They're bulk cardstock packs I bought from big box stores and cardstock manufacturers. I chose not to label them because my goal wasn't to call out any specific company, just to highlight the differences in paper quality. But I realize that might have caused some confusion.
I really like Simon's cardstock. I knew there were differences in white cardstock but had a hard time finding a good one. What a difference when I tried Simon's! You can feel the quality from the moment you touch it. It is very smooth and takes ink so well! Plus, there's no 'blotchiness' because the ink blends so nicely. I am a convert for sure!
Haven’t been watching many crafting videos lately; but I just had shoulder surgery, and I decided what better way to rest and recover than to watch me some Simon Hurley videos. Thanks for the inspiration! I’m eager to get back to creating and my wishlist is longer. I’ve got to try your card stock now!
This was so much fun and you did a wonderful job. I have been eyeing up your pastes for a little while now, I will definitely get some of the festive colors; green, gold and silver for Christmas cards. Thank you Simon
I enjoyed this lesson on cardstock, I've definitely run into some of the issues you described but wasn't sure why. Your cards were beautiful (butterflies) whimsical (hearts)and fun (monster)! I also appreciated your take on foiling with your cardstock.
Great video! Lots of fun techniques. I haven’t tried inking my cardstock after foiling, so I’m anxious to give that a try. As you said in your video, colored card stock doesn’t always work well with hot foiling. I really liked your first card with the postage edge. Thank you for all of the wonderful ideas!
I also noticed that most craft card stocks dissolve when they come into contact with liquid paint. I usually use cheaper, thick drawing paper (approx. 200g), which holds up a bit like Fabriano Accademi paper.
What a fantastic demonstration, SImon! I am going to check my cardstock and see how it acts. I use Nina Solar Class Crest 80 lb and 110 lb for most of my stamping and die cutting, and sometimes 140 lb water color paper when i want to go all mixed media. I think I've seen that shine on it when it is super saturated with ink. :( .... great tips that you shared too!!
Thank you for the visual explanation and detailed notes about the different card stocks. It really made a difference. all the cards were great, but I especially love the monsters. I would love to spellbinders came out with matching die sets for that. I’m horrible at fussy cutting 😂
That first card was beautiful I've never received a valentine card before 😢and butterflies are my favourite. I also absolutely love the second one. I wish someone went to that effort for me🥺 oh well I'm not going to live to see next Christmas I have many health problems. You really brighten my day and you taught me so much Im bedbound but I use a table easle with a magnetic surface to attach and work on my projects. I really love you so much and wish you all the best. Lv Rachy xxxx
Hi Rachel, you sound like a great person, I volunteer in aged care so meet many bedbound people. Sorry to hear your health isn’t good but I have health issues too and crafting sort of keeps me sane🤪 Happy Valentine’s Day ❤ take it easy , Tracy 🤩🇦🇺👍🏻
Hi Simon. Great sales job on your card stock! You’ve got me convinced as one of the biggest problems I have is warping. I do have a packet of your cardstock which I keep ‘for best’ as here in Australia 🇦🇺 it can be quite difficult to find and I can’t remember where I bought mine from. Thanks for sharing your lovely cards and I especially like the one with butterflies - 🦋 so bright and colourful 😊
Hi salmon, I was trying my best to find a way to message you. I am retiring soon and I am starting a new craft of printing cards, and I wanted to know Joann fabrics have some alcohol inks on sale and I was just wondering can I use those to re-ink my Distressed Ink Pads

What a good video. I knew all cardatocks weren't equal but couldn't explain it. Thanks.
I really appreciated your detailed technical notes throughout. They can be applied in so many more ways than you can show in any one video.
I loved the polka dots with the postage stamp border.

I learned a lot! I’ll have to try your cardstock now. ❤
Great video. I have some of your paper and saved it for blending, but now I feel like I should order some more directly from Ranger.

I bought nee a white because it was highly spoken of on UA-cam. I'm going to look at my local (Australian) line craft stores for yours!
Pre-folded is nice!

Loving your cardstock and inks ❤
Does the dormer pick up the othe colour when blending?
Your cardstock sounds amazing, I am disappointed I cannot get it here in australia
I loved all your Cardstock, and use them for different projects,
Enjoyed your video..TY
Love the stark white cardstock.
Hi what is the brightness # for stark white?
Most white cardstock is designed for printing, not crafting. So its nice to see some cardstock designed specifically for crafting techniques.
Lynn Le Bel Great video Simon! I enjoyed all your tips. The monster card was my favourite one, he is just so cute! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing

Wonderful informative video with beautiful cards.
Just ordered a set of all minus the top folding card bases. Looking forward to trying them out...Thank you! 8-)
It's all very well using your card stock, however some people cannot get access to that. We just have to use what we can get in our countries
What colored cardstock do you use? Thanks for the video.
Love colored cardstock from Gina K, Spellbinders and Concord & 9th. Colors and quality is great!

❤ The new card stock sounds great. The cards are delightful. But 😊 you got my hopes up when you pulled out dies-no fun faces or interesting props! 😢
Hi Simon!
Really enjoyed this video. Is there a black bulk cardstock you'd recommend?
Does fold better that way
Yes!
GREAT video!!! I'm sold lol
Gracias por el doblaje en español!
How come you don't have a red-red ink??? Close but not quite red enough....😢
Amei assisti ao vídeo de hoje porque a IA traduziu de forma simultânea.
