I used a 12mm honeycomb stencil to capture the pattern a little better for the gold paint. I thought that a 25mm stencil would mean I would have to paint the whole shell and would split the paint by 50/50 👍

I only had the slippery warehouse floor to run the car on and yes, I agree, the car park would have been a better choice apart from the torrential rain and the lack of lighting didn't help either 😁

Apart from the hiccup on the front panel, I think it came out OK 😁

A few plastic cones and you could have a cool little circuit on the go there!!
Great paint job, my ageing eyes are starting to struggle keeping up with some of my darker runners now.... this colour could well be the answer!
It's so easy to track.
I'm most interested in the concept of the front wheel drive platforms, but yet to drive one.
I do have an M-03 Mini cooper still to be built though.... Just haven't had time to build it yet what with working 7 days a week.
You mentioned the steering sticking, I've had a few projects doing this over the last few years, and have deduced that most of my problems have been caused by weak, cheap ebay special servos!!
(they just don't seem to have the power to re center under load)
I now try to buy half decent 20kg servos and have found this has really helped!
Shame on me spending all that cash on a nice kit, and then adding a crappy £6 servo! 🤣

I agree with you about the cheap servos, I've just taken a delivery of Power HD 15kg full metal geared steering servos of which one of those will fit snugly in this standard M-05 kit.
I have to wait till the office staff go home before the kits come out to play 😝😁😝

Be interesting to see if that 15kg servo helps bud.
After doing some research I found out that the cheap ones we were getting off ebay were only 6kg.....not to mention the fact that half of them did not work at all from new!!
China have a lot to answer to..... Needless to say I have learnt my lesson!
Anyway mate, hope you're keeping well Sir..... and let me know if that better servo solves the steering issue!

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC I've used the Power HD servos in some previous builds of mine so I know they work properly and return to centre as well. Yes, time for nite-nites for a few hours and then back to the Grindstone 👍

This is the only fwd kit I own and was so impressed with the 5 minutes of fun that I am going to buy another one and make it brushless with some upgraded parts 😀 The paint scheme for it will be a complete honeycomb paintjob all over. I have four A4 stencil sheets that I can use on the shell so I've got no excuse for not doing it 😁
