soushi we almost had it😔
Is it just me, or was the Channel 9 coverage seriously lacking?
Yeah... just seems to be missing something... did you have a bet Svend? I was on Okita Soushi... battled on a bit one paced.

No you are a Wanker
How good was the run of Land Legend? Pulled for the first 2000m in the breeze but still held on to be beaten only a few lengths.
My mums horses name was knighted or night and we won a. Got 25$
Anyone got a race time? And don’t tell me it was at 3pm
Absurde very unlucky
Held up then had to try move around zardozi
Clearer run reckon he would’ve had it
Was never going to win mate
@ eyes don’t work??
Held up by fading Just Fine
Was still coming then had to move to get around zardozi… you didn’t see that?
Bookmakers don't pay out on hard luck stories fella
@ unfortunately not! Was kinda just saying though. Like my thoughts. Isn’t that what the “comment” section is for
Talk about simpletons 🤣🤣
Waste of $100 on Vauban.
Editing. Never saw my horse in the running.
Borrrring. Best race win was Might and Power.
Vauban what a fail. That UK form overrated yet again.

Absurde🤦♂️
Sea King lost the race at the gate. Poor start, never in it. Warp Speed eachway means walked away with a little profit.
He flops out every start in small fields. Big field and 1st time 2 miles.
