So Nice that Henry Cavill shows his love for dinosaurs on UA-cam...

I've learnt so much from your videos. Thank you so much. Adding and bringing up to date the knowledge that for me, started in childhood. I'm now seventy.

My friend, it started just as much for me in childhood and I’m sure I’ll need updating often considering the speed of progress in this science! So glad you enjoy the content 😊

I always thinks it’s funny to find old 19th Century geology books breaking down the time periods into post diluvian and pre diluvian periods. lol 😂

I could handle the UA-cam ads that pop up if they were intelligent - but after seeing a woman who can't poop and needs it surgically removed and a coffee that supposedly makes another lose 61 pounds in a few weeks, I am most annoyed. Let's have a moment of silence for what was once a great platform of people posting content for each other, no ads required.

I have to be honest; seeing pre-historic humans hunting on the dry, open plains is kinda goofy; like seeing a cow grazing on the shoreline, or a polar bear roaming in the jungle.

Your idea of the GABI is based on the popular, but inaccurate (and racist/imperialist) idea: pretty much all the “inferior” South American groups that were supposedly outcompeted went extinct or were already on the way out BEFORE the GABI (which happened towards the end of the Pliocene, not during the Early Pliocene as once argued); the groups that weren’t already in decline (opossums, xenarthrans, etc) just kept on going.
North American animals took over not because they were “better” but because South America had been depauperated by climatic factors before they actually got there.
Outcompetition hypotheses in general (especially at the level of entire groups) in paleo are questionable, often because of timeline issues, and also often because they just assume one group was “superior” at a given niche without giving a reason (and if they do the reasons are cancelled out by disadvantages elsewhere or even outright fabricated most of the time). It’s really humans (a single species that, due to having technology like fire, were able to create their own advantage over other organisms rather than relying on evolution to do so) that buck the trend on this one by actually being able to outcompete other animals at such a large scale.

This happens all the time with invasive species , it's not necessarily that one group is superior or inferior but rather , different and not evolved alongside their new neighbors. That creates the issue , again , as we are currently witnessing literally all around the globe in many ecosystems. Sooooo

@@karna87777 You would hate my videos then, because I could care less about the quality of sound or video! I don’t claim to be an expert in either subject, nor am I a critic of either. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad video though, especially if you enjoy the subject matter. I get it, there’s always going to be the guy who says “was that filmed with a potato” or saying something about the sound quality, and that’s always going to be annoying to the average Joe. This guy is smart, witty and passionate about his subject matter, and that’s what counts at the end of the day.
Perhaps you should start a channel criticizing sound quality of various videos you don’t approve of, I’m sure that would be a GREAT success. I mean… I wouldn’t watch the channel, but I’d wish you luck… lol

Sometimes it gets so cold even in parts of the world like out here in the sticks of north carolina that it feels like we've never officially left the ice age. I know it got colder than negative 20 degrees centigrade in the ice age, but still. Its pretty cold these days.
