Bought a 98 e150 last august. Two days before WE fest. Drove it there. Camped in it. Worked like a charm. Decided to 86 the back seat a couple weeks ago. Gonna look into a bed frame or something. Little rusty but trusty body. Don’t plan on doing a whole lot extra to it. Would like pre90s for my next one. Just like the body and the space. Thanks for the videos!
That would be good. I’ve got a twin xl memory foam mattress from Amazon that worked pretty good. Trying to decide if I want to just buy a cheap frame off Facebook or use my bed I use now and just buy a new one for my bedroom. Definitely have some options that’s for sure.
I just saved an 88 e-250 3/4 ton that’s got a 5.0 with 74k original miles on it from the scrap yard last week, last night was it’s first time running since 2007. Mines just a panel van but it’s got a big window sliding side door an I’m contemplating on doing my own camper conversion with it
I have a 2001 E150 with the 5.4 and I love it. I've had people ask if it's for sale and each time it's no, not for sale. It's honestly been one of the most reliable vehicles I've owned and I'll probably keep driving her until the body quits. Good bet the much simpler 5l in that one will just keep on going. Van's don't accelerate down the road, they advance at the speed of van, whatever that happens to be. (And it changes sometimes it's happy cruising at 55 other times it wants to GO!)
Ford conversion vans are way cool. Friend of mines parents had one when we were kids. Had all captain chairs with the cool wood trim. Back windows were mirror tinted. Not even legal anymore. She was a good rig. Always wanted one! Thank you for the video and saving the van!
@@LifeofLind oh I understand and give you a big thumbs up because I know she has sentimental value. Take good care of this one. I have a 1971 ariens snow blower that my dad bought brand new. Yeah I could upgrade. But I won’t. She runs great. Loved the Barth videos! God bless you and your family!
Hi Dustin, great video. Now I know I'm just a scrapbooker, but that van sounded great and I loved the dark blue doors on it, made it I think. Door on your workshop looks brilliant and you seem like your heaps happier in it. Good luck. 🇦🇺👏👌

Mate the shop looks awesome and the Ford van so cool sounds great plus your smile looks a bit bigger in the new shop well done huge thumbs up from Australia 👍🇦🇺
The van is coming along just fine, love what you're doing on the interior, wouldn't change anything. It's definitely a keeper in my book. Unless someone has a ruler in their pocket, no one is going to notice that gap, in the back; but dial it in what you can as long as nothing is hitting and you're good to go. My brother's '79 Camaro had awful gaps with the hood and fenders when it was brand new, and yours looks perfect by comparison. Great video and standing by for the next one. 👍✨
Gave a friend of mine a one of the Double barrel stove kits, as a old plumber he filled the bottom of the top Barrel with Concrete with 1/2 copper pipe buried inside, the concrete, he had hot water on tap in his stop for free, some times he would even start a twig fire in the summer to have warm water to wash his hands.

Typically plugs of that era had center electrodes with sharp edges. Yours are rounded. That is a sign those plugs have many miles on them. They will still work but not as well as new ones would. Might even affect gas mileage. Just something to consider.

Whats the purpose of the upper barrel, solely to radiate heat?
With metal fireplaces, the heat goes straight out the chimney
Like a freeway for the exhaust
Russians build brick fireplaces that capture the heat from the exhaust gases
They have a slow exhaust system, if you will
With the double barrel, it's that sort of idea; it slows the exhaust so you're getting more value from the fuel you burn
So yes, more radiant heat 🔥🔥

great vid, i just bought a 95 e150 that i want to convert into a camper. its been sitting for 2 years and needs some new rubber but it fires up, sounds a little throaty. can you give us any tips on what we should be looking at for an older van. im a little nervous about it but it was cheap and would really like to see it do the speed limit without pissing off other people. caught a few other videos of yours here and there, time to subscribe. btw, your new shop is a awesome.
Take the Ford logo off the old, beaten doors (if it’s there) and put on replacement doors ?
I’m so curious when you are going to make a motorhome video
working on one this week!
