Great video! I have been learning taxidermy for a while now and your videos are a huge help! One question i have though is how do you get the feathers to not look greasy in the end? I notice this a lot with ruffed grouse, ill wash them really well with dawn and when i am drying them they never come out looking all fluffy. Ive done waterfowls and their feathers always seem to turn out nice but never the grouse. How do you combat this?
Thanks for watching... You might think you are washing them well but are you rinsing them well ? I wash every skin 2 or 3 times.. fairly hot water with Dawn, and rinse 4-5 times till all soap residue is completely out of the feathers.. feathers barbs will float separately and freely when submerged and when clean.. if they stick together under clear water, there is something still among them.
If I ever need something mounted, you'd be my choice - although living in Wisconsin, it'd get complicated. Do you do much shipping around the continent?
Simply stunning! You’ve got some skills there!.
Thanks 🙏
Exelent work
Thank you! Cheers!
I recently subscribed to you and I follow your content with interest, you are doing great work.
Thank you. I’m glad you are enjoying the videos. 👍
Wow, you work the feathers like warm butter! Feathers on my specimens are so rigid with the flight feathers and tail feathers.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you
You're welcome
Cool stuff! I am interested in a partridge shaped to look like it is hanging from a wall for a still life prop photo.
I see.. that should not be hard.

Thanks. Canada is quite relaxed about paperwork as long as they are there.. but US seems like to ban everything.
