- I became more active on UA-cam since I moved to Japan, and I wanted to explain myself a little more and give some tips on traveling around Japan! I still don’t have much experience, and I am probably not qualified to give any advice lol. I did a lot of research before moving, and this is what helped me enjoy my stay.
Thank you for watching friends! 😊

i thought i was on netflix for a sec
😂me too!
How is it going so far
Right, I was sooo confused 😂😂😂😂
Very well done... and informative! Encouraging! Thanks!
This was VERY Helpful!!!
So happy to be of help!
Your channel is so underrated, i love your vlogs. And this travel tips video is super helpful for first time japan travelers!
I agree, totally underrated, good music choices, excellent tips, and presentation is very relaxing. I subbed right away.
thank you for your comment!!! this is so kind :)
@@Legpunch 😱 tyyyy I try to take my time with editing, even though I'm not very consistent! thanks for the sub
i'm shocked to hear seungmin's voice in the beginning of your video hahaha. great choice!
I'm a stay hehe, thank you!!
I'm moving to Tokyo too😊,
thank you. 😊
So cool! Good luck 👍 what will you be doing there?
Great apartment tip, thanks
thanks for watching ;)
Japan looks like such a nice place to live. Id love seeing that view you showed on the train every morning. Whenever i take public transportation in the city i live in, i get harassed by homeless people 😭. I think my personality and values would fit better in japan than the us, but im a tall, non asian woman so i think id stand out too much
The view was worth sharing, thanks for appreciating it with me! Please be safe in your town omg. It definitely isn't nice being a woman out in the world, but some places make it easier to. You wouldn't stand out as much as you might assume to in Tokyo, at least, since there are a good bit of foreigners who live and travel to Japan. Good luck :)
Great video, educational and might be useful in the future for me (I hope!)
I hope you can visit Japan soon!
One of the best videos for those traveling to Japan. The small hand towel advice is gold! Great editing as well.
Thank you ☺️ Yesss, I’ve got a small collection of towels now lol
Bro. I looooved my time in Japan. Did a student exchange for 10 and 11th at Shiga High in Otsu and it was nice. It felt more laud back in terms of my surroundings but, more focused on the prep work for college.
Omg high school seems so fun! Probably stressful as well, that’s so cool
Wow love the intro 🍿
netflix party anyone? XD
you are living the life in Japan that I always wanted. I'm 31, and part of me always thinks it is too late for me, but you inspiring me to go for it.
I work in the topical office as an IT guy here in Boston.
It’s never too late! Technology is universal or maybe a remote job can be a good opportunity to travel or work from elsewhere temporarily! Good luck 👍
My safe place literally 💞💞
this video is awesome.
You’re awesome 😎
I wanna do this so bad but i REALLY don't like school. Love learning, hate college. And I don't have an actual need for a degree rn
College isn’t for everyone and that’s okay! The Japanese school system doesn’t operate like schools in the U.S. (where I’m from), so it was really refreshing to experience school in a new light all over again. I came to love school life. Give it a shot if you can!
Narita Airport taxi to central Tokyo can cost $300 or more, ugh!
I like when you voiceover your posts. Well done!
TY! right??? I was surprised to find out how expensive taxis are. Gotta love the trains
@@itsannanguyen I spent 14 years in Japan, kanto and nearby. I was lucky to be able to drive most of that time. You see a whole different world when you’re in an automobile. What’s pretty cool is when you figure out where the train is in reference to where you are driving and mixing the two maps in your brain. Yeah, taxis are outrageous expensive! But sometimes you just have to use a taxi. The taxi driver is very helpful in finding a place sometimes.
finally an apartment tour
its small and messy and i couldn't furnish it bc it came with big items already, i'm never there either lol
I'm more surprised by the intro, Isn't it kinda hard to do for different topics every single time? I couldn't never with my time management :D
Thank you! Editing does take some time and I try to mix it up so that my videos don’t get boring :)
I hope you enjoy you enjoy life in japan :) if you need a friend im always here
Thank you! That’s very kind 😊
Narration is so cute and innocent haha 😂
haha ty I don't like my voice much
Moving to Tokyo in December, and I'll be managing expenses on my own until my first paycheck after a month. Any advice on handling finances for the initial period? Should I carry cash, use a multi-currency card, get a local card, or any recommended apps? Appreciate your insights!
Lots of places still use cash, the best exchange rates are from 7-11! They had no exchange fee when I used their atms, and you can find a 7-11 atm at the airport. Suica card can be opened/created from your phone and you can use this for transportation, shopping from convenience stores, and some restaurants and malls near stations. If you have a mastercard or visa card, you should be fine, just watch out if your bank has international fees. For cheap food, keep track of what times markets near you go on sale, its usually twice a day and before closing hours are guaranteed. Good luck! How exciting :)
my second home japan's i did my elementary school there kinda miss there
It really does feel like home, hopefully you can come back soon
The Netflix intro has to be illegal lmao
hahaha LOL shhhh
what websites did you use for finding your apartment? ^^
Can I ask where you found your apartment through? Great videos!
Oak House Japan! It’s very foreign friendly and the entire process is easy to navigate with plenty of English speaking friendly properties
Love your videos also how much in total do you spend around for "needs"
My rent included wifi, water, electricity, so my needs were just food, my train pass, and National health insurance. Food would be about $40-100 a week depending if I ate out groceries. My train pass is about $300 for 6 months, and NHS is about $10 a month for me. Hope that helps
@@itsannanguyen thank you’
I feel like the google transfer distance is not accurate in Osaka. Not sure about everywhere else.
yeahhh... Google is definitely not accurate and has gotten me lost quite a few times. I feel like I've figured out enough to not have to rely on Google, but it gives you a pretty good rough estimate on how to get from place to place
hello where did you find your apartment tryna find one! Like what website or something
I found my apartment through OakHouse, good luck!
I wished I had a semester overseas, I’m 24 but i already finished my degree. I thinking about a masters degree but my Japanese is really bad
There are lots of universities with classes in English! My uni Sophia University has an all English masters program. I believe Waseda, Tokyo, and Kyoto Uni (and others) also have them. You can also pick up some Japanese in the meantime. It’s never too late! Good luck 👍
Also I’m willing and wanting to put myself out there and meet awesome people I’m scared that it won’t happen though. I’m deciding to start learning Japanese. But it would suck if I made no friends. I’m gonna try. Just don’t know what route I’m gonna take to get to Japan I’m currently 21 and a ui/ux designer. But what visa? Work or school or WHV (holiday work visa for 1 year)? It’s very overwhelming.
As long as you start, you can’t blame yourself for not taking the initiative. You’ll find plenty of people who want to talk and make friends, too. There are programs like JET or workaway that have some opportunities for people wanting to stay in Japan. Or you could go to a Japanese language school in Japan. Anyway, good luck! 😊
@@itsannanguyen wow thank you so much! You have helped calm me down haha. I plan on going soon if possible did you go under student visa?
@@kawaiihikari0 yes, I came on a student visa
Where did you move from? Did you transfer credits?
I’m from the U.S., and my school credits easily transferred since Sophia University has quite an international student body. Hope that helps 😊
did you find your appt before you moved? if so where!?
did your school set it up? I'd love to find a 65,000 yen a month place
Yes! I found an apartment before I moved through Oak House, it's an English friendly rental website. They have options like share housing, single rooms, and apartments. Good luck :)
@@itsannanguyen Omg! Thanks so much for the rec!
Where did you find your apartment? Did you get to get it while outside Japan?
I found my apartment through OakHouse! You can rent from outside of Japan but you won’t be able to tour the property before hand if you decide to rent it before going to Japan.
@@itsannanguyen oh! Thanks! big help!
i flew to japan by myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i did it
yer did it
how did you manage to learn japanese?
I taught myself hiragana and katakana! Those are all the possible sounds you can make in Japanese, plus you’ll be able to read some. I watched a lot of anime and taught myself lots of vocabulary, too. I didn’t take classes until I got to Japan. Hope that helps!
Umm which exact visa?
I had a student visa that was good for one year, hope that helps
No way an apartment is 65,000 yen 😳 I pay $3,500 for a one bedroom in SoCal 😂😂
Yes way! I love my loft apartment, but it may be small for some. Rent in Tokyo can be around $3,500 USD depending on the size and location
how can I get a Japanese phone number and a usa phone number?
I have an international phone plan, so I was able to keep my US number with no trouble. My plan was partnered with Y-Mobile. I had friends who had e-sims that allowed them to get both a Japanese and US number. It totally is up to preference, but I would say signing up for a lot of reservations was difficult with a US number. I used LINE chat for those instead.
what she had us on the start damn.
