After the launch of the new Ducati Scrambler, everything was shook up.
And BMW couldn't stay indifferent, to this new old kind of motorcycle.
If you are looking for a new motorcycle to be customized according to your own taste, this might be the perfect one.
Because i think BMW built this bike, using the following principle: "We built the basic, and you finish the rest." And this is an excellent approach.
Besides being a Scrambler, i don't see anything against about trying a Cafe Racer project with this new 2016 BMW Rnine T Scrambler.

I bought this bike, and I've changed it a bit, the bars, mirrors, added the second dial, tail light and removed the fender and I love riding this bike. It's a blast on gravel roads, in the curves of Hwy 101, and just looks sexy to nearly everyone who walks past it.

I work at a BMW retailer in switzerland and i hope so much that many customers will buy and customize de bike in our garage because i like it to work on the r9 chassis and love to customize stuff for the people.

Bons detalhes na diferenciação entre a nine t e esta nova versão. As críticas referem muitas vezes que é lindíssima, mas pouco confortável, que é fantástica para tomar o lugar de segunda mota. Com tudo continuo a achar que a minha r1150r é das motas mais bem conseguidas das últimas gerações, isto porque é absolutamente prática, para viagens diárias sem acessórios é uma naked, e para uns largos, largos km de touring, é carregar malas, para brisas e a mesma compre. Sendo que não se vê muitas e pelos marcos ainda únicos de design, como o guarda lamas frontal por exemplo, é na minha opinião um futuro clássico pela certa, aquele motor tem o velho carisma dos flat twin muito saudável... Um abraço. Grande trabalho. Parabéns.
É curioso ver alguém ligado ao Design a privilegiar tanto a praticabilidade duma moto. Talvez seja devido à tua própria experiência vs necessidade. :) Obrigado pelo comentário amigo. Um abraço.

Provavelmente o problema será na configuração do seu youtube. Verifique no canto
inferior direito da janela do video, e clique no botão das legendas para ver se estão ligadas ou desligadas. Um abraço.
Wonderfull bike indeed, altough as a scrambler i would prefer to see it with spoked wheels. I wish manufacturers like honda , yamaha and other brands make more bikes with retro looks and start even to indroduce small displacment ones like 250 or 300cc, to be reasonably priced and leave lots of room to modify and personalized the bike more.
Brands like Mash make great looking old school bikes even in 125cc and they sell them cheap. I wish i could see more interested in the retro look, not these silly transfomer like with big bug like eyes at the front....yuk!

The frames are the same, it's the mounts on the bearings and triple trees that make it look different, that and a slight rake on the Scrambler version. It's due to the suspension, not the frame.
Yes, after i finished this video, i also began to see that the main difference is in the triple trees. But it was too late already to change the video. But thanks for sharing your comment. Cheers.
Hey your channel just got hijacked by the BMW marketing department . Just kidding. I like seeing some of the new stuff also or rather what we can do to turn it into a cafe racer. Just for the record i think the Ducati 900SS of the late 70s early 80s is the coolest factory cafe bike of all time.

I read from internet that aluminium might desolve on food. Im just afraid now that can i get sick from that if i drink gasoline from aluminium tank? Ohh f*** im on stress now i might have drink gasoline from one of those aluminium tanks... i hope i dont get cancer or something cause that... But great video onse againg.
Do not worry. My great-grandfather drank water from pipes made of lead, and lived up almost to 90 years of age. :) Cheers.

I think everyone has different taste. It depends on what is ur budget and what mods u want to do i guess. For me, i will get the XSR 700 or 900 over this BMW scrambler out of all the "modern retro", if inassume they are roughly the same price?. But between ducati and this? Hands down to BMW. I will for sure get the nineT over anything else though if i got the fund. I love the RnineT.
for me its seem like a CB1100xx
unfinished bike by the way look old in modern schemes and certainly sure will have some awesome projects going on soon

It's sad, i was pushed to sell my R Nine T that I had some "cafe" work done to it after only a year 1300mls. My back, neck and sometimes my hip would bother me after 75mls. I've had surgery on back twice and hip replaced. The scrambler looks like it is more of an upright seating position, Hmmmmm, I wonder?
I've my Harleys that I can ride for miles without the same discomfort; but I'll miss my beemers and Ducs

the spoke wheel version is quite nice just the exhaust, it doesn't resemble a cafe racer at all for my preference

By many years in fact decades, grand brands such as BMW were in a path of an idiotic gigantocracy, every year a bigger bike with electronics, even in the stand and muffler. “Stuff” for the new rich. Betting in the same boring “stylish” of non stylized style kind of bikes; a pleonasms for the lack of ideas and taste, like is saying, that a giraffe is a horse design from a committee, too much “things” for little originality. You are very kind with the German brand, to me is very clear that the BMW Rhine T Scrambler, is almost a copycat of the one from Luis Moto, but somehow I like it. Is like and old folk song of my country that says: “No hay que llegar primero, sino saber llegar” (“No need to come first, but knowing how to get there”). At least BMW get there in to the business of retro good looking bikes. So much for the taste and originality of Luis Moto!

The RnineT does look good. But it is not Retro as BMW promote it.

Yeah. But this Fuel Tank would need to go. a more "Boxed" one would look way better. Ducati did it way better with the Scrambler to make a Retro Bike. Also the Honda CB 1100 looks very "Old Style".
Here's what they need to change to make the bike customizable (for non-professional builders:
-don't put loctite on every fucking screw. It's so annoying and some are impossible to open
-get rid of the 36(!)mm nut thats holding the forkbridge. Noone has this, and corresponding nuts are expensive.
-tork screws aaaaal the way. Really? 8mm torx?
-better access to front indicator cables
-can't open the front headlamp w/o screwing up the screw
-that seat system is ridicolous. Maybe like an easy click in/out system
It seems you already bought one of the new Scramblers model. How do you know all those little details?
I own a 2014 R NineT, these are the problems I encountered while customizing mine. I dont mean to cry, since some parts are really comvenient to customize. But they sell it as a customizable Bike I also did a Kawasaki W800 and had none of the above mentioned problems...

No my friend, to do that is optional, not necessary. In other words as Any and All Motorcycles are Customizable, the way this one is laid out, makes customizing an easier and much more attainable job to be done.
What on earth is wrong with the exhausts? They look just right.
