Great card and yes, when you first started it, it reminded me of NASCAR. Great card and thanks so much.
I am an acrylic artist. I've learned The best way to darkens colors is to mix them with their complimentary color. But you probably don't want to blend them because they will make mud. Just an fyi mixing yellow with black makes green. That's with paints. I haven't tried it with blending though. Now I have to try it out. I'll let you know. Loved your video.
WOW, really! That would be really interesting to do blending with. Please let me know how it goes.
My three sons all have such different presentations. The youngest has piercings and tattoos (and the craziest curly hair - currently coloured red!), one is covered in tattoos and the other wears pearls and paints his nails - I absolutely love their different styles - I hope they continue to come home for Christmas! 💜
Yes, mama! Love that you embrace them all!
Cathy, I like your card, the colors you used, plus the stencils.Thank you for your informative video. 😊
This is your first video that I’ve watched. I was entertained and learned a thing or two. I really enjoyed it and I intend to make it a weekly activity. Thanks, Cathy!
Thank you!
Love the colors!!
I was just thinking this morning, I would love to find a cardmaking video about how to start using color theory...thank you!!
I have a few more: ua-cam.com/play/PLX7QSPZLC539JF7rZ4TiKeV-i_HqM4RQo.html&si=XIjQ43eYAjunEel2
I love you Cathy! Thank you for sharing your talents with us! I STILL WANT TO SEE FRANKIE [caps for emphasis; a picture or video will do, LOL]! I have several color wheels, but had no clue how to use them (I do now)!
Love that in addition to gorgeous cards and colors you teach us design.
I always love the music you pic in your intros ❤ the videos goes without saying. Finally picking up pieces of your collections🥰
thank you Cathy I always wondered how to use the color wheel. And being very new to card making I have a hard time with picking my colors and always stay with one color cause I am afraid that i wont pick a color that will go together. I love to ink blend so this is going to be useful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Keep practicing! You’ll get the hang of it!
Kathy, this was the color my mom painted my bedroom as a teenager. I loved it and still do. You brought back wonderful memories! Thanks.
Always excited to hear about anything personal in your life. So happy for your son. I hope that it a good opportunity and that he loves it.
Love your stories! Love being told again about the color wheel, I always forget.
Thank you Cathy! I have a color wheel but now I know how to use it haha.
Ive been loving your tutorials. Ive learned so much. Keep them coming!
Thank you for shsring with us🎉❤
I'm so glad you're enjoying them!
That is an adorable picture! That was a great video about tips!! Really cute card!
I have a color wheel but never pull it out. Thanks for the instruction on how it works.
Thank you for sharing Goth Cathy ❤. Great card; I am going to try blue and orange.
Loving these new design videos! I am getting more comfortable with selecting colors. My issue now is figuring out what to do with the colors (e.g., how much of.a color to use, where to add the colors, etc.). Any tips would be great.
That's a great idea!
Love the soft colors. The hubster & I enjoyed your Goth pic !
Thank you!
Cathy, you were too cool for school in the 80’s. LOL! I just love that picture. It reminds me of my college years.
😂 Franklin on the treadmill made me literally laugh out loud! Love the card. 🥰
I realized once I said it that it sounded like he might be working out, but he literally was scratching the treadmill belt. I'm all, FRANKIE! Please go away until I am awake.
Wonderful class!
Cathy, my heart broke when you spoke about the no pics and the kerchief....You're awesome, and I'm pretty sure you always have been. Should always be, and have been, celebrated, regardless of what your hair looked/looks like. In the meantime, I understand...enough said. ❤ And your awesome goth pic? I hope you have an 8x10 proudly framed in a prominent spot in your house so you can see it and smile everyday!!
Yeah, I learned a lot about acceptance from that experience. In fact, the whole goth phase taught me a lot about how people feel when judged. So I am grateful for that experience at a young age. It informed a lot of my world view for sure.
@czdesign So happy it ended up making you you and not a soured individual!
Cathy - we all need a boop funnel now!! Thank you for another great video!
She is going to sell them! I'll have more info soon!
You are such a joy to watch
I missed your live but loved the replay. These colors are so beautiful and I adore this card. A few weeks ago you mentioned the shoes you wore because they were comfortable and you wore them year round. Were they Stegmann’s? I’m in search for some good quality wool clogs/slides. Have a good week.
Christine, they are Haflingers. They are my favorite! I have two pairs. One for inside. One for outside. Plus, my summer sandals are Haflingers too! Check them out. Worth the money!
I have a pair of these: www.schulershoes.com/unisex-gz-grizzly-classic-by-haflinger-unisexgzgrizzlyclassichaflinger.html#296=48529&299=59637&303=60028
And a pair of these: (but mine are hot pink, which I don't see here anymore): www.schulershoes.com/womens-kris-by-haflinger-womenskrishaflinger.html#296=48175&299=59637&303=60028
@ Thanks so much!! I’ve been looking for this style shoe and knew if you wore them they were comfy and of good quality. I don’t mind paying for something that is going to last and is timeless. I appreciate you.
I love your design elements
the dies have cooridinating letters/numbers on the stamps and the dies so you get the right die
Well I did not know that on these ones! Cool!
Interesting to note your discussion of ads at about 28:30 got interrupted by an ad. 🤪
Lol. That is funny!
Replay watcher here! Another great card make. Love the entertainment portion, always a good times. Thank you for sharing. Look forward to your next card sesh 👉
Thank you so much 🤗
I had the same Prince experience. Still in love with him till this day. Treasure that is gone too soon.
Way too soon!
True story: I saw him perform in his club in Minneapolis called Glam Slam. It was a $15 ticket. A secret show, 200 people limit. It was an out of body experience to be 15 feet away from him. I wish I could remember more of it, but it was something. The only time I ever saw him perform. What a talent.
@@czdesignI only saw him once, but it is a memory of a life time. Wish he was still here so we could go together! Thanks for all you do! Boop 😅
Not sure if you’ll see this comment after the live Cathy, but I wanted to say that I always let my daughter do whatever she wanted with her hair. That being said, I was so shocked when I went to work when she was 15 and she had long beautiful hair down to her behind. When I came home, she was bald! She told me she always wanted to have the bald experience. After I got over the shock, she actually pulled off the bald head too!
That’s so cool of you to be so supportive!
Love your videos. QUESTION: How do you store your Altenew inks? I tried the conventional way but they get stuck in my standard ink pad holders 🤦♀️
Ah, that is because you need theses cardboard inserts: • Distress Ink Spacer Kit | OrganizeMore
--- ldli.co/e/075n49j
Even though they are designed for Distress Ink Pads, they work for the Altenew as well! You just fold them and stick them into the ink shelves, and they keep them from going all the way back.
I remember one instruction regarding cropping: crop, and then crop some more!
Cropping is a super power!
Love the Goth!
Sigh. Those were the days!
@
You can say that, girl!!!
Your hair looks fabulous today!!❤
I would love one but they are SO expensive with the exchange rate, shipping and duty! 😢🇨🇦
You are a 💎
Just missed the live😮
So now watching the replay x
Starting in COVID, my kids colored their hair every color of the rainbow. Now, they are starting to ask why I “let” them do that (they’re embarrassed by a few of their looks). I said, it’s hair, it grows or can be cut. 😂
Cathy I have a question what are the best A2 rectangle stitched die cuts?
I will say that the ones i have and have not used for a very long time are the ones from Lawn Fawn! I love those. I need to bust those out!
1. Pink and green make me think Laura Ashley comforters. 2. You said racing flag. I thought something from Dr Seuss. 3. Complimentary colors will always be one primary and one secondary so yellow and purple not yellow and orange. That's how I remember it, anyway.
Oh totally. Yellow and purple! I may have said it wrong.
Had to watch on replay because I was at work.
Where to find the stamp primer?
Oh shoot, I always forget to link: • Stamp Conditioning Eraser Set*
--- ldli.co/e/qyzyqdl [ Altenew ]
@ Thank you Cathy! 😊
You are lucky you can put your hair up like that and look cool. X
Just ordered the turn table from Anna Griffin. They are in stock now.
Sorry Cathy I didn’t make the live stream!! Yay boop funnel!!! I’m so glad you like it and my hubby said you’re welcome!!!!!
I loved the boop funnel, so thanks for sharing it!
Your hair is beautiful
I like your hair up.
I have a fundamental question….. why is it called a stampwheel when it is square? Haha
Because the clear stamping plate, which i did not use, is round! and rotates!
@ aha! This was only the second time I’ve seen someone use one, and both times it was used square hahaha. Now I know! 😃
Hi Cathy x
When I hack off any significant portion of a panel, I often use a strip inside as a border, tying the card together with little effort. Sometimes it's just a rectangular strip; others I die cut the strip and make it more interesting.
2:30 why wouldn’t you just tell your son he couldn’t be on the internet while you were doing a live?
Oh, I did! haha. And he usually would just read during that time. But I was never 100% sure.
I had UA-cam prime for several months and decided that I needed to reduce expenses and that I needed to watch less UA-cam. The ads would keep me from watching too much. I lasted maybe a day and a half before I resubscribed to prime.
That is SO relatable!
I know what RBF is, but C? Help? lol
RoyGBiv? Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. Does that help?
@@czdesign No, I was referring to your comment around the 43rd min when you said you smiled because you know you have "RBC." I'm assuming that refers to one's resting face, but I didn't know what the C stood for. lol
Spare the panel; spoil the card.
Cathy, I have been watching your videos for years, even binge watching. But this new frequent sucking teeth sound so close to the mic is so grating and distracting.
You must not have been taught that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Rude
@@celestegledhill8879Me either
Wait, are you hearing that on my live stream? The mic is 16 inches away from my face interesting.
I will look into it
Just FYI no strange sound here so must be on your own end rather than Cz’s………..
@@joharper7365 I appreciate the feedback. I am not sure what she means by "teeth sucking" sound. The mic is no where near my mouth, but I will adjust the levels of my mic to see.
I would love one but they are SO expensive with the exchange rate, shipping and duty! 😢🇨🇦
Yep.
