Am struggling with depression for yes..n has been hard am a senior 75 yrs..old n sometimes I feel that's no one understand my situation n have a procedure done on my rt eye it's a journey..but I know God is faithful to His promise n I pray for His grace n mercy everyday n He's Strength keeps me going. Pr Andy talked about how some of the choices of his grandfather still impact him today. He didn't say what those choices were, but we can imagine they could include divisions -- how his grandfather stopped talking to his sibling, and today the two branches of the family still have no contact. Or we see how bitterness and resentment get transmitted from parent to child. In contrast, he shared the story of his friend, who obeyed the pull of the Holy Spirit to take his brother and reconcile/reconnect with their dad after many years. When his friend heard the following week that his father had passed away, he felt no heaviness, just gratitude, because they had reconciled. Just a note, however, that Pr Andy was careful to distinguish between forgiveness and reconciling. We can forgive those who have hurt us without reconciling, excusing, trusting, ignoring or forgetting.
