It would be so cool if this guy came back after all these years and made a Armored Core 6 fires of rubicon gmv.
This shows the beauty of AC combat and their pilots. Each is powerful, each is confident and has their own legend. They go in thinking that they will not lose but as the battle progresses they change. They either become desperate and refuse to die easily while most accept that they will die but put forth their best effort to prove that they were everything they could've been. Even as the Raven and all others with a true warrior's soul end them they remember them forever.

The more I watched it, the more it forms a "story" within it, of a Raven's struggle from a humble beginning (Ordeal by Innocence), arduous journey and his first blood (Dumb Witness), formidable challenges (Towards Zero), and the peak of his skill (Death Comes As The End). Finally, a reminder of who he is and those who helped him until that point (And Then There Were None)

I remember doing Seed A Barren Earth for the first time after learning 00-ARETHA was piloted by Joshua. I beat him and felt no sense of accomplishment anymore....
And then Celo came out and started talking trash about Joshua. I started crying tears of rage as I blasted and slashed his AC apart. I couldn't stand the thought of someone besmirching the name of someone who had saved my life more than once, and only fought to protect the ones precious to him.
kcm001 the idea of a man mocking the death of your friend, Celo made a gigantic mistake, he caught you at the worst time proceeded to piss you off and inadvertently volunteered to die.

I always did my best to place my AC right next to theirs as they said their dying words. I felt that letting them know I was there to hear said words was the only decent thing I could do for them in their last moments.
If you lose in the final battle Joshua implies hes gonna kill himself shortly after. "Im sorry you can yell at me soon"

Those 4th new generation pilots are fearing the player because he's the only raven who survived the 3rd generation's ravages, and he adapted quickly unto the next generation from being a raven and piloting an AC to piloting a NEXT and becoming a lynx

4 and 4A really had a dark yet beautiful plot underneath all that obfuscation.
I think you forgot about how V and Verdict day are the same timeline and universe just a couple hundred years later after the polution eased up

This is epic. The best AC AMV I've seen. And they should of ported some of these voices to the English version they sound bad assed.

Armored Core is underrated as f*ck. Rather than give it props for unique mech customization or a fairly decent story and characters, they just go "nah, it's not Call of Duty" and give it a C-.
I agree that the series is underrated, especially the more recent ones (namely Armored Core 4 through Verdict Day). Personally, I kinda wish that they would do more about the games' storylines.
Scorpi0nPrince The storylines are there, the problem is that they're buried deep in there so you really have to pay attention, since it's told during the missions instead of actual cutscenes, with a few exceptions
RayShadow278 Don't forget the transmissions during missions, those make game a bit harder as you want to both keep up with enemies and listen to those bits of dialogs...

@BboyByungGyu i could spend days just figuring out the story, the characters of the armored core series.
But from what i gathered, Anatolia's merc is an ex-normal pilot,so he has seen his own share of battles and i think he actually almost died, so he's probably helping anatolia out of gratitude which changes to a sense of righteousness (obviously the world is in a bad shape) i dont know if he ever grows weary as he becomes line ark's only line of defense in AC4a

I like to think that if all the ACs were connected, 4 and 4A would come first, followed by V and VD (an order which is actually canonical). Followed by 1 and 3, then 2 and 2AA.

@onigojira Same with the Japanese version. Those info were given in side material booklets that Sega didn't translate. As far as in-game audio, they translated everything, all you need to do is hope you trigger that event that prompts said dialogue to pop up.
Even the vid maker said some of the lines were unused ingame. So logically Sega would not use them as well. Though I guess Sega did make some misspellings (as does Ubisoft with ACfA, dang)

So I'm reading all the comments and I agree with you guys (basically, this game is fantastic!) but nobody was appreciating the romance of the Anatolia's Mercenary and Fiona? c'mon guys. It's subtle and doesn't get in the way, still a nice touch though. The only Armored core I know with romance. What a great game.

I had had the back mounted kojima cannons and even with those I'm pretty sure I just got lucky on that mission
kira17801 Sirius Cannons, they punch straight through PA and NEXTs are rendered somewhat easy. Blades also do the job.

@BboyByungGyu Armored core is its own story however often it concetrates on the pilots being used as pawns by corrupt companies, which i guess we could relate to SEEDS 3 blue cosmos pilots,
but i see alot of difference in this and gundam however i onyl watched SEED which had ridiculously OP gundams >-o so i cant compare to the wing and unicorn universes
It looks like Sega really changed a lot of the characters and completely gutted the plot (and subplots) when From Software gave them the reigns to the american release. How depressing that they would treat this fine game series that way.

Armored Core 4 had a stellar cast (I mean come on, Leonhardt got very few lines, but is voiced by Takahiro "Cloud Strife/Suzaku Kururugi" Sakurai), but ACfA's English cast basically made the dub much better, especially the briefing people (who doesn't recognize Liam O'Brien as Omer Science dude lol). Also, the voice for Serene Haze in English>>>JP. In JP version, she sounds very dull XD.

I dont know where you live but in the states the entire plot with Josh is taken out. There's no explenation given for why he's attacking or about his relationship with Fiona.
Rex and the American dub proves a bit Superior here.

I didn't mean they were same in plot wise but more of quote wise as represented in this vid, and also character development of the pilot as represented in this vid. How they start out by simply without a reason but later the pilot grows weary of all the destruction and killing. But i do agree with you that plot wise it is different in that I consider both to have an amazing story if you spend time pondering over them.

well not just that, the english dubs for 4 and For Answer are horrendous, they miss shitloads.
Thennek LKT In the translation of my languaje, in the text they say the same thing but ussually in a different way that they speak in the voice.
im still waiting for an AC game or any game that matters that has a multi nationality cast. ex japanese for some english for some french etc etc give it a lil more spice.

Did the AC pilots die after you destroyed them or damaged? Because I really wish they didn't die; it'd be nice to actually meet them afterwords.
FromaticFTW AC's are essentially flying battle coffins as they have no eject button, it is accepted that if you become a raven you are ready to die but you get alot of privileges.
ztmackin it's even worse in 4 as while they don't explode, you have to remember that the pilots are linked mentally and physically to their machines so if it sustains enough damage they will die from the shock.
I thinks that it depends on the damage that they take in the last moment, that is decided for the script story.
Because in AC FA a bit of them still survive after be defeated.

Granted, I went over to Niconico and watched someone doing an LP of the NA version of ACfA. While the LPer and the commenters were pretty amused by Ubisoft's mistranslation (like saying that CUBE is a cyborg or, more egregiously, the pilot of White Glint being a female), most of them applaud the superior English voice acting, for capturing the "emotions" in the game.
